The motel accommodation is basic tho comfortable. No hairdryer. Continental breakfast basic. Choice of bar, pizza and restaurant menus, tho only pizza Sunday night. Ask if a band is playing during your stay, and if so request a room away from the noise. Pool is closed due to requiring maintenance. This is an old building in dear need of an...

Friendly service. Reasonable beer selection. Nice courtyard to sit in. Didn't stay over so cannot rate accommodation. Also didn't eat yet but probably the friendliest pub and maybe busiest in York. Will call again.

Went for dinner with friends New Years Eve 2017. Lovely friendly waitress was a bonus, but hearing the chef screaming at her and dropping the 'F' and 'C' bomb at her all night was disgusting. The owners should be very concerned they are not sued for bullying and harassment in the workplace.

Well - it is that period between Christmas and New Year but to find only 3 tables full - 2 of which already had their meals and we were told we would have to wait nearly 1 hour for our food was ordinary at best - all because no food deliveries had been received for several days - multiple items...

We stayed here overnight with a group of friends after a day in the surrounding area. Now bear in mind that this is a country pub, not The Ritz in a large urban area. So my rating is 5 star for this type of establishment, not the Michelin guide. The food was excellent, the service friendly, if perhaps a little...

Visited for a meal here and had the special, a $15 T bone, salad and chips. The steak was cooked well, very tasty, well dressed salad and chips. We ate in the cozy back bar. Pub itself is very charming and historic. Staff friendly.

My Husband & I had lunch here yesterday, we were part of a bus trip of about 20 people. The Staff were very friendly & efficient. Even though there were so many of us the service was good. We didn't have long to wait for our meals, which were fresh & tasty. The Grilled Barramundi was lovely. It's been ages...

Visited with overseas relatives for a pub lunch. The locals are very friendly and we all enjoyed a cooked lunch with a pint before venturing up to the lookout. The service was good and the food fresh and tasty and good value. Great atmosphere too.

This is a lovely place to stay, we only needed to stay in York for one night. The owners were very nice. Payment and key pickup is at Mo's Cafe on the Main Street. The room was for my parents who have mobility issues, so although they liked the room and it was on the ground floor, they were unable...

We stayed at the Castle Hotel on the 18th June, 16. It is an old hotel and badly in need of refurbishment, the bed was lumpy but the room was clean enough. My major concern was that I fell whilst trying to get into the shower because the non slip transfers in the bath were so worn. I put my...
