A group of us have been caravaning together for 18 years and this was out first trip to Experience Lancelin Holiday Park. It’s a fantastic park in a superb location. From the start to the end everything was great. The staff that handled the bookings were so organized. We weren’t presented with a thousand killjoy rules. There were so many families with small children and dogs and everyone was having a ball. There’s a great indoor pool and spa. Although l, I could say the spa could be just a tiny tad warmer. But it was huge. There’s also a very large grass area for activities. The park is kept extremely clean. The camp kitchen was one of the best I’ve seen and a perfect spot to sit and watch the beautiful sunsets go down. We did have a water outage in the morning but the park was quick to text guests and let them know and it was resolved quite quickly. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to have the ablutions cleaned a little earlier in the morning. They were being cleaned at 9am on the first morning when the park was very full and a lot of people were heading to the ablution block and being turned around. But overall I give this park too marks. Can’t wait to go back.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review, we are so glad to hear you had a great time! We also appreciate the feedback re: cleaning - we are currently in the process of developing a new Housekeeping Team and Roster so this will hopefully help. We would love to have you all back and hope you are able to join us! We were also very lucky the weather was so fabulous for the first two days of the long weekend too! See you again soon, Jaime

Stayed with a bunch of friends for the weekend.
Lovely setting adjacent to the beach,
Modern and clean facilities though we were a good 100m to the bathrooms which wasn’t ideal for the middle of the night.
Cafe across the toad and the pub 10 minutes walk away (pub is amazing with beautiful grasses beer garden overlooking the ocean and dog friendly)
Less than 2 hours north of Perth

Thanks for your feed back Gordon. Offshore is a great place for coffee and brekky/lunch. And you're right - the beer garden at the Endeavour Tavern is the best in the West :) Hopefully we'll see you again Lancelin soon. Jaime

Cabin review.
These cabins are very popular and there’s only 8 so book way in advance.
They are clean, modern, comfortable self contained cabins which sleep up to 5 ppl in 2 bedrooms.
A lot of cabins in other parks have bunks which the kids love and it means they can both bring friends. I’d like to see this here.

Parking is about 50m away from the cabins. Not a huge deal until you start lugging car fridges and eskies across in the rain.

The large jumping pillow is a highlight for the kids as is the huge indoor pool and spa. There’s some pretty strict rules to keep safety at bay in the pool, yet no one seemed to enforce them as we had 5-6 teenagers running, jumping, yelling and throwing balls around, which wasn’t part of the deal for the small kids.

There is also an activity room which is kind of boring. We only went in due to the rain, but there wasn’t a lot to do compared to many other parks.

A flyer in the cabin says you can pay $20 for a late checkout. I went to pay and was told it wasn’t for the cabins.

Ok, so getting down to it…. we paid more than we’ve paid for any caravan park cabin in WA during an off peak period. The staff were A1, everything was clean and tidy, but based on value for money we probably won’t do it again. I think 20% less would’ve been a fair price and more in line with other places.

The location is amazing, staff is very friendly and did try to help us to the best of their ability when we arrived and complained about the tent sites we were given, but they were fully booked and couldn't really move us anywhere else so we understand there wasn't much they could do. So if you are camping with a tent, better to stay clear of sites 77 and 87, SPECIALLY 77; we booked both as being GRASS but there was very little of that - it was gravel, dirt and rocks and extremely uneven, with a huge pocket right in the middle which caused our tent fabric, poles and pegs to cope with more force than they should. the upper pole snapped and punctured the fly cover on the first night as it was stretching a lot due to the pocket on the ground. finding good spots for the mattresses inside the tent was also a challenge as it was just uneven everywhere. We are experienced campers and brought some tarps to cover the ground of course but that didn't help much; while others around us had their feet on cool grass, we had to cope with a lot of dirt and gravel. The bathrooms in this lower part of the site were in need of attention - broken showers, hot water was a mystery - sometimes worked and some times didn't, which was ok for adults but tricky with the kids; they weren't very clean either. however in the upper side of the camp near the kitchen amenities the bathrooms were clean and much nicer so we used those a few times but they were a fair walk from our site. The other issue with these 2 sites is that they were right next to some site lights that, to our surprise, were left on all night long, with EXTREMELY bright lights; we have a decent tent but the lights were so strong we didn't even need our torches; it was almost like sleeping during the day. We've been to many other parks that turn their lights off after 10pm, leaving only the indoor lights on for those who need the restroom in the middle of the night.
At least the kitchen and pool area were really good. The playground for the kids was unusable during high UV times as there is absolutely no shade.
We will probably come back, but to stay on the upper side near the kitchen where the sites and amenities are all well looked after. So again, if you want a little bit of comfort in your camping trip, stay away from sites 77 and 87.

Thank you for your review - I hope my answers below will clarify a few things for you: Sites 77 & 87 have been relevelled and covered with shade cloth in order to accommodate tents, swags and camper trailers. The ablutions you refer to are being replaced this year with new ones, this was meant to be done sooner however a delay in resources and materials put this project on hold last year. In relation to the play ground, we are also erecting shade sails over this space - again approval and resources have delayed this project but it will be complete in the next couple of months and ready for the next Summer period. It is a safety requirement to leave the lights on in the areas they are currently placed, we can therefore not turn them off I'm afraid.

Great location and good size concrete van sites, Ablutions are built for short people, clean but very small and hard not to keep your change gear dry. Friendly staff and eager to assist. The southern end of the park looks a better setup close to the beach.
Great food at the LBH pub Sand dunes epic

Thank you so much for your feedback, it is always appreciated. We will be installing new ablutions in the future which will solve the current problems you'd stated as we are aware there needs to be improvements in that space. Glad to hear you enjoyed Lancelin though - we hope to see you again soon.

We were really looking forward to our holiday at Lancelin Holiday Park because of the indoor pool, nice new camp kitchen and great location. We were put near the playground and pool because we have little kids, which I though was thoughtful. But we realised the camp kitchen which was walking distance from our tent was in a small donga, the nice big new one was driving distance from our site. We used the spa in the pool with our kids and when we got out, we were shocked to realise the water had completely bleached my husband's board shorts (photo attached, they were blue before), then there was no shower nearby to rinse the strong chlorine off the kids. The shower in the ablution block would only go all the way hot or all the way cold. I got it adjusted to just bareably cool enough but the pressure was then so strong it was spraying all over the cubicle so I had to leave my clothes on the sink outside the shower cubicle and get dressed out there too so they weren't saturated. Overall, a lot of money has been spent on making the place look nice but not a lot of thought has gone into the usability of the park.

Our stay was plagued with problems the whole 9 nights. On a plus the girls in reception were friendly, empathetic and tried to resolve issues which required outside help.
We booked 8 months in advance and requested a site near the entrance and an ablution block th assist with my disability. I phoned the day before. No notes were in our booking and se were reallocated to the back of the park. Our site was difficult to park an and had to reverse our van down the road when leaving. While the new ( clean, big) ablution block was nearby for able bodied people it was too far for me.
When we went to empty our toilet cassette in the town dump found it was out of order. We were advised to go to Ledge Point where the caravan park let us use theirs but said not to come back.
When the shire office opened a couple of days later we were told the dump wouldn’t be fixed for at least a week and we’re sent this a roadside dump 20 mins north. Notified staff at the park so they could tell other customers. Unfortunately someone either didn’t know or didn’t care and dumped in a men’s toilet blocking it up.
Next issue was no wifi for whole stay. After several visits to the office and making our own calls to providers found there was a problem with the towers. Others had reported same issue.
Noise is not controlled. We had neighbours who partied for over 24 hours with loud music sic and singing
Given these issues we hoped for some sort of compensation. Maybe a discount on our next visit already booked.
Thinking hard about booking elsewhere. Sad, because our previous visits have been great.
Lancelin has a lot to offer. Lovely beaches, great pub, and many activities

East camp has 3 portaloos and no laundry showers and camp kitchen are ages away in different directions. We were never given an option to go to the beach camp where there is more amenities. Workmen r doing renovation and started using a little backhoe digging and cutting metal pipes 1 meter from my where we were set up. Moved some of my hoses without permission and they came apart didnt give a hoot. Ended up leaving a huge hole at the back of my caravan and i had a child with me great safety. They closed off the family showers to bad if my husband wanted to shower my grandaughter

My wife and I camped here for a weekend. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Features include powered sites, water, ablution blocks, kitchen, swimming pool, bouncy mattress and activities for the kids. The campground was full but everyone respected quiet hours. Sites are close together with no privacy, but not a problem for us as we were out and about all day. While next to the beach, the place reeked of hydrogen sulphide (rotten egg smell) due to decaying seaweed on the beach. Apparently this is a seasonal occurrence but can be very uncomfortable for someone with respiratory problems - my wife for example. Finally, the ablution and laundry blockers are very run down with paint peeling off the walls, steel roof beams rusted through, old toilets; staff had trouble keeping toilets and showers clean.

Thank you for your review Michel - unfortunately the seaweed is not something ELHP can control, we need to leave that up to Mother Nature. In relation to the ablution block - I completely agree, I am pleased to report though that 2 new ablutions blocks will be installed this year in order to replace the old ones. They will include standard showers and toilets and also ensuite/family rooms contain shower, basin and toilet all in one. We are aware these amenities need updating - there has been a delay due to resources, we are working on it though.

Loved our stay for 3 nights. The beach is just stunning, the sunsets glorious and the whole town super friendly and welcoming. The site was spacious and yes, it was busy being a weekend but it is busy everywhere. Lots of well kept lawn and trees so nice and green. Very quiet at night so we slept in later than at home. The seasonal seaweed is mother nature and really can't smell it unless you walk up to it. but the birds love it. We saw a pod of dolphins and enjoyed the wind surfers. We swam, relaxed and slept better with all the sea air. The ablutions were super clean and while in need of updating were very adequate and no worse than others in caravan parks in rural areas. The huge indoor pool and a big spa was a bonus. We think it is great value. We would definitely recommend and would love to stay again being so close to Perth.
