Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just had the most wonderful three days at Avalon Homestead for a quilters retreat. The accommodation was lovely with each room having their own ensuite. The food was cooked by the owners and was varied, nutritious and delicious. Plus decadent sweets provided with lunch and dinner. They catered for everyone's dietary needs.
The room we enjoyed for our craft was roomy and had everything we needed including beautiful views of the Avon Valley. Definitely going back. Thank you Delveen and Peter. Your hospitality was second to none.

I’ve just stayed for the first time at Avalon. Quilting friends and I stayed for 5 nights and were totally spoilt by hosts Peter and Delveen. The rooms are spotlessly clean and everything you could possibly need is provided. The main meeting/craft room is well set up and meals are excellent: fresh, healthy main courses and indulgent desserts. I highly recommend a stay.

This is a great place for a group of people with a hobby to get away. We come here as a scrapbooking community of over 20 people. We have a large room all set up where we can leave our things spread out the whole time we are here. No packing away every night. There is no curfew or time limit so we stay up till we can’t keep our eyes open!! The meals are absolutely delicious and cater for all dietary requirements. The owners Peter and Delvene are beautiful friendly people. A highlight for me apart from the beautiful view of mountains and fresh air but also the pet goats that we were lucky enough to feed. Can’t wait to go back in April!!

Not having visited Toodyay for over twenty years it was a fascinating town with many attractions from butcher, Christmas, book and craft shops all friendly and pleasant staff.
The Avalon Homestead was welcoming, and well appointed in all necessities. The rooms had comfortable beds, en-suites and lovely details to colour and decorations.
We had excellent meals that were varied and well proportioned from roasts, bbq, fish salads, quiches, fresh fruit and desserts.
The position of the property allowed you to have walks and see the surrounding landscape although you need to be aware of the gravel road hazards. The hosts, Peter and Delvine were extremely pleasant and helpful.
I would be happy to return at any time and will be next October!

I have been to Avalon half a dozen times now.
I can’t recommend Avalon enough.
The food is 5 star with Peter never failing to impress.
Delveen is always on hand to lend a hand or just check all is going well.
This retreat is a 6 day retreat for our craft group, we all get excited when we know what is for lunch or dinner.
Bbq night is always my favourite , stuffed potatoes ,steak , sausages and plenty of salads to pick from and pavlova for desert.
It is a beautiful place to unwind and relax.
Definitely a beautiful place to relax and have fun and top quality meals .

My friend and I have just returned from our first quilting retreat at Avalon Homestead. It was a great experience, we loved every minute especially being able to look out of the window at the beautiful views while sewing. We enjoyed the lovely food and good company, and happy hour outside around the fire. Thank you Delveen and Peter for your hospitality, we will definitely be back!

We only stayed the 1 night, but wish it was for longer. Avalon Homestead is fantastic. Soooo quiet and peaceful. Delveen and Peter are welcoming and very friendly. So easy to talk to. They are very informative, and able to give info on the local area. OHHHH, and dinner....Peter did a roast pork and roast chicken with the freshest vegetables, and the best cauliflower cheese. Honestly reminded me of mums. It was delicious. YES, we both went back for 2nds. The views are beautiful. The rooms are well equipped. Very clean. Will highly recommend Avalon to everyone. Hats off to Delveen and Peter, you have presented an exceptional holiday escape. Thank you. Wayne and Tina.

This B&B is very neat and tidy, and the food was great. What really makes it enjoyable is the homely atmosphere created by the owners Peter and Delvene. I worked in Toodyay for a week and stayed here and would definitely come back and stay myself :)

Thank you Delveen & Peter for a wonderful stay at your beautiful retreat. The food prepared by Peter was the best. And Delveen is such a great host. The setting is very picturesque and peaceful. The rooms very comfortable and lovely homely decorations in every nook and cranny of the homestead. Will be looking forward to next year.
