We stayed in a superior spa suite. It was very roomy, well appointed but attention to detail forced a 4 star from me. We enjoyed the Barossa and the hotel was a good spot to explore from.
On the negative - Only one lamp in living room which did not work and couldn't be fixed as they ran out of globes so we needed the 4 ceiling spot lights on which were far too bright and shined in our eyes when sitting down on the couch so we sat at the table so we weren't blinded. The air conditioner did not work but thanks to Sue on reception she got it working. It didn't work again the next night with Sue fixing it again. Judging by her ability to fix quickly I suspect this happens often. The bathroom has shiny floor tiles which are slippery when wet. The spa is raised with 2 steps on wet slippery tiles to get in and out and long step into the bath with no nothing to hang on to. The bath itself is very roomy but so slippery you can't lay back as you slip out the other end! Bring your own non slip mats or creep around carefully like we did.

Stayed 3 nights (Groupon coupon) in a large older room, but clean, well maintained and quiet. Groupon coupon included breakfast in restaurant, fabulously presented ordered breakfast.
(We arrived earlier to confirm booking....this receptionist was NOT pleasant) On afternoon booking, staff great.

Bought a voucher on Groupon to stay for two nights at Barossa Weintal Hotel.
Room was average and needs a bit of upgrading especially in bathroom.
I found the bed alright but my husbands back was aching after two nights.
We could not get Wifi but the hotel apologised as there was a fault found that required parts and they gave us a bottle of wine as compensation. Also due to Covid19 their restaurant was closed and as the voucher included breakfast they put breakfast packs in our room. They were alright but not what we were expecting. I think they should have offered a refund for breakfast and we would have gone out and got our own.
The girl on reception was helpful on the Monday when we arrived and she booked dinner for us that night.

Thank you kindly for your review. It saddens me that your experience with us was not of standard. We truly strive to offer our guests a pleasant and enjoyable stay. It is unfortunate the current climate had restricted us during the time you decided to stay, all your points are taken on board with reviews of the hotel and how we can improve during this time occurring on a daily basis. We are striving to increase our restaurant hours to be more accommodating. We are now offering Dinner Wednesday through to Saturday and Breakfast Friday through to Sunday. I hope you decide to come visit the Barossa again and when that time comes please contact me as I would appreciate the opportunity to assist in some way. gm@barossaweintal.com.au Thank you kindly

Went for a drink in the bar and was constantly told to vacate table as it was booked for dinner even though there were no reserved signs. People arrived and were placed in another section of the room not the main section.
People having breakfast on outside table had their breakfast delivered with no cutlery or salt & pepper. He asked for sauce and it took 10-15 minutes for it to arrive. Their breakfast would have been cold.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Hello Roselee Thank you kindly for your feedback. I'm sorry you had a poor experience in the restaurant. In response to your queries, unfortunately Saturday evenings are very busy for us and majority of our tables are booked well in advance. The table you sat at was a reserved table and I believe you were made aware of this on sitting down. We do not use reserve signs in the restaurant area as we personally seat our guests when they arrive, booking or no booking. This allows us to greet our guests and explain our menu. I apologies if you feel this is an inappropriate way to treat our guests when they dine in our restaurant. As for your breakfast observation of another table I can assure you they were well looked after. I personally dealt with this table and they were extremely understanding given the business of the morning. We generally don't seat people outside but we are more than happy to try accommodate guests where possible. I take it that you were happy with your breakfast that morning. I would gladly like to discuss any further issues you may have. Please see my personal email below. Given the opportunity id welcome having you back to demonstrate our hospitality in a more positive light. Kindest regards gm@barossaweintal.com.au

Paid $18 for Pumpkin salad with rocket and got two leaves of rocket and three lumps of pumpkin pieces. Add $10 for prawns and was given 4 cocktail size prawns half the size of my index finger.

Would not recommend to anyone.

We arrived on a Saturday for a three night stay to be told by reception that their in house restaurant was booked out for Saturday evening and would be closing for all meals at 2.30 Sunday afternoon. Dining in our room was not a reasonable option as there were no table and chairs supplied for that purpose. The only kitchen appliance provided was a kettle. No toaster, we were told by housekeeping that this was for "health and safety reasons". How absurd. After expressing our disappointment with the lack of dining options, the Front Office manager offered to deliver breakfast packs to our room on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Neither of these were delivered and no explanation was provided. The rooms are truly dated and not soundproof, our neighbours' tv was audible until 1.30 AM one morning. We checked out at 8.30 AM only to find that reception didn't open until 9.00 AM. We plan to return to Tanunda but certainly won't be staying at the Barossa Weital.

Dear john312018, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay, it is extremely disappointing to learn we fell short of your expectations. I sincerely apologise we were not able to accommodate you for dinner, whilst we certainly do strive to prioritise our in-house guests, unfortunately in line with government-imposed density restrictions our capacity was limited. It is very disheartening that there appears to be miscommunication surrounding our breakfast offerings, from our correspondence I did note our breakfast packs were an option or there were also a plethora of restaurants close by in which I would happily assist in reserving a table for you. As true hospitality professionals our aim is provide each guest with an extraordinary stay, so it is very saddening this was not your experience. I do hope you allow us another opportunity of welcoming you back to Barossa Weintal, it would be our pleasure to host you again to ensure we create the flawless guest experience we pride ourselves on. Warm Regards, Kylie Knudsen Front Office Manager

Lovely garden and plenty of parking around the front. Outside bright lights was an issue shining into room at night.

Great motel with modern rooms. Beds were amazing. Bathroom a little squishy but the building is old and not much can be done about this but very clean and modern. Sue on check in was very helpful and the location, though not close to the hub of Tanunda ( walking is a little far ) driving there is only a few minutes or a taxi can be booked.

My only negative comment is the vegan options at breakfast are very basic. I love a big breakfast .

Hi Kat, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We've gotten so many compliments on the beds, so I'm super pleased they are a hit and you found them comfortable. Defiantly isn't an ideal walk in the summer heat that's for sure! Thank you for that insight, I will defiantly note that advise with our Chef for consideration. We hope you return to the Barossa Weintal sooner rather than later. Kindest regards, Caitlin Roberts Front Office Manager.

Overall good experience and staff are lovely. The rooms are neat and clean.

There is however a serious acoustic issue between rooms. We were given a room with a door connecting to the adjacent room. The door was not sound-proofed and had a large gap underneath so we could clearly hear the tv and conversations happening in the adjacent room. We sealed the gap as best we could with cushions and had the aircon running constantly to try to mask the noise. There was also footfall noise from the unit above. The units are clearly very cheaply constructed with little acoustic insulation.

Thankfully our neighbours went to sleep relatively early. Otherwise it would have been a much more stressful experience.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights while visiting the area surrounding this hotel. We stayed in a studio room which was lovely. It consisted of a large family room with a comfy lounge and a bedroom with a king size bed. The bathroom even had a spa bath. The staff were super friendly and made everyone of out twenty seven in the group feel special. We had breakfast and dinner in the dining room each day. The meals were rather on the huge size - a big country breakfast each morning and tasty dinners at night. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again when we next visit.
