This farm stay is just fantastic. We stayed with our 2 year old and she had the absolute best time here. There are 9 accommodation units varying in the number of rooms per unit (some units are adjoining so you can have large family groups together). We stayed in the Kirribilli 2 bedroom unit (sleeps up to 6 people). It is very modern, beautifully set up, immaculately clean and has everything you need including kitchen if you want to cook for yourself (portacot and high chair included). The kitchen and lounge are in one big spacious room. A separate large bathroom with toilet is off the corridor. We were welcomed with freshly baked homemade bread which was just delicious, making a lovely personal touch. The farm itself is very well maintained, you can see the pride in the place of the efforts of Kath and Merv. The animals are all happy and well looked after. Feeding of the animals in the late afternoon is great fun for young and old, make sure you wear shoes you don't mind getting poop on. You can wonder around the farm in between feeding but staying behind the fence to view at a safe distance. The views around the property are just picturesque and the Avon River is a very short walk down the back of the farm. There is a kids playground with swings, playhouse, treehouse of sorts and a trampoline. York township is 10 minutes drive away. Lavendale Farmstay is a great holiday getting back amongst nature, animals away from the hustle and bustle of Perth. Highly recommend, we will be back for sure

We are 4 adults and 2 boys, had a wonderful 2 nights stay at Kirribilli cottage. Warm & cozy during winter starry nights. All kitchen amenities provided and a bbq outside for dinner. Well equipped, peaceful surrounds, friendly animals, lovely hosts Katherine & Merv. We took a walk by the river as suggested, excellent advice as we had a great time with many photos. We hope to return, soon.

We just returned from an amazing long weekend at Lavendale Farm. Farmer Katherine and Merv were so lovely and accommodating. We stayed in the Bali Hai family chalet and the accommodation was spotless with amazingly comfortable bedding and everything we needed for cooking. The homemade bread and fresh eggs were a bonus and our kids age 4 & 6 thought these were great. My kids just loved feeding time every evening and going for a hay ride. They were even lucky enough to milk a goat one morning and brush the ponies and donkeys. Farmer Katherine even helped my son and husband feed BB the ostrich, as they are both terrified of birds. Katherine and Merv were fantastic hosts and made every evening interesting. My son cried the last night because he was so sad to leave his mate Eric the donkey and my daughter was so sad on the last morning because she wanted to live on the farm forever. We would highly recommend this farm stay and as a bonus it’s only an hour and a half from Perth!!!

During our one-night stay at the farm, we experienced by far the best hospitality we had in Perth from Katherine and Merv. Though our stay was short, we had truly an authentic and rich time with the animals and got to try our hands at daily tasks on the farm (milking the goats, feeding them, brushing the ponies). They were very knowledgeable and had many stories to share about each animal. (P.S. look out for Ralph the ginger cat - he’s super friendly) Katherine and Merv have really adapted the living space to different seasons of the year. The rooms are cosy and beds are definitely comfortable to sleep in. We had 3 home-cooked meals (lunch, dinner and breakfast) during our stay, all of which never failed to give us a sense of home and their kind hospitality. I would love to get the recipe for their custard croissant dessert. Don’t sleep too early because from 11pm onwards, the night sky is literally filled with stars and we were lucky to have spotted a shooting star that night. At midnight, the sky is the darkest and the stars are the brightest. I would recommended bringing along a telescope or a suitable camera to capture this beauty. Overall, we really wish we could extend our stay and have more lovely conservations with Katherine and Merv. Highly recommended and a must-see must-do must-go place. About 1.5hrs drive from Perth CBD but it is definitely worth it (get some fly nets along the way)

About an hour and a half drive from Perth international airport, Lavendale Farm is owed by farmer Katherine and farmer Merv who work the farm by themselves. There are various cottage sizes to cater for different family sizes which can take a total of forty plus people. We were fortunate to be the only family on the property and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful countryside with the various animals. Both Katherine and Merv were very hospitable and shared about their animals and orchard. They have a sandalwood plantation, nut farm and some fruit trees besides their sheep, goats, donkeys, horses, chooks, pigs, alpacas, geese, turkeys, ducks, ostrich, cow, etc We had a fun time feeding some of the animals and learning more about them. Rose cottage, as the name suggests, had a frontage of roses; and was small, clean and cozy. A freshly baked loaf of bread and eggs awaited us in the cottage. Driving directions were very accurate which made it easy to locate the farm. The city of York is about a ten minutes drive and you could get a meal there, do some shopping at the IGA supermarket or even get some souvenirs. Great place to relax and be with nature. Get to walk along the river on their property. Kids can play at the playground. Enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Highly recommended. The only thing that did not work was the internet access though we had the Lycamobile and Yes Optus SIM cards. But then again, it forced us to just relax. They did have a dongle for internet access but we did not make use of it.

We have just returned from three wonderful days at Lavendale Farm. The weather wasn't very kind to us at first but the welcome at Lavendale was warm with a lovely freshly baked loaf of bread on our kitchen table, fresh eggs and lemons in our basket. We soon had the fire going and settled into our perfectly clean, comfortable Bali Hai cottage with the well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds with lovely fresh linen and snowy white towels. Helping to feed the animals was a wonderful experience for my 2 and 3 year old grandchildren and for us too. The tractor ride was fun and the children took their jobs very seriously making sure all the animals got their food and Farmer Katherine and Farmer Merv were excellent hosts, happily answering all our questions and were so very kind and encouraging with our children. Juliet the goat gave birth to twin kids and we were able to see the newborns within an hour of them being born. Our three year miss was invited by Farmer Katherine to choose their names which are Nick and Noodles. The weather improved and the children loved playing in the adventure playground and meeting other children. Sadly the days went by too quickly and before we knew it we were saying our goodbyes but not for too long hopefully as we shall definitely be back to experience farm life only a short distance from our busy Perth hometown. Congratulations Farmer Katherine and Farmer Merv, you've created a fantastic farm stay holiday with those small extras which made it a real holiday for us.

We stayed at the Rose Cottage and it looked nice although extremely small. Had a loaf of bread on our arrival, which is good (but nothing else). To escape the cold, we closed the bathroom window and had to pay for it, with a sleepless night. The odor from the bathroom was just unbearable. All attempts to open the locked room window failed. Quite a few restrictions and no value for money (150 per night). The surroundings are similar to any other farm.

I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We welcome guests letting us know if there were any problems. We live on site and will always do our best to help you. Now that we are aware of the problem in the bathroom, we can do something about it. We do not lock our windows, but sometimes the catches can be tricky.
