Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I did a lot of searching for accommodation in Esperance and when I came across Eco Valley Retreat it was a no brainer choice. Only five minutes from town it is 7 acres of trees and little lake and a lovely retreat to come back to each day.

The studio unit is spacious and had everything we could want. Everything is good quality and was a perfect place for our five day stay. We didn’t have a dog with us but well behaved fur babies are welcome. This would make it a pretty unique place for those who can’t leave Fido at home.

There was access to a laundry which was also very handy.

Tina was great in responding to my emails and on arrival provided us with lots of information of places to sightsee or eat. The chooks and bees were cooperating so we received eggs and honey on arrival. The honey was the best I have had so Tina gave me a little tasting and I bought a big tub of the freshest honey to take home with me.

When returning to Esperance I know where I will be staying.

Very clean & tidy self contained unit that had everything you could possibly need. Comfy bed. Beautiful surroundings, with plenty of space to walk the dog. Walking distance to centre of town (took Milo & I about 40 minutes). Hosts were very helpful & friendly (but not too friendly or over the top which is great). Everything was perfect & we look forward to staying again next time we head to Esperance.

This is a corker of a place, especially if you are travelling with dogs. It is truly 'dog friendly' and the owners have gone the extra distance by providing a secure kennel to leave the dogs when you visit Esperance's stunning national parks. But it's also a lovely, quiet and truly 'eco'' property, with well appointed and stylish ground floor units, and friendly interesting hosts. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Esperance but especially those travelling with dogs. Great place - very happy to have found if and just sorry we couldn't stay longer.

I took a road trip with my dog a year or so ago and was happy to find a place that allowed my dog there. Esperance is a wonderful part of the world and to find somewhere so beautiful to stay, my dog allowed inside with me was just fantastic!
Not only are the rooms clean, well presented and staff extremely friendly but the entire establishment is evironmentally sustainable and absolutely beautiful! Walking the grounds was bliss and I couldn’t have been happier. I can’t wait to come back to stay again!

The Eco Valley lodge has only two units. They are well presented and the owners are a pleasant and generous couple who make you very welcome. It is dog friendly so you can bring your pooch along and there are facilities in which to leave the dog when you visit the nearby national parks. Highly recommended.

From the get go Winton and Tina couldnt have been more accommodating or delighful. They made our stay, as they provided us with insightful information into the region and hints and tips for the best spots to see, eat at and swim in. I cannot thank you guys enough for all your help and guidance.

The accommodation itself overlooks a beautiful green landscape, full of fruit trees, a watering dam and ducks swimming. The suite is spotless and has all the necessities for a comfortable stay. We cooked a few evenings and had dinner on the veranda, it was very peaceful. There is nothing I can fault and look forward to coming back to stay again!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. We wish we had known it was your birthday as we like to put chocolates in the unit for anyone celebrating a special occasion. All the best for the rest of the year and hope to see you again. Tina and Winton (& Oden!)

EcoValley Retreat is located about 10 minutes out of Esperance in the locality of Pink Lakes. To get there, GPS maps get it all wrong, so obtain a street map and head for Pink Lakes town centre, then follow Pink Lakes Rd until you get to Valley Rd on the right. At the end of the road is the entry, which is an unsealed bush track. The facility is run and owned by Winton and Tina and comprises a secluded two storey timber building with the guest rooms facing the small valley. The building is located on a ridge, so the views from the rooms capture the green, lush tree canopy in the valley. The owners are very friendly and caring. As the name suggests, the retreat is eco friendly. All power comes from solar panels, wind turbines or backup generator that runs on recycled bio-diesel. There is satellite TV in the rooms. You can bring your dog and even leave it in a sheltered roomy kennel at the side of the house if you want to venture out to Nature Reserves. The rooms have a new fresh feel about them, are well equipped, clean and the kitchen fully equipped with microwave, gas stove and grill, dishwasher and fridge. Plenty of utensils for self catering. There is also a common laundry. The exterior is basic rural, but the rooms are very smart. The beaches, of which there are many are ten minutes away. Great walks that you take a dog on. Recommend the Rotary Club walk on the cliffs at the lookout. Fabulous scenery! Highly recommended.

Booked EcoValley Retreat and arranged to take our dog...what a great decision! We all had a fabulous time, free range eggs and honey was supplied for breakfast. Hosts were brilliant, even lending us their car when ours had a slight tyre issue and we had to wait for two to be trucked from Perth!

We had a lovely few days in Esperance with our 7 month old labrador and EcoValley Retreat was the perfect place to stay. Dougal was treated like one of the family and it was fantastic to have the freedom to leave him safely at the accommodation so we could check out the national parks and go out for dinner. The room was clean and modern, with everything we needed, and the view beautiful and peaceful. By the end of our trip Dougal was exhausted and slept all the way home! Highly recommend if you are holidaying with dogs.

Lovely place to stay with very welcoming hosts Tina and Winton.
we had a ball staying here and to be able to leave our dog in the sheltered dog kennels they have, made our trip to the NP a lot easier.
Accommodation was clean, organised and had all we needed for a getaway.
Would come down again and stay here, the view from the cabin is beautiful. Very relaxing
