We had food at the joined cafe/restaurant. The Indian fare is fresh and delicious. A few veg options too, which was good. They're open 7days 7am-8pm which is pretty awesome coz there's not much else around.
The husband and wife who run the place are really very friendly and helpful. They used to work in the Indian place in Angaston and really know what they're doing in the kitchen. It is Australian style curry though, if you want a bit of kick in your curry, just ask them (or get into the Vindaloo)!

This is somewhere to rest your head on your way to or from somewhere else. Nothing to get excited about, but it is clean and the bed is comfortable. I didn't eat in the truck stop attached, so cannot advise.

We stayed here two nights as it was the nearest place we could find to the Barossa Valley due to it being a long weekend. At first glance it does not look much. There are only about 4 rooms and a couple of caravans on site. The room we were in was small but very clean and beautifully restored with high ceilings and new carpet. The shower/toilet is not large but clean and functional. The room has split system heating/cooling which was quiet and efficient. The bed was comfortable and the room had all the amenities you would want including free Wi-Fi. The biggest surprise was the restaurant on the premises. It is run by the owners and the meals are fabulous and home cooked. We ate there both nights. I would normally rate this place lower but the owners were so helpfull and friendly they deserve the extra mark. Truro is about 17 km out of the Barossa Valley so well within driving distance of that district.

Its a fantastic place to stay around Barossa Valley. Clean and tidy rooms, with very comfortable beds. Amazing value for money. Very very friendly owners and staff members, with impeccable customer service. Group of 4 adults and 2 kids travelled from Sydney to Adelaide to watch a cricket world cup game, and stayed at this place for couple of days. We planned to stay outside Adelaide, because the prices in Adelaide were over the roof on this particular weekend(14th Feb 2015). We only paid a fraction in this motel.

Good food available all day, from the restaurant in-house. The owners also allowed us to prepare our own meal in the guest kitchen, and they in fact provided a lot of spices that they had. Used the BBQ(nice and clean) in the backyard for the first night stay. Next morning, after finishing the breakfast from their restaurant, we also got take away sandwiches for the game. Gr8 food.
On the way back after the game, we realised that we were locked out(key inside the room), rang Micheal the owner at around 11 pm, he was pleasant as usual, and arranged for a spare key. The owners and the staff members were very kid friendly.

This place also has very nice art gallery, and a pool table. This place is around 10 minutes drive to Barossa Valley.

I would thoroughly recommend this place to all type of travellers (business, couples, family, friends and solo). I would definitely stay in this place again, if i visit Adelaide/Barossa Valley in the future.

My partner and I stopped here for a sit down breakfast (deciding to give this place a try instead of our usual visit to Sunrise Bakery, two shops down) and regretted it. We were the only people in the cafe and they took over 30 minutes to serve poached eggs on toast with bacon and tomato. At one stage I had to ask them for our food and was told it takes time to poach eggs. Um, what? Not 30 minutes it doesn’t and not when you’re only serving two customers. No other people walked in whilst we were there and next time, we’ll be walking past the Truro weighbridge motel cafe as well. Oh, and when our food arrived - the bacon was in short supply and hard and brittle whilst the tomatoes were complete rubbish. The poached eggs however were absolute perfection so if you have a spare 40 minutes on your travels. order them.

Amazing Indian food that is well worth the drive up the hill to Truro every time. Plenty of options. Vegetarian and Vegan dishes too. The onion pakora is incredible. Great chips and burgers, fish, the lot. Lovely people, great place.

Recently visited this place for dinner while driving back to Adelaide. Excellent Indian food. Better than what is available in most of the Indian restaurants in Adelaide. They also have other food options available. Owners are friendly and can alter/adjust meal according to your needs.

I stayed here in a twin room for one night. The room was clean and bed comfortable and firm. I was in room 5 which is the furthest back from the road (only 5 fooms at this small motel). The rooms are thick stone (very old building). A Small fridge, TV, table and chairs are provided along with tea and coffee facilities and shampoo/soap.

The bathroom is TINY but the shower had good water pressure although the hot water is not overly hot (hot enough though).

The Motel has a cafe, restaurant attached and they have a good selection of foods available and were surprisingly busy!

I think the motel was slightly over priced for this room ($135) for a twin but, good location and convenient. Certainly fine for one night.

The free Wifi was a bonus - remember to ask for the password at check in!

The only negative was that the bedding smelt of cigarette smoke, very noticable when you are a non-smoker. The motel do have signs up in the room so obviously this is an issue...

hello Kay P, thankyou for staying at our motel and taking the time to offer your important review, the motel is over 175 years old [first licensed in 1850!]so we are happy with the condition of the building thick walls and all. the new hot water units have anti scalding valves fitted as per government regulations, consequently the hot water is not really scalding hot! sorry. we take pride in our rooms and can't explain why the bedding smelt of cigarette smoke all the bedding is changed every day and we dont allow smoking in the rooms. regards the management
