Long journey and needed to stay somewhere enroute at very last minute. Booked a family room about an hour before arrival. Owners helpful, accommodation basic but clean.
Breakfast included and we were given the continental breakfast items to put in the fridge the night before as apparently due to COVID restriction they did not serve in dining room. The next morning while cooking our toast we found mouse droppings on a plate in our kitchenette. I took the offending plate to the owners as we checked out. She asked why I had not told her sooner. I pointed out that we had just had breakfast and had not checked the cutlery and crockery when we checked in the night before. The hand towel was very thin but hand soap provided. Overall it was clean and somewhere to stay, but felt over priced.
Quiet area and could park the car by the room.
A short walk to the riverside pub for dinner (about 10 mins just across the bridge) which was fabulous.

First time staying at the motel. I booked the executive room $140 per night ,These rooms are looking a bit tired and could do with renovating . The good : Comfy clean bed , good tv , good WiFi , Microwave. The bad : Thread bare towels, that don’t get changed put my dirty towel on the floor near the shower thinking it would be swapped for a clean one ,only to find it folded on the towel rack later that night. very noisy Aircon (old single unit hole in the wall type) overpriced for what they are.

From the outside this hotel looks a bit tired and dingy, but it was recommended to me by a local. I was really surprised to open the door and see a beautifully renovated room with all new appliances and plush bedding. The most comfortable bed and bedding I have come across in my business travels through the wheat belt. The room was small but for a solo traveller I was very comfortable. It also had a balcony which overlooked a car park, but in warmer weather would be a shady place to chill out.

Where do I begin! Perhaps the fact that when the rest of the accommodation in town was booked out, while there were plenty of vacancies in this motel, should have told us something.
The motel room and bathroom are shabby and need a complete renovation. The window ledge in bathroom has evidently never been cleaned and had a collection of dead insects. The toilet seat lid is cracked. The shower curtain is too long. The shower head needs replacing with a more efficient water wise one. Both washers in the shower taps need replacing as they have to been turned off incredibly tightly in order to stop dripping. There were roughly 10 sheets left on the toilet roll - fortunately we had brought a roll with us. There were no spare rolls in the bathroom drawers.
There is no security on the back door at all - chain or lock. The cleaner knocked, but then walked in before we could reply or get to the door.
There’s a nail hidden in the chair, which could easily result in an injury. There are no coat hangers in the wardrobe. The aircon is noisy and outdated.
We have stayed at this motel in the past some years ago. After this experience we will not stay again.

What a night!
Absolutely terrible!!!
Indigenous of another country people on full swing . Responsible drunk parents, don't forgot intimidating and fowl language. Of course ringing the non existent reception resulted in
'fend for yourself'.
Earlier in the night we had already rung reception and they asked them to keep it down. 11.00 music begins, swearing laughing,12.30 again and finally the great cresendo at
2.07 AM!!!
GEE,
thanks reception
Thanks Northam Motel
What a great way to start my holidays.
CRAP.

The hotel room was pleasant beds were nice and firm.
The room was a little dated but no real issue.
The problem was the piss poor attitude of the front counter. We asked for a late checkout. We were even willing and offered to pay extra to check out late. But the rude arrogant person on the front counter.
The price was so over inflated for what we got. $130 for the night in a hotel with 30+ rooms and only about 5-10 people staying there(from what we could gauge with the amount t of cars parked up)

Old buildings, but clean enough. Problem was cleaning staff in morning, banging loudly on door, then yelled at us for not getting out of room quick enough. There was no check out time written anywhere.

I was really disgusted with this accommodation it was filthy dirty and very outdated! We couldn’t even use some of the bedding provided it had stains and hair on! Eww... that gross we went and bought cleaning supplies to clean things first so we could use them! Not only that but we felt violated when we found out someone had been in our room while we were out and through our belongings all they did was take the rubbish not stock anything up or change linen etc and they mistakenly too our dirty laundry too which we had been using a plastic bag we did eventually get back after some stuffing around but not the point! I would definitely not recommend it very over priced for what you get! I could go on but i think you will get the point! I couldn’t wait to leave!

usually grea service from owner. Rooms are smaill but sufficient for short term stays. However when the owner is away and others are in charge the service is rude and this has ruined my opinion of this hotel

After 'average' service at one of the other establishments in the main street, I tried Northam Motel. Best service in town! The basic rooms are basic but clean at ca $100, the deluxe rooms are motel standards at $140 per night. The Asian owners, Charlotte and Sharon, are super friendly and helpful, the weekend staff can be somewhat abrupt. Quiet part of town but still within 10 min walking distance from the shops in the main street. Lovely walking trails on the banks of the Avon River minutes from the motel should you be staying for a weekend. Book early, however, the regulars fill up the bookings quite quickly...
