We are currently staying in room 307 and is as cute as a button.
The room was beautiful and warm for our mid afternoon arrival yesterday and was spotlessly clean. We used the hotel transfer service and our driver was an amazing man who shared so much knowledge about the area, the hotel and what to expect.
The young man who checked us in and showed us to our room was also so very helpful, showing us where things where on the way.
We enjoyed drinks in the bar in the early evening and having the kitchen in our apartment meant we could heat some soup and rolls for dinner.
Being the opening weekend and a long weekend the hotel yesterday and this morning was quite busy but the staff handled everyone with patience, calmness and professionalism.
We had an amazing night sleep in the super comfortable beds and fluffy doonas and the room stayed warm all night long.
Heading down to try the spa shortly as it looks divine.

Had a good stay at the hotel, and found the crew friendly and ready to assist with any queries. Drivers were also very helpful. the lounge bar was lovely to chill out in. the room was clean and had everything we needed. The delivery of breakfast to the room and complimentary drinks in late afternoon was also a lovely touch.

We didn't get to dine at Signature as it was closed on certain days but the views looked amazing from the restaurant. Overall, a good stay at the Breathtaker.

The service is impeccable. From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing. From picking us up from the car park before 9am to everything in between everyone made our stay extremely pleasant. Also this hotel gives great perks such as $100 lift tickets which is great. The room itself however was quite disappointing. It was far too small for the price we paid and was a bit tired and the furniture was old and worn. You would expect something a bit roomier and better for over $1000 per night. The cupboard was small and there were only a few coat hangers which made staying in such a small space so challenging. The lockers although great that they were individually allocated lockers, they were also too thin for anything more than a couple of pairs of skis making it challenging to leave your things.

Not the Breathtaker of yor. Spent a deferred two nights on-mountain this week at this old fave. Time to move on. Room was pokey, wifi connection was pointless and breakfasts and pizzas were barely passable, which made us reluctant to try the restaurant (Signatures) for dinner. Staff were lovely though (especially the Loft Bar crew) and spa facilities were good, but this one-time taker of breaths can hardly demand a gasp these days. It’s moved back to the pack and down the value tree. Pity.

Great location. Mostly friendly staff who are way out of their depth trying to fix all the old broken items in room. Our fridge was broken, TV didn’t work, coat hangers were broken, the old couch is made of a weird (faux?) leather where cushions continually slide themselves and you onto the floor. Bedroom furniture was broken and there is absolutely no room to put anything, so you’re constantly tripping over your bags. Plus most of the larger rooms have an insanely narrow spiral staircase up to the bedrooms (so easy to get a suitcase up!) and they couldn’t give us any alternative room safer for our young kids. We asked for baby gates which when installed didn’t close. Staff tried their best to help but tbh these problems start and finish with the lazy and/or stingy management and owners. We paid over $4700 for 3 nights and it was the worst value for money I’ve seen in a snow resort anywhere. We feel completely ripped off and will warn our family and friends off staying here. At half the price you could forgive the occasional broken item but this was ridiculous. We won’t be back!

Thank you for your review. We’re pleased to hear that you had a positive experience with our staff, who worked diligently to address your concerns. They promptly attended to your requests, including providing replacements, repairs, and complimentary wine and food. Although the new fridge did not arrive before your departure, the shelf was repaired and functional, the TV issue was resolved by reconnecting the antenna cable, and the jammed drawer was replaced on the same day. We regret that one broken coat hanger was missed during our room check, but once notified, we quickly replaced it and provided extra hangers. Our ongoing maintenance program includes annual updates, and apartment refreshment every summer. We also recognize that some of our apartments are smaller, so we’ve implemented an in-house only policy for our Restaurant, Loft, Lounge, Kids Room and common areas so our guests have room to ensure ample space for all guests. Regarding your reservation, our records indicate it was for a smaller 4-bed apartment for 2 adults and 1 child, yet 5 guests arrived. As we were fully booked, we couldn’t relocate you, but we accommodated the extra guests in your room, even though it exceeded the recommended capacity. We advise against having extra guests in the room to avoid overcrowding. At Breathtaker Hotel & Spa, we offer numerous benefits as part of your stay, including exclusive access to hotel facilities, a hot and cold buffet breakfast, barista coffees, happy hour drinks and snacks, various discounts, and complementary use of our day spa facilities. We hope you enjoyed these amenities and appreciate your feedback as we continuously strive to improve our guests' experiences.

Booked a massage & facial with lunch experience and what a treat it was. Fabulous staff who were awesome to deal with, friendly, knowledgeable & just lovely. My masseur Evie did a wonderful job with soothing my sore muscles & my facial was excellent. I then spent some time in the pool & spa afterwards, then headed up to restaurant for lunch with a glass of bubbles. Would do it all again if ever back here.

Staff are super friendly and cool. Great location and amenities for a snow hotel. :) Small rooms of course being in the snow. Nice bar and restaurant. Ski hire next door at Grimus. The spa could be hotter! But overall really impressed. Thank You.

We stayed at Breathtaker "All Suite" Hotel during the interschools ski competition. We took a 1 bedroom suite for my husband and me and our 11 year old. It cost $650 per night. I wanted to cancel one of the nights 3 weeks before our arrival but was told there would be a 100% charge for the cancellation, so we kept the booking. I had been expecting a luxurious experience because of the price and because I have been to their beautiful spa before. We were totally shocked at the quality of the room. It was like being inside a caravan. Absolutely tiny and cheap. No room for your bag, or to stand next to the bed. The furnishings are very poor quality and very unattractive. There is a nice balcony which was totally full of snow up to head height so that very little natural light could get in and we certainly couldn't get out or see out. The bathroom is so small you can't turn around and there is no where to put your sponge bag as the basin is too small. The shower over the small square bath had a plastic door which was broken. we couldn't open or shut the door and when we reproted it, they said they already knew it was broken. I asked the duty manager if he could find us a better room and he said as that was the room which was sold to us, he could do no better. He said he would get the manager to call us to discuss it, but 3 days later we still had not heard from the manager. The breakfast which is advertised as "Full Buffet" was very limited, with watery scrambled eggs and no poached, fried or boiled eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, etc unless you paid extra. Our room was not serviced until around 3pm each day, and then all they did was make the bed. They did not even pick up the wet bathmat off the floor or rinse the water glass by the bed. This hotel looks beautiful and modern from the outside and in the reception areas, spa and restaurants, but the upper areas are very old and worn. I think the larger suites may be more modern but our experience was very disappointing and we felt totally ripped off, and misled by the website.

Felt very misled by the web site pictures of the rooms. The most expensive hotel at Mt Buller was considering itself a 5 star hotel which its clearly not. Have had the opportunity to stay at another upmarket hotel previously at Buller and unfortunately it was unavailable so BreathTaker was the next best option. At $550.00 per night it was more expensive and no way near as good. No views from rooms either. Breakfast was very average and the only good coffee available included in the tariff was decaf. Gluten free bread was unavailable we were told and could not be bought anywhere only to find it at the local shop 100m away. Staff seemed to be a little inexperienced and relied seemingly on very young travellers passing through. Front desk staff not vey helpful! Sorry Breathtaker, but our breath was not taken away by your overall service, quality and value!

In Sept 2014 towards end of Aussie winter, my family visited Mt Buller. We have a 5 year old who took bus ride from Melbourne to my Buller. We were shocked that the check out time is 10am and was told by the very rude reception lady no exception to the rule. Our child had to rush thru breakfast & at just over 1005am, another lady came to our room and ask curtly if we can quickly leave our room. The staff have absolutely no service ethic & treated us very poorly. We waited at the lobby till 230pm and by then we were no longer their guests, the staff won't lend a hand to help with our luggage. Bad first experience & we won't ever return to Breathtaker.

Dear Kit 358, Thank you for taking the time to post some feedback. I do remember this incident , even 6 months later. The reason I remember it is because it could have been avoided. A simple misunderstanding seems to have escalated at some point between your check out & your departure. Had you have requested a late check out we would have done our best to accommodate. Sometimes this is just not possible, we couldn't possibly have all guests checking out late & also checking in early - then we would encounter some logistical problems! We always do our utmost to ensure families travelling with young children or infants are not kept waiting any longer than absolutely necessary. Similarly if someone arrives early & they have elderly family members who are not skiing we will always try to accommodate them first before others whose need is not so pressing. We do clearly state that during winter check in is at 3 pm & check out at 10 am, also that breakfast is served between 7.30 & 10 am. This is printed in our confirmations, our welcome letter, our departure letter & our in room compendium. Unless a late check out has been requested our housekeeping staff will try to access the room to prepare for our incoming guests. Similarly our breakfast staff will advise that breakfast is closing before they start packing away to prepare for lunch. I can only imagine this courtesy has been misconstrued. We do value our international guests & understand their needs can be different. This kind of feedback is invaluable to us & in future we will endeavour to make our operating hours clearer to avoid future misunderstanding. I have also had contact with the Travel Agent who made this booking to ensure they also pass on all relevant information to our guests.
