Faversham House was built by the pioneering Monger family circa 1840 and is one of Western Australia's oldest privately owned colonial mansions. The manor has been lovingly restored and furnished with Victorian-style décor to offer a blend of 21st-century comfort and 19th-century charm. The care and custody of this iconic property recently passed to new owners Emerson Munro and Kimberley Anning. With seven manor rooms and two additional ensuite rooms in the servants' courtyard, Faversham is the perfect place to host a family reunion, get together with friends, or have a romantic retreat. Explore the delights of the Avon Valley's wildflowers, heritage towns, hot air ballooning and nature walks ... or just relax and soak up the atmosphere at Faversham. The new owners invite you to turn off your mobile phone and step back in time as you sit by the fire in the drawing room, explore the books in the library, or indulge in some old-fashioned games in the parlour. Don't be surprised if you find Emerson strumming the harp or Kimberley playing the guitar by the fire.

Detailed Reviews
Faversham House and its hosts offered one of the best travelling experiences I‘ve ever had. The huge manner brings back that sparkle of the good old english times. I had to remind myself a bunch, that this is still Australia. Every piece of furniture seems unique and carefully selected. The rooms are filled with warm light and colour - also, with the hosts hearts. You will not be alone if you don‘t want to. I got lucky and even made friends. It‘s a house where people come together. It‘s a place where you get to talk. It‘s a choice. - Also, it‘s a home for art, for music and musicians. Just wander around, explore the paintings and listen to a harp accompanied by a bass. Have a granola in the morning and feel the breeze of a piano playing. Faversham House is unique and special - a place full of love, humour, values and good manners. I hope you will enjoy all those gifts as much as I did for few wonderful days in Australias late summer.

Property's Favourite Review
From the moment we rang Faversham House to enquire about a last minute booking, we felt very welcomed and well looked after. Emerson and Kim are exceptional hosts who go above and beyond to make a visit to their home a truly special, comfortable, and unique experience. Their musical and artistic talents cannot be overstated, and add a great deal of joy to the experience.
Faversham House is a fantastic, large, historical fantastic building, which offers lots of extras, but the most magical part is that the owners make you feel so relaxed and at home there.
The addition of casual, exceptionally-talented live music was the most surprising treat and we didn’t want to leave!
The food provided in the setting of a large, regal banquet hall ( which also feels very homely) exquisite, and beautifully-presented.
Having traveled extensively, I have often been disappointed when visiting places touted to be “unique stays”. Staying at Faversham House however, was a wonderfully unexpected, rare, and joyous treat for my partner and I.
We can’t fault it , and would like to thank Emerson and Kim for the experience ! We will be back to visit again very soon :)

This place is just so lovely. It’s a wonderful place to just go and stay at to relax, away from work and the city life. The rooms are so charming and the beds are amazing, so comfy and the pillows too. We had an ensuite room and it’s just what you need and very clean. The history of this place is so interesting. I just loved walking around the grounds whilst sipping a glass of wine or sitting on the balcony overlooking mount brown. We ordered a charcuterie board and it was amazing, it was so large and the food was delicious. The bottle of red wine was great quality. The breakfast is a very nice cooked breakfast with continental as well . You can go for a lovely walk into town as it’s only a few minutes away. I can’t fault this place this is our third stay. The service is great and the owners Emerson and Kim are so lovely and friendly. If you’re lucky you may hear them play some of their instruments. They are Very talented musicians. This will definitely be my go to place for rest and relaxation.

Step back in time, leave your worries behind you and relax. This is an amazingly elegant and comfortable home decorated in the appropriate era for this stately home. Gorgeous linens, sumptuous drapes and lovely antiques pieces compliment each rooms decor. Head downstairs to the dining room, the drawing room or the library. Possibly meet up with the elegant and entertaining Emerson or perhaps catch up with the talented Kim, while he plays one of the instruments in the drawing room, or dining room. This is an experience not to be missed. The gardens are sensational too, and the breakfasts are simply superb. Thank you so much Emerson and Kim.

I arrived at Faversham House hoping for a little respite from a sad and stressful situation and I could not have chosen a better haven. Not only is the house beautiful - both grand and homely - but the hosts at Faversham House so welcoming and so professional. I felt I had landed exactly where I needed to be.
The room was comfortable and luxurious. I spent a couple of hours enjoying the winter afternoon sun on the upstairs verandah and another hour or two in the evening by a roaring fire in good company in the sitting room.
After one of the most delicious breakfasts ever, and a walk around the grounds, I left feeling renewed and cared for.
Thank you Emerson and Kim.

Thanks to Coldplay's popularity, we were unable to find a hotel in Perth at the end of November, and we were fortunate to discover Faversham House, one hour from Perth International Airport. What serendipity! Emerson and Kim are the most wonderful hosts who embraced us with kindness and warmth from the second we arrived! The accommodation was perfect, and the history of the house and the environs of York is fascinating. We enjoyed our stay so much we just had to return in early December after our camper van adventure around WA. Second time around was even more enjoyable with some musical interludes. Many thanks and we cannot wait to return next year. John and Alison

We stayed one night and was a fantastic experience. This is definitely a boutique hotel including a excellent breakfast prepared by the hosts. The hotel lets you step back in time. We were welcomed by the hosts and shown the hotel with its lounge and wine cellar and beautiful library. Perfect place to relax . I wouldn’t recommend it for young kids , no TV or games room.
It’s definitely a great experience .

Long table breakfast brings the past into a new day. Glorious sunrise with Mount Brown from the balcony. Golden canola fields to view. Library to relax when needed amongst the musical instruments displayed prominently that made our two night stay so enjoyable.
