i had been going there some 20 years with the old owner things have changed a lot . it is nice that it has opened up the park . it is a sham that they dont do brecky like they use to as it was good to catch with all your friends over brecky in the big hall . I was a bit surprised that they charge you for the fire pit and the wood it is like having two bites at the cherry . THE showers are to slippery on the floor my is disabled and she nearly slipped over in the showers maybe some more mats mite fix it and it was sad to see the big hall closed we all used to gather in there with the open fire going and chat to everyone that we have not seen for a year well it mite get better we hope . And not get greedy like all the other places in town and charge more money that is why they lost the hotrods .THE prices in bright now is like staying at the highett in melbourne oh hang on the highett is cheaper lol .

Keep It Crusty!!!!
A lot of folk bag out this place as its not modern and it is basic. If you want all the mod cons go look elsewhere. If, however, you want an edge of town campsite at the base of the Mountain bike park and 5 mins walk to the paragliding landing field then this place is the go. Comparative to camping fees elsewhere in Bright this place is the cheapest and its super convenient for MTB/Paragliding stuff. Most fellow campers are here to do activities, it isn't crammed with families and kids like the in-town sites by the river. The staff are friendly and there is a lovely river right next to the camping.
Long Live Crusty!!!!

Booked in unpowered camp from 3/1/22 to 9/1/22. Sadly left on the 5/1/22 due to the terrible weather not the camp site. I was staying peak season so was paying more money. The camp was interesting with the old houses around it. The facilities were old but working and were cleaned and tidied daily it appeared. The area is convenient to Bright and a pretty area with the campsite having a creek . This was well used in the hot days I had!!!
Good for families with children on bikes ect and appearing to make friends with other kids off on bike rides around the camp. Lots of dogs, pet friendly which is a definite plus. 😃
An outdoor cafe is set up each morning cooking bacon/eggs and coffee for campers
It is a basic, rustic camp. For the area is value and affordable even in peak season.
My only request to the camp is address the pot holes and driveway. Put some stones/rocks to fill these. Especially for the rainy times we keep getting.
Will stay again.
Cheers Sheila

I had the displeasure of staying here on the final weekend of July for a ski weekend. We booked a cabin with 2 double beds in it to house 4 adults. Of the many issues we had the cold was by far the worst. It was -3 overnight one of the nights and there was no difference between the ambient temperature and that in our cabin, thank God we have mountaineering sleeping bags. The provided doonah was a summer doonah and filthy, the 3 winged oil heater provided no heat and the electric blankets didn't work. In addition to that the provided kettle was filthy, the bedding was dirty, there were holes in the side of the cabin that had been fixed with newspaper, they began using a chainsaw at 0700 in the morning outside our lodgings, it was so bad one of our friends chose to sleep in their car. The bathrooms and kitchen facilities were filthy and poorly maintained. They are currently completing major renovations and I hope their standard improves, I would not stay here prior to these being finished.

Probably the worst camping facilities and rudest staff I have ever encountered in my life, and i've probably stayed in 100+ campgrounds and hostels in AU and abroad.

Place is dirty, old and falling apart, dusty, smelly and dodgy as hell. We felt like squatters, it's utterly decrepit.

We also emailed to notify them that two extra people were coming (which they acknowledged back via email) we were met with attitude when setting up and accused of trying to do a dodgy and not pay for them. Instantly put a sour taste in our mouths when that's not even something that would cross our minds... then we were met with the extra price!! For two tents squished into a plot and the disgusting facilities, it was an utter shock when we had stayed in such pleasant, friendly, trusting and cheaper local campgrounds on this trip.. An absolute rip off.

Place is foul - needs to be bulldosed and the staff sacked.

What a shock to arrive at a mudpit with danger tape across most of the cabin area. You only receive notice that they are renovating the day you arrive. The place is a run down mudpit, with room's that can be locked from the outside, no smoke alarms. You almost need a 4x4 to get in or out. I thought I had made a wrong turn. The only wrong turn was making a booking here. A disgusting venue that should be closed until it it brought up to code for paid accommodation.

We booked and payed for 4 nights in advance and had to cancel in an emergency 2 weeks before the date, as we had a sudden death and we also weren’t able to travel due to covid 19.
Not only did they not refund any of our money they never got back to us and we have still had unanswered calls and poor excuses from the owners. Very unhappy with customer service and any compassion from the owners. Especially during these unexpected times due to covid 19. You should be ashamed of yourselves taking money off a poor young family.

Small cabin, suitable for two? No room for unpacking except on other bed. Toilet facilities are spartan at best. Fortunately the potholes are disguised under a crust of sodden leaves so you can easily fall on your way there during the day, and even more easily at night.

The kitchen is a sight to behold! Dirty, with cooking dishes filled with half-eaten food. I did not stay long enough to check out the stove, but I suspect that it has seen its fair share of neglect.

My room was cold even with the heater on full blast. The bed linen was barely adequate so the electric blanket was absolutely necessary. In fact, the bed was the only semi-inviting place in the whole camp.

This dinosaur of a relic from the 1950s should be put out of our misery and pensioned off to retire disgracefully. "Run-Down" would be my best possible description.

Run away!! We arrived at Camp Cristy cabins and almost turned around and left again. I thought we had made a mistake when we initially arrived as it was a mud pit and looked like it was under renovation. Alas no, we ended up wrangling a “new” pod for 2 of the 6 members of the family but had to cut the holiday short by a day, as it was a more “exclusive” room. It was about the same price as the Big 4 and NRMA cabins but much worse/non existent facilities. Good luck with getting a refund if you’ve already booked. Staff are difficult.
