Cheela Plains Station is a family owned cattle station located a short 900 metres off the bitumen highway between Karijini National Park and Ningaloo Reef. We offer shady campground sites set around an oasis of lush green, wilderness bush campsites in the Beasley Gorge, rooms, self-drive trails, Red Plains Cafe and Telstra mobile coverage, just to name a few. It is the perfect stop between the reef and ranges if looking to just stop and stretch your legs while enjoying a cuppa with our delicious in-house made carrot cake or to stay for one or more nights and discover our 400 million year Geological Time Trail marking the Great Oxidation Event. Team Cheela welcomes guests to connect with the West Australian Pilbara and all the rugged landscape has to offer. Settle in for a magnificent sunset, and while around the campfire witness the Southern Hemisphere night sky come to life. Open seasonally from April 1 – October 31, each year.

We were welcomed by wonderful people, Suzi and Col were so lovely very accommodating and helpful. Nice clean facilities I highly recommend staying here. Great 4wd tracks to do and a walk to the cave (take lots of water) so happy we decided to stop here it is well worth it.

This is the second time we have stayed at the station and it was as good as the first time. You can drive past it if you're not careful so pin it in your sat-nav before leaving. The station has put out more signs on the road, as you approach the station but pin it anyway. It's a great place to stay for a day or more. We stayed for three days at Mussel Pool, approximately 35 kilometres from the homestead. If you are looking for a place to get lost for a few days, this is one of them. One of the things we appreciated is that although other visitors were at the station, there was no overcrowding. Check it out for yourself.

Excellent visit that we came back for more!! Enjoyable stay with young family. Stay, Showers and toilet was immaculate, even higher standards than some other accomodation in Karijini. The team were phenomenal at Cheela Plains especially camp hosts Suzi, Colin and Janine who were most hospitable. Nightly camp fires were a daily attraction for campers from 530 onwards. Campers spoilt with either burger nights or a sit down dinner which was delicious after a day of travelling or exploring the area. Speak to the camp hosts and do explore the area - Mussel pool is a must visit in the area for the day! Well done and thank you to the team at Cheela for the enjoyable stays.

I have never felt so happy and relaxed in a place since arriving in Australia 30 years ago. The staff were amazing, many thanks to Colin and Sue and the wonderful Morris who showed us Pelican Falls. Galveston 2 days ever spent. Time, locating, scenery: oh and Jarrad, while was kind and generous. Thank you everyone.

We only had one night at Cheela, and to be honest, I was nervous! But I needn't have been. It was professionally run and a great experience. I could probably have stayed 2 nights. We weren't camping, we stayed in Plainsview lodge. It was a motel style room, but it was clean and had a lovely balcony you could sit on and chill. The camp fire every night is a good way to get people together and chatting and we really enjoyed that. Dinner was good too. I'd stay here again for sure.
