Before booking, I read a few recent reviews that complained there was no hot water. The reponses from the management stated the problem was now fixed. And that’s why I booked it. I booked 2 bedroom penthouse, which cost $500/night, for me and my elderly parents. After two people took showers there was no more hot water available. Management the next morning said I need to wait a few hours for the water to heat up again once I use up what’s available. They also told me about switching the hot water switch off then back on on electrical board (which was mentioned in previous reviews), but made no difference. This is something I really did not expect after paying $500/night. Everything else was good. Private under cover parkings, nice furnitures, view, location! The apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 ensuite bathrooms, each with separate bath tubs with bath salt available to use. Completely useless and pointless as there is no hot water available to use. First day I took shower in freezing cold water in freezing cold weather. The next day everyone took 2 minute showers each. The management tried to be helpful and I understand it’s not their fault. HoweverI think the guests need to be warned about this issue at check in, to avoid having to takes showers in icy cold water. Quite misleading if you have apartments with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, each with bath tubs and bath salts.

So looking forward to a weekend away with family we booked the 4 bedroom Boardwalk Appartment. Firstly can I say that this apartment is just beautiful with its lovely furnishings and layout and had the perfect amount of space for my family. I was however very disappointed to find that we had to hand wash all of the bowls, mugs and plates in the cupboards on arrival as they were covered in food. I’m sure that these were put through the dishwasher but not checked when packed away as we found the dishwasher left lots of bits on the plates and bowls and with no rinse aid available the dishwasher really didn’t do a very good job. The other and more disappointing issue was the lack of hot water. We are a family of 6 and over our 2 night stay 2 of my children refused to shower and my Mum, daughter, husband and I experienced cold showers. We did not even turn on the cold water what so ever in the shower and the water was barely luke warm. I did call reception and had a staff member pop over and show me the boost button in the electrical box but this made no difference at all. To be frank with you I wouldn’t have bathed my dog in this temperature water and it put a real dampener on the whole experience. So much for being able to enjoy a soak in the bath that wasn’t even a possibility. At $450 a night I would have expected to be able to have a 5 minute hot shower. I can honestly say that I have never stayed at any accommodation where I didn’t have hot water. The fact that there was absolutely no hot water made it impossible to hand wash any greasy dishes from cooking the bbq or from breakfast as well. There is obviously an issue with the setting of the water temperature and this needs to be rectified before you book this apartment to anyone else. Unfortunately, I was hoping to be able to recommend this amazing accommodation to my friends and family but will not be able to do so with is such a shame. I did email management as soon as I arrived home but have received no reply.

Couldn’t have loved the service or our Boardwalk Apartment more. Blinds almost need replacing in the third bedroom and deck could use a sand and oil, but location, views and cleanliness were absolutely spot on. Cost divided by two couples makes this stay a really great value couple of days for a huge townhouse style apartment, and we each had our own bathroom plus a third guest toilet.

After checking in at the appropriate check in time, we arrived in our room to find the cleaners still in there vacuuming. We waited in the garage for 10 mins and then he said he was done and we could go in. I thought it was odd to finish so quick as usually after a vacume the floors get mopped which we quickly learnt they were not as I swiped my finger over the floor only to see a trail of dirt on my finger. The kitchen seats had crumbs on them and we found cheezles under the lounge.
The lights switches and door handles were covered in finger prints which I sanitised myself. The room did not smell like it had been cleaned properly.
There was a dirty cloth and spray bottle thrown outside in the yard.
Later that afternoon I noticed three cleaners on the outside of the fence pointing to something and chatting. It wasn’t until Tuesday afternoon when we planned to have a BBQ outside that we noticed a bee hive in our yard. The cleaners clearly knew this and failed to alert us. What if one of us was allergic to bees and went outside unknowingly like we did? This is pure negligence.
One of the bedroom doors was somehow locked on the inside (possibly with a cleaners key as there is no lock on the inside) and when my daughter shut the door it locked. We had to call the after hours supervisor to come and unlock it.
The rollers on the laundry door were off and we struggled to open one side.
There were no plastics bags for rubbish or any amenities to make us feel welcome. I also killed 4 spiders while there.
I felt dirty the whole time and for $325 per night this is appalling.

I have spoken with management and we are all quite disappointed that you did not give us the chance to rectify these issues for you. Had you advised us you were not happy we would have attended to these issues straight away for you. I have been advised that on the occasions that you had staff contact (when your bedroom door was unlocked and when a dvd player was borrowed from reception) that nothing was said at all regarding your cleaning concerns. Our cleaning staff do daily servicing of all of accommodation and tried to access your apartment to complete this however you had a do not disturb sign up for the duration of your stay. When trying to check in the girl at reception wasnt very friendly and told us that we couldnt check in early as the cleaners are busy as it was left in quite a state and are trying to clean it! When we eventually did check in she had to double check it was ready (2 hours after their check in time) we were also only booked in for the 1 night so quite expensive for just a few hours in the room. When arriving in the room the floors werent cleaned that great and the furntire is old and stained making it look dirty and same for the outdoor furniture. The shower also has no pressure and if someone else happens to be having a shower at the same time it just drips out. The view from the deck is amazing and is great to sit out there just unfortunate about the rest of it. Wouldn’t stay here again.

We visited Wallaroo as a family of 3 so the Penthouse on the top floor offered the best value and the best views. Beautifully maintained and very spacious. Despite other reviwers we had a spa and showers and had no problems with hot water. Over looks the marina and next to the Coopers Brewhouse. The only comment. Staff don't really come across as wlecoming or friendly. 1st time I have handed in keys and never been asked how was the stay or even acknowledged!

Cannot recommend highly enough. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Cleaning staff were also very patient and understanding when we didn't quite check out on time.
We had a wonderful stay at the Wallaroo Marina Apartments. Fantastic view of the marina and North Beach, all the way to the horizon. Facilities were immaculate, bed wonderfully comfortable. Convenient access after hours. Convenient access to the ferry. Loved having a balcony to relax on, which we did, more than the room itself.

Overall we had a good relaxing holiday but to be honest for the price we paid we expected a better standard. Everything look fabulous on the website photos but in reality is a bit different. First off all all rooms have great view over marina and that was our highlight and best part of the stay. The bed was comfortable and room was well prepared. The staff was pretty good and professional. More smiles would not hurt, for example when we were checking out nobody asked how was our stay or thanks for booking wth us. The first question was if we used anything from the bar. The building is quality built but lacking general maintenance. The first bad impression is when we arrived that the paint on doors was worn, all the walls in corridors and in the room are dirty and the carpet in our room was stained by wine. Also one chair cushion at the balcony was missing which is a not a huge issue but not a good sign of a great standard. Another big issue is whistling noise under the doors and I would not recommend staying here in winter. We had a few windy days and we had to put some towels under the doors to stop the noise otherwise no way you can sleep. This can be fixed putting better seal on doors and windows. These issues are not matter of everyday cleaning. This is a general maintenance that is well overdue. I must mention that we had a really good service and meals in Alehouse restaurant downstairs. Their staff was amazing and meals were so delicious and quite reasonably priced. We highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. We really hope the owners do some action and bring these apartments to an expecting level of quality accomodation.

We recently stayed 4 nights in a Penthouse Apartment which was equipped with everything we needed. Our only problem was that it was not serviced at all and for the price we were paying it would have been nice. It would also be nice if you could get to the beautiful North Beach that we enjoyed looking at without a long drive but that is not the fault of the Apartments. Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and a great kitchen. Location is good as we could walk into the Main Street to visit some of the great eating places.

Booked for a single Friday night stay in preparation for the Ferry ride across the Gulf the next morning. Room was up on the 4th floor overlooking the marina. It's quite big for two poeple, separate bedroom and bathroom and all the comforts of a self contained apartment you would imagine.
The property adjoins the Coopers Alehouse Pub - which was our preferred oiption for dinner - however without a booking forget it. There is no priority for hotel guests which was pretty disappointing. We ended up getting take away pizza from one of the places in town.
Parking we reserved one of the 4 spots underneath, otherwise you're out with the masses in the public carpark. Noise wise it was a Friday night so expected it to be pretty noisy. Wasn't too bad from the venue perspective. The main issue was kids throwing rocks into the water, they thought it was hilarious but didn't please me so much.
Overall the town of Wallaroo is another one of those hidden South Australian gems that doesn't get the credit it deserves from people in other parts of the country. Perfect over nighter if you're getting the ferry early.
