The service and quality of the motel is exceptional. Brilliant amenities with communal kitchen, guest fridges, great pool and secure bicycle storage.
The layout of the complex is brilliant allowing privacy for guests, and very modern with everything one needs for our 5 day stay. Close, yet far enough, from main village and restaurants, Woollies and brewery. Try Gumtrees for the best pies as well.
Rooms are serviced daily with fresh supplies of Nespresso pods, towels etc as required.
Santa even found our room with a surprise Christmas gift of box of choccies in the room - he is good!!!
Will be back.

It was a last minute decision to travel to Bright for a couple of nights. We wanted somewhere close to town and not too expensive and based on Tripadviser reviews we chose Bright Colonial. Even before we got to our room we were saying "what an amazing place". There are areas set aside for guests to sit and relax. The "communal kitchen area" was extremely well fitted out and overlooking the pool. Very close to town, river, bike and walking paths. Woolworths and BWS not far away. Our room was exceptionally clean, quiet and the bed was very comfy. Staff were very friendly. We had bikes so took advantage of the secure bike storage shed.
So glad we chose Bright Colonial Motel and will definitely stay here on our next trip to Bright.

The rooms at the Bright Colonial Motor Inn are as luxurious as in a large Luxury Hotel in major Cities and at a very good price. It is set off the main road and is away from road noise. Parking is limited if you desire to park opposite your room.
The hosts Nigel & Janelle were just incredibly helpful and friendly.
We will definitely stay here again. Loved it.

We were very impressed with the location and the amenities offered at this motel BUT, we stayed there for 5 nights and they refused to service the room citing Covid as the reason! This was nonsense because we have just done a 4 week road trip around Victoria and every single place we stayed at was fully serviced. When I complained they very grudgingly sent someone in to clean the bathroom. She did it in two minutes and complained that she should not have been doing it. They did offer us clean towels if we took the dirty ones to reception. For what we paid for a five night stay this was quite ridiculous and extremely unhygienic during a pandemic !!!!!!

We are glad that you enjoyed the location and amenities on offer during your stay. Operating an accommodation business during the current pandemic has been very challenging, and responding to changing government restrictions has made it a very interesting few months. The current government advise reads as follows: "Minimise worker entry into customer rooms, leave items to be delivered to customers (e.g. towels, room service) at door to minimise interaction between workers and customers." So while you stay we are refusing to service rooms, we believe that we are following the government guidelines perfectly in order to protect both staff and guests. It is clearly advised on email to all guests prior to arrival that this is the case, as well as displayed in the room. Our cleaning staff are checking in on each guest daily to see if they require any fresh towels/linen/guest amenities, and if they miss you in your room, they are leaving a note to let you know you missed them, and that you can contact Reception if you need anything delivered. We are happy to provide anything that you require, at the door, following guidelines. This has nothing to do with cost, and all to do with maintaining safe social distance between guests and staff, which is very difficult to do in a motel room. Upon check out, our cleaning staff are spending upwards of 2 hours to sanitise, disinfect and clean every surface in our guest rooms. Again, we do this with all precautions in mind. We ensure that doors and windows remain open during our time in a guest room to provide adequate ventilation and our staff wear correct proective uniform. In terms of hygene, our staff are cleaning all communal areas and shared surfaces a minimum of twice daily, again as per the guidelines. We are sorry that you couldn't survive 5 days without fresh sheets.

Reception is efficient and friendly with advice on what to do and where to eat.
The rooms are modern and well equiped (incl wifi). The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was compact and suitable for 1 person at a time. The motel is set away from the road so there is no traffic noise. However, there is a group barbeque and seating area near the rooms. When we were staying this area was used by groups early morning (7am) and late evening (10pm). The groups were not particularly rowdy but the acoustics are such that the noise was quite annoying in our room. Overall this didn't detract too much but bigger noisier groups could be an issue. The motel is walking distance to the centre of town and most shops etc. Price was at the upper end for motels in Australia.

Thank you for your review. We do actively monitor the noise situation in our common areas and do a walk around each evening to ensure that all noise has stopped. We try to ensure that groups staying occupy the rooms closest to this area in order to provide peace and privacy to other guests.

We chose the king bedroom with outside spa. It was a late booking, acting on a recommendation from our son. From the first moment we arrived, we were impressed. It’s modern, clean, well laid out, well-equipped, secure, and beautifully appointed. It’s only 300m walk into the centre of Bright, to access cafes, restaurants, etc. the motel has a dedicated area for washing down your bike, and an air compressor for tyres! The staff are superbly friendly and professional. Our room was well-equipped, and crystal clean. It couldn’t be bettered. We enjoyed a spa each evening before dinner to cap off our busy days. We would highly recommend this motel, and will definitely plan to be back.

The rooms in this motel are excellent models for a country motel. It is minimalist, with clean design lines and everything you need but nothing you don’t need. The uncluttered design makes for ease of cleaning and the motel room was sparkling clean. No soul really – but who is looking for soul in a country motel. I wouldn’t want to spend a week there. It seems well set up for large groups (cyclists?). We got some TV noise through the walls from the room next door at night.

Location: walking distance to town which was fantastic as we walked to dinner each night.
Room: we had the King room. Clean and well accommodated with bathroom amenities and kitchenette facilities. There was a breakfast bar with two high stools. Two lounge chairs and a coffee table also. Wifi was great. We also had the room with its own private courtyard which was great to have.
Staff: Yvonne was fantastic from check in, during our stay and check out. Nothing was too much trouble.
Cyclist friendly: they have bike sheds that are secure, area to hose down your bike, bike pumps etc.

We spent a night at the motel while cycling. I was very surprised at the quality, cleanliness and value of the motel. From the first rate cycling shed to store, clean and maintain our bikes, to the BBQ and pizza oven by the pool - all a pleasant surprise.
In addition, the rooms were well appointed. In addition to a Nespresso machine, rooms had a micro wave, large TV and an empty bar ridge.
The motel was also in easy walking distance of the center of town.

For traditionalists, this motel may not meet your expectations if you want to back the car up to the room door, expecting to share a common linear veranda. The room we booked had its own private courtyard garden and this was a great feature which allowed us to chill out with a cool drink on a perfect spring afternoon after check-in. The well laid out gardens were a bonus for the eyes and the room itself was very comfortable with everything we needed. This motel caters very well for the cycling tourist and had some unexpected features like the secure bike storage, wash-down and maintenance area. The other really good feature here is the shared cooking and eating area. It was central and had everything including the kitchen sink! The motel is obviously quite new and is a significant but welcome deviation from traditional American highway motel design. We really liked it and would stay again.
