Detailed Reviews
A group of 13 of us including teenagers stayed for two nights recently. We booked the House and 2 of the cottages. I stayed in Pendle Cottage which was charming and quaint, spotlessly clean with all the facilities to cook. The house was beautiful so grand and the swimming pool was a bonus although much needed as very hot. We explored the town in the day, visited the motor museum, sweet shop and bridge then drove to York Olive Oil to sample to much talked about ice-cream which is well worth a visit. We dined out one of the nights at The Imperial Homestead and the food was lovely. We would definitely come back and stay at the properties and the owners were great to communicate and very helpful.

We had a lovely time away from the city. We were very welcomed and enjoyed the beautiful location and the countryside. The animals were a bonus!
Situated close to York, these cottages offer a short distance into town where there are a range of wonderful restaurants and scenery to enjoy!
We loved our stay, Thank you!

We stayed in the sept school hols with my 4 & 7 year old boys and they had a great time! Feeding the animals and the gamesroom were the highlights for them. We only went out a few hours each day to the main playground in town near the river and a couple of nice old pubs. The settlers cottage is a decent size inside and directly across from the old but still well worthwhile (for smaller kids) playground. Katie the kangaroo was also a favourite. Nice at the end of winter when its cool with misty mornings and very green. It was a great price for the cottage and we would definitely visit again.

The owners Jenny and Pete were so good to us. The grand children loved the llamas, sheep chicken and pet kangaroo. Children met farmer Pete early morning to mix animal feed and help feed. Being city kids they so loved it. We had booked the 3 stone collages and they were all very well appointed with lovely old time furniture. each cottage had a front and back verandahs. The 3 families met for breakfast and dinner at the larger of the homes. Jenny help organise an evening roast dinner for my husbands 70th birthday. Enjoyed by all. Thoroughly recommend.
