We went to York for a Truimph motorbike rally and spent Saturday night at the York Palace hotel in a terrace room. It was very comfortable and ideal for the night. Everything was clean and modern. I would definitely stay here if I need accommodation in York again.

thanks for your review - glad you enjoyed the rooms. Hope to see you return, perhaps for the next year's rally, if not before.

We stayed just one night and enjoyed the experience. The hotel focuses on accommodation, lunch and evening meals. They don't serve breakfast but their are options just down the street. The architecture of the hotel is Edwardian and retains many of the features. Luckily, some of the rooms have been sacrificed to provide spacious ensuites. Drinks can be taken on...

Thanks Elaine for taking the time to share your experience of your recent stay at the York Palace. We are at present arranging for beers on tap, and will have this in the next month. Also hoping to move my office, so we can utilise that lovely room with fire as a guest lounge for the winter months, when the...

We had a lovely night's stay and will certainly return. The hotel is beautiful and our room, one of the rear terrace rooms, was fantastic, on a par with many five star rooms in the city. My only regret was not sampling the cuisine.

Visited after a sky dive (would also recommend) food was fantastic and service was equally as impressive. Get into the pear, blue cheese and caramelised walnut salad, all 6 of us that had it strongly would recommend

Had a really enjoyable stay in one of the Terrace balcony rooms. Old world charm but with up to date facilities. Topped off with a great meal downstairs in the restaurant befor a nightcap on the balcony. Highly recommend.

We had a memorable stay in heritage York Palace Hotel, the hotel owner was away when we arrived but a farmer friend was waiting to hand us the keys to the terraced room. Access via car is at the back of the hotel, with parking in front of the room. We drove to Wave Rock the next morning and this...

Arriving in York to spend one night we went to the information centre to find out what Motel style of accommodation there was available. We were given a number of options but were told that The Palace was one of the better ones. We called in there and saw the lady who I presume was the owner. We asked if...

How lovely that as well as visiting York for a great celebration, you also had the time to spend time in the Alice at the Palace restaurant. Max is an institution here with us, and he is a lovely addition to the staff, if a little lazy. Come back and spend more time enjoying the surroundings.
