Just about 2 hours of drive from Perth and we were at this beautiful green place hidden in the woods so quaint and quiet. The place has upside of getting you completely disconnected from the urban life however, if you don't want that, please note that my Optus network was not working there. My husband's Telstra was receiving signals and was our only way of connection to the outer world. Facility in itself was nice clean wooden cabin, ours was with the trees view which we totally loved.
This place is now called Noble River Estate. It used to do bed and breakfast and no longer does this. Instead it hires out all its chalets and the lodge. It is so peaceful, it is in the middle of the Jarrah forest with really old trees in it. We stayed in the Chuditch chalet with the forest right on one side - stunning. The chalet was lovely, lots of timber, secluded, two storey, two bedrooms: one with a double bed, one with bunk beds (2 single beds) and a separate single bed, with views over the forest. Excellent kitchen facilities, excellent freezer and fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, hairdryer, dining table, lounge, extensive DVDs to watch, outside balcony and more. Only drawback was the bedroom was upstairs and the toilet and bathroom downstairs. Also the sound carries right through the chalet and the shower is a little on the small size for a very large person. We will certainly be back if we get the chance. We paid $210 per nite and stayed for 2 nites on a weekend. Also some lovely forest walks on the property. Be a great place for a retreat or a wedding or just a lovely holiday.…
What a wonderful tranquil location set amongst the forest in Dwellingup, with an abundance of wildlife, Kangaroos, birds, rabbits roaming the grounds at sunrise & sunset with many feeding from the hand. Our group of 17 seniors stayed for 2 nights, occupying the main building (5 star rating) & two of the chalets .We came together in the main building which has a big kitchen & dining area together with a lounge section by the fire to relax, all in all excellent accommodation. The grassed area & surrounding bush together with the lake in front of the buildings provides a venue to relax & Margaret our host could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. If there was a downside our stay was not long enough.
Booked to stay here weeks in advance, and a week before arrival they emailed and cancelled saying they had double booked our chalet and that they had no chalets left. I then emailed them for an explanation and for them to work something out as I had already booked non refundable activities in dwellingup for the weekend, and every other place I tried (because it was at such short notice) was already fully booked out. I also explained that this to me was unacceptable service. They didn't reply to my email, so I phoned them, and was told that there was nothing they could do. It was at this point that I got really upset knowing I would be out of pocket by hundreds of dollars for these activities and as we live so far away, we couldn't travel the distance to dwellingup and back every day to do these activities. They didn't do a thing to try and help or understand my situation. Eventually after much persistence on my part, and explaining that it was a getaway weekend for my husbands birthday, they looked in their books and noticed that someone had indeed cancelled their booking for the weekend, and put my name down as the replacement. They then emailed me the following morning saying they have decided to cancel my booking ONCE AGAIN as they didn't appreciate me telling them in my email the previous day (that they eventually got round to reading and replying to) that their customer service was poor. These people have turned what was supposed to be a beautiful couple of nights away into an absolute nightmare. I would not recommend them to anyone. They are rude, unhelpful and honestly have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I have since managed to book in somewhere else due to a cancellation, but thought I would share my unfortunate experience with dwellingup b&b and chalets. I don't doubt the place itself is pretty, but bad customer service gives any good place a bad name.…
We arrived in the late afternoon with the sun shinning beautifully upon the trees. The wildlife were out in full force to welcome us! Kangaroos, wild rabbits and birds chirping. It was so pretty and welcoming. We stayed in Kookaburra chalet which was the first lodge when you enter the premise. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans that you may require. There were lots of DVD for rent. Downside was there was no mobile phone coverage and we were unsure if there was WIFI. We didn't know how to work the fireplace and as it was late, we didn't want to bother the owners. (It turned out to be a cold night). Overall a really lovely place. I would recommend for young families and those wanting to tune out from the hustle and bustle of city life. Perhaps if you could get a lodge closer to the center would be better. Don't forget to look up at the stars at night as well! Tips: if you are driving in from the city, stock up at the supermarket in the city before coming into Dwellingyup as we could find many options.…
