The Weintal is a very tidy and convenient place to stay in the Barossa. Taxis were easy to get in the Barossa and so the Weintal suited us perfectly as it was close to everything. The hotel bar is a good spot for a post wine tasting beer
We stayed at the hotel for two nights while visiting the area surrounding this hotel. We stayed in a studio room which was lovely. It consisted of a large family room with a comfy lounge and a bedroom with a king size bed. The bathroom even had a spa bath. The staff were super friendly and made everyone of out twenty seven in the group feel special. We had breakfast and dinner in the dining room each day. The meals were rather on the huge size - a big country breakfast each morning and tasty dinners at night. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again when we next visit.
Hotel room was very old and well past needing a renovation. The room smelt stale and stuffy and was dusty and had a mouldy bathroom. Staff advised a renovation was upcoming - well overdue. The hotel was not cheap ans really did not meet our expectations. We could walk into town, which was helpful. But I’m all other aspects disappointing.
We stayed for three nights having travelled over from WA for a week in SA. We had issues hiring a car and this altered our plans. Staff at the Hotel were excellent. They let us have an early check in and late check out to help us out. Thanks Kylie and Michelle for excellent customer service, it really was appreciated. The Hotel itself has a lovely bar and restaurant area, very modern and comfortable. The rooms are dated and motel style, there’s no getting around that. They were however very spacious, clean and well equipped. Wifi wasn’t great and perhaps rooms could benefit from a toaster. We ate at the restaurant one night and had breakfast one day. Both were good and service was friendly. We did find the evening menu somewhat limited, particularly if you are vegetarian. The Hotel is a 20 minute walk into town. We had no transport so we walked a lot! There wasn’t much choice of anywhere to eat near the hotel, you’d need to go into the centre of town. The hotel is set back from the main road so it is quiet. The staff really made our stay here and for that reason I would recommend this place.…
The hotel is about 2 km walk from the town proper which suited us fine. We specifically chose it as saw we could walk to a few nearby vineyards ( up to about 4 km away) and taxi back. The superior spa suites are spacious and more than adequate for a few nights visit. The beds are good ( pillows are way too hard though), Wi-Fi strong, and air conditioning good too. There is a separate lounge room with TV plus a small veranda. The rooms are a very short distance from the main building with reception, bar and Restaurant. The food in the restaurant was pretty good ( enjoyed a steak there). Well worth considering
Stayed here for 3 nights over NE with a group of 16 people. Staff were great, meals were superb , especially the fixed NYE dinner, we had a brilliant time, the band was fantastic. Would love to come back again, only negative thing is no swimming pool.
Although undergoing renovations we had a wonderful stay. Excellent staff and the meals were tops. The spa suite was tremendous and the room was clean beautifully presented. La de dah de dah we had a ripper break in the lovely Barossa, another one bites the dust!
We arrived on a Saturday for a three night stay to be told by reception that their in house restaurant was booked out for Saturday evening and would be closing for all meals at 2.30 Sunday afternoon. Dining in our room was not a reasonable option as there were no table and chairs supplied for that purpose. The only kitchen appliance provided was a kettle. No toaster, we were told by housekeeping that this was for "health and safety reasons". How absurd. After expressing our disappointment with the lack of dining options, the Front Office manager offered to deliver breakfast packs to our room on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Neither of these were delivered and no explanation was provided. The rooms are truly dated and not soundproof, our neighbours' tv was audible until 1.30 AM one morning. We checked out at 8.30 AM only to find that reception didn't open until 9.00 AM. We plan to return to Tanunda but certainly won't be staying at the Barossa Weital.…
Super comfy king size bed, snuggly and warm. Heaps of pressure in the huge shower, bathroom was spotless! Room had everything I needed for 6 night stay for work. Air conditioning was good. Meals were delicious in the restaurant, pizzas one night and steak another. Good wine selection which you would expect. They had wine tastings too. Saw in the suites and they were well appointed and very spacious, especially the spa. Will be back.
Stayed in Spa Room 21. This is an older establishment, but spotlessly clean, and partly renovated. Bed was comfortable .. no back ache in the morning .. always a plus!! Scoopon included cooked breakfast daily, plus 1 evening meal in restaurant. Food was excellent. Staff - reception, waiting & cleaning were all pleasant & friendly. Only complaint is no comfortable chairs. It is great to see this hotel gradually being brought more up to date :) Although hotel was fully booked out, we had a lovely, quiet and relaxing stay. Great water pressure in shower!! Have stayed here a couple of times before, and it is always improving. Will certainly be back for another stay in the future! p.s. This stay was still in covid conditions .. i.e. check in, social distancing etc.
