My wife and I stayed two nights in a Queen Room at the Ararat Colonial Lodge Motel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was easily the best motel room we have stayed in on recent travels, and was less expensive than all others. The room was spacious, clean, bright, and well appointed, and it included a good-sized comfortable sofa. The bed was also very comfortable. I have no hesitation in recommending the Ararat Colonial Lodge Motel. Dr Edward Vaughan.

This motel was surprising comfortable, very quiet (as it's not on the main highway through Ararat), and the staff member was very helpful.
The newly renovated room was spotless, and the facilities were up to a high standard.
I definitely intend to return on our next trip through Victoria.

Christine and Dillon were very accomodating for our 6 day stay. They greeted us each day with friendly smiles and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean. We made good use of the pool area and BBQ (plates and utensils provided by the hosts) area. The wifi enabled us to research the Grampians, wineries and cute little country towns for our daily explorations. The Colonial motel was quiet, great value for money with the town centre only minutes away by foot, and wollies was across the road. Thankyou Christine and Dillon for a wonderful stay.

No running hot water in the shower in room 8, poor water pressure and leaks from every tap in that room. When you are travelling i would consider an operating shower as an absolute must provide to the client so they can start the day fresh....there is no consideration here for the guest and the issue is not a new one. There was no response from reception when i emailed them at opening time the next day. The broken tiles in the shower are also very unsafe for users.

Traveled to Ararat for one night only to attend the J-ward ghost tour with friends and Partners 3 rooms booked separately, spacious room, queen bed, sofa, bathroom. Only negative feedback is that information book provided in the room said room service for breakfast can be ordered but staff on arrival said they don’t provide that service. No snack foods in the mini fridge, mattress was rock hard and thin bedding, only shower products provided was an all in one soap, I love a motel that has the soaps, shampoos and conditioners feels gifting, or the chocolate on the pillow on arrival. Wifi connection very handy and smart tv with Netflix you just need your own account. Returning for Aradale tour and will return but hopefully they will amend the breakfast service that would be perfect.

The advertised amenities are inaccurate. There is no breakfast in the room and in fact if you want to use a plate and cutlery you need to ask for it before the office closes. There is also no breakfast in the room.

The motel is well located off the main highway in Ararat, close to the main street. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. It was spacious with a comfortable bed and good amenities for making breakfast in the morning. The bathroom was fantastic with a huge shower. The gentleman who took our phone booking was helpful and friendly. We were arriving late into the night, which was not a problem. We were given instructions for accessing the room which went smoothly. Would stay again.

Very comfortable beds. The rooms were very warm which was nice as it was a cold winters night. Also, well located, close to everything you need, restaurants for dinner and breakfast are all just a stroll away. In addition, the supermarket is only a short walk too.

Room was clean and well serviced; TV hairdryer, fridge, etc

We found this motel to be great value as it is quite spacious . The hosts were very welcoming and very helpful. The motel is quite centrally located in Ararat and close to the shopping and eating precinct, being within walking distance.
Originally we planned to stay for one night but extended our visit to another night since the bed was comfortable and no street noise at night came into the room.
