We hired the whole house.
The whole place feels very beach shack and is very close to the beach and town. Fabulous
We had 3 couples staying in the whole house and there was plenty of room. The walls that separates the front from middle bedroom is really thin, that could get a little awks i should imagine ..lols
There are tonnes of fans and heaters around, enough for everyone. Two cots (one in the front room and one in the furthest back room). Plenty of cupboards and draws everywhere.
The bedrooms themselves were spacious, we all had our own bathrooms, tonnes of living space with two lounge rooms and two dinning rooms (well, one is part of the back lounge).
Two front doors (??) if you rent the front part of the house and one sliding door on the side if you rent the back part of the house.
The main kitchen is spacious and large (although no baking trays???? Y?) and between both kitchens there was plenty of equipment for us to use for our stay and the table had obviously had some paper stuck on it and the lacquer removed when someone tried to clean it (paper remained, lacquer gone! lols). The table does extend so there is plenty of room, bench space for preparing food and tonnes of seats to sit on.
The lounge out the back is fabulous, we ended us spending time in that one in the evenings. The front one looks nice, but the lounge is an old one. They have put chipboard under the cushions so everyone got a lovely surprise when they first sat down! lols.. very hard.
It feels like they have used plaster board to make up rooms and it is done well. There is an interesting assortment of locks on every door (??) inside the house and doors that are blocked up by furniture so it became a game to figure out how the house may have been configured previously and why! lols...
The place seems spacious with plenty of room in every area for everyone.
We enjoyed our stay here for the quirkiness of it all.

However, as previous reviews .. the house was filthy, food (and water?? go figure) on the plates in the cupboards, filth and food scraps on the shelves in the kitchen, bathrooms, draws in the bedrooms, and even the guys wouldn't shower without scrubbing the showers out first! :o0 (must have been bad! lols)
We tried to open up all the windows (tonnes of dust and dead animals on the sills) and had difficulty as they were mostly stuck and some didn't have flywire.
We set too and cleaned out the kitchen and the bathrooms enough to feel comfortable to use them, but there was a major layer of dust on everything (wouldn't want to use the pot belly stoves for the first time in winter!)
Your feet get black walking on the floor boards so they obviously hadn't been moped in an eternity (no drama, i wore shoes).
Many, MANY spiders, mostly daddy-long-legs so as long as they left us alone, we left them too it .. everyone joked about showering with the critters!
The bathrooms were quite grubby with lots of spiders, globes not working or missing and shower heads that had seen better days (fabulously exciting trying to get under them enough to wash my hair ..lols).
The back garden and sitting/BBQ area looks fabulous but i wouldn't dare go anywhere near it as it was thick with spiders, grime and dust. Obviously hadn't been cleaned or used in a LONG time .. back garden was a tad overgrown but no drama there, it all added to the experience :).
The laundry is only in the back of the house. No washing machine at the front if you were only renting the front part of the house. The clothes line only has 2 small short lines left, but there was fold-up clothes racks to use.
The kitchen out the back is an extension of the laundry with a kettle, microwave and sink. No real cooking facilities or bench space for preparing food if you were only renting the back part. Might find that difficult if you had enough people to want to use two bedrooms.
The only time i was seriously grossed out was when i went to go to bed the first night and realised that the sheets had not been changed! Ewwwwwwww ...
luckily we found some spare sheets in the cupboard and changed them ourselves, but really? gross....

Would we stay again? Maybe, but would probably use the mop and bucket to totally clean the house first!
Would we recommend it? Maybe, but would definitely prepare the person for what they are going to walk into!

My husband and I stayed here for three nights over the Easter 2018 long weekend. Communication with the management was clear. We got the code arrived got the keys and were quite surprised by the size of the one bedroom side if the cottage. It was much bigger than we thought. The living area is large with a three seater and two one seater lounge, tv, DVD player, some movies, books and coffee table. Plenty of room for kits to set up play things. The bedroom is a good size with a double bed and cot and cupboard, and fan. The main area has an air conditioner. The linendooner and pillows are all clean and comfy. The bathroom has a bath and shower and is clean with plenty of hot water. Thenkitchen is fully equipped with enough utensils and cutlery for four as well as saucepans and washing up cloths and tea towels etc. microwave and kettle etc. coffee tea and sugar provided. Fridge was not in when we got there so we left our food in the esky for a couple of hours while it chilled up which was fine... but would be nice if it was on and cold. Dining area large with table and chairs for four.

The location is perfect... walking distance to town and the tourist bureau and foreshore...

The one bedroom apartment is the front part of the house... there is a two bedroom apartment at the back part of the house that is accessed through the side... so yiu have your own entry and parking area. Really appreciated the maps and tourist information made available too.

The only down side was that the walls are very thin and we could hear our neighbours clearly and they could hear us... but we were both respectful of each other and it didn't matter... we were all out all day anyway.. and the bit of chatter and. Kiss in the morning. They made was probably equalled by us... they didn't keep us up and we didn't wake them erc... not really a problem.... had there been a crying Babar or screaming children may have been a different story....

Overall I recommend this place to anyone wanting a good size one bedroom apartment in a great location with provision of everything you need to enjoy esperance

The bed was comfortable with clean linen. I prefer self catering and the unit has almost everything we needed. The bathroom and kitchen is very tired and there were cobwebs everywhere, in every room. We could hear the other units guests conversations and if dripping taps are torture, you've got it.

Absolutely horrible .
Every inch was filthy
Cobweb bugs and spiders everywhere.
Food and possibly blood from previous guest on furniture. Super noisy kids struggled to sleep with hearing next door all though the night
The furniture looked like it was picked up off the side of the road .
It needs a massive deep
Clean and proper maintenance obviously someone just wanting the money
Only plus side it was good
Location to town .

We booked the whole cottage for Easter 2019, we were a little worried having read previous poor reviews but were delighted with what we found. Everything was clean, the beds were very comfortable, kitchen well equipped, furniture in both lounges was perfect for our requirements. All the showers were hot and my plenty of water. It was great for us because we couldn’t park our car and boat off road. The cottage is walking distance to town and really close the foreshore. The decor is older but functional. Very spacious.

Great location with an easy 10-15min walk down down Dempster st to the shops. We had the whole house. The house might seem a bit old & dated but it fitted our needs perfectly in that we were able to house 6 adults close to town at a reasonable price. All the rooms were clean, fresh linen, and towels provided. Also not that far to walk down to the foreshore and during the week, the coffee cat coffee van.

Could this place be any dirtier. Grease and food scraps in cupboards and drawers, grease, bugs and leaves falling out of the exhaust fan over the oven, dirty dishes and cutlery and cookware, holes in the floor, windows all locked shut and no ventilation, rusted dish rack and rusty utensils all with food still in them. All the furniture looked like it had been picked up on roadside pick up up days. Lounge suits had all the springs one in them and someone had screwed boards to them to give them support. Not well looked after and obviously a grab for as much money for very little effort. No soap or coffee, 1 small towel per person, dirty bathroom and toilet . ewwwww
