Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the Haven Cottage for a week for our honeymoon. From the outside the cottage doesn't look too flash and is kind of next to some old sheds and chicken coop but the inside is much nicer and has lovely feel of being hidden in the woods with only trees being visible from all the windows. The cottage is small with just two rooms but one room has a king size bed and a huge double spa bath so that was great.
There is also a nice kitchen and lounge area. The kitchen was quite nice but not well designed for intense cooking. After going shopping we realised to our dismay there is no oven! Oh well. Instead we used the bbq on the patio which worked well although at this time of the year in the evenings it is really too cold and dark to want to cook or eat outdoors, particularly when it rained. There is also a fairly limited amount of cutlery and plates so we have to use the dishwasher very regularly to make sure there was enough to use.
The tv was a great size. Trying to connect to the internet was a bit of a struggle. Everytime we wanted to use it we had to disconnect the internet and then reconnect it again but then it worked ok. There was a dvd player but we couldn't work out how to connect it to the tv.
We also made a mistake in assuming there would be a table and all the boardgames we bought struggled to fit on the small coffee table but for most people that probably isn't an issue.
The cottage is located right next to river and a 5 metre walk will put you on the walking track along the river. Which is great although we did notice it was sort of possible for people on the walking track to glimpse into the bedroom although I dobut they could really see anything from that distance through the trees. The walk along the river to bright is amazing and should be the first thing you do!
The cottages also have free bikes for hire and there is a rail trail about 50 metres down the road which is perfect. It is a great area for walking and biking.
On the whole it was a lovely stay and I would definitely recommend it to other couples. The cost was also pretty reasonable at just over $200 a night.

Ashwood cottage is so delightful. I love the location and the accommodation. It's located on a bush setting that backs onto the loveliest trail into town. I've stayed here multiple times. The appartments are always clean. Linda & Martin are always quick to solve any issue. I hired a bike this time so that I could easily get around town, it's only 2km into the centre and there is a bike path the whole way. There is very limited reception and the wifi is non existent which could be a good or bad thing depending who you are and what you're looking for!

Spent 3 nights at Ashwood Cottages staying in the Haven Cottage. The cottage is located at the back of the property away from the other cottages so is very quiet and private, you feel like you are the only ones there. The Cottage is very well equipped with everything you need including a log fire and air conditioning for the cold nights and mornings. Was lovely to sit on the patio and watch the birds in the scrub out the back. An easy 5 minute drive into town with the canyon walk along the river out the back. We loved our stay and would thoroughly recommend staying at Ashwood Cottages

Beautiful cottage with all the key amenities. Great location, very peaceful and quiet. Close to Canyon walk where we enjoyed our daily morning walk into town.
The cottage had everything we needed with very comfortable bed, relaxing sofas in the sunroom, a fireplace with well stocked firewood and an inviting spa bath. Overall, a wonderful ambience for a relaxing and romantic weekend away. Highly recommended. We hope to return again in the near future.

Stayed at the Fleurbaix cottage. Really nice little cottage right next to the river in a wooded area. Had a fantastic sun room that is great for relaxing in and having morning tea in or relaxing in the afternoon.
The kitchen works well for small meal prep, perfect for cooking breakfast or a snack
The spa is amazing. Easily fits 2 people.
Town center is a 2 minute drive or a 20 minute walk away. It's just out of the way enough that you don't get any traffic, but close enough to still drive in/walk in easily.
Overall a great place for a couple, would stay there again.

This was a lovely little cottage for me and my partner during our mini-moon. The property is tucked away off the road so it's a quiet and calm area, and it backs on to beautiful bush with the river a really short stroll away. We also enjoyed a ride on the complimentary bikes, and the Jacuzzi was definitely utilised! The wood fire was also lovely, it would be enjoyable during the cooler months. We loved it!

Studio cottage is wow 🤩 as you enter through a portico into a “tardis” . This Dr had no idea of, from the photos!
The opulent king size lounge suite to the “how did they fit all that in the kitchen” space! Then stepping outside on the small deck the forest / jungle is emersive in shady but open airiness .
Upstairs you are in the forest canopy, luxuriating in the opulence fit for a king with a king sized bed , king sized spa bath & seperate king sized shower.
The spacious and sensory sensation of wide vista windows covered in a curved masterpiece of ceiling architecture. But there is more: a quaint porthole fresh air window beside the bed and sliding glass beside the spa.
When back to earth, this is a place designed to be enjoyed.
There is a house, and two other cottages somewhere nearby but you would never now . The chooks grazing in the bushes and trees probably do though .
A wonderful unique experience I am glad we had the chance to have.

Travelled to Bright for a couple of days while our kids were away. We loved the secluded feel, leafy surrounds and proximity to the Canyon Walk.
Enjoyed some bubble time in the generously-sized spa, and, while we could have put some effort into getting the WiFi working, we just stayed largely disconnected from the world due to the limited mobile reception.
Comfy bed and pillows.

Stayed here as a base while we explored the High Country. Found it to be comfortable and conveniently located. Although we did not use all the facilities available to us, it was a lovely place to return to after a day exploring and had everything we needed to rest before heading off each day. Loved the easy access to the Canyon Walk.

It's an amazing place for a relaxing holiday. Everything we need for our 3 days stay has been provided (pots, pans, bbq facilities, coffee and tea). This cottage was one of the cleanest I have stayed so far, kept us warm with log fire, spa was awesome. It would be excellent if the wifi was not an issue at times, but hey thats a good time that you can have digital detox and really have a peaceful and relaxing short holiday. Just bad that I have to check my work email, but if not its perfect for a short getaway.
