Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just a terrific three days in the Barossa and a great little stop over at the "Kavel" cottage. Great attention to detail - breakfast supplies were very generous, good size bath, calming garden setting, books/videos/Music CDs available. Area is very quiet, walking distance to the main street of Tanunda, good off-street parking. Just great.

After visiting the Barossa in 2019 for Vintage, we knew Goat Square would be an excellent location for our stay. Walking distance to restaurants, cafes and shops. Flaxman cottage, which looks out onto the square, was so comfortable and well appointed. It is easy to see that this cottage has been well cared for and set-up to please. Thank you!

This is most possibly the best place I have ever stayed in terms of facilities offered to guests.
A beautiful original cottage, tastefully renovated and supplied with everything one needs including nice crisp linen and a quality breakfast.
"Excellent" is the only possible description.

This place was wonderful. The manager, Ngaire was readily available to answer our questions. The Cottage was 1840s self-contained, nestled in historic Goat Square. It was cosy, charming, non-smoking & comfortable, in a quiet street within walking distance of Tanunda. We had access to a garden with a BBQ, a laundry & clothes line, a full kitchen including cutlery & crockery, provisions to prepare our own breakfast along with a bottle of Goat Square Shiraz. Included was free parking, a kettle, coffee filter. Tanunda offered a range of restaurants from the highest quality, 1918, to cafes, wine tasting bars and takeaway. Tanunda has artesian shops through to the eclectic or basic. It was a wonderful location and experience.

Was cold and wet outside when we arrived but it was warm and cosy inside the cottage. Tastefully decorated, these historical cottages are close to the Main street and the hotels and restaurants located there on. Breakfast provisions for the two days were provided and the spa bath was put to good use. Would recommend the cottages to one and all

Cute little cottage with everything you need. The heater wasn’t working so we used the wood heater, as well as a small heater the manager kindly brought us. Because we used the wood heater, she also brought us extra wood. It kept us toasty warm! Great having washing facilities and the shower/spa were great! Nice and quiet location, but close enough to walk into town.

Absolutely stunning colonial cottage in central Tanunda - right in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Full kitchen with breakfast foods provided - eggs, bread, bacon, etc. Separate lounge and huge bedroom with spa bath & shower in the bathroom.

The Goat Cottages (3 in total) look a bit strange on the outside, but inside they are well equipped and offer modern technology.
The included breakfast is available in the kitchen (bread, butter, eggs, bacon, orange juice, coffee, tea, milk and tomatoes) and you can prepare it yourself. There is also a free washing machine and seating in the courtyard - that fits in well!
It is only a few steps to the few shops and restaurants in Tanunda, and the real attraction of the Barossa Valley = wineries are just around the corner

Stayed here for three nights while visiting the Barossa and loved it. Stayed in the Menge Cottage which was spacious and comfy with an air con that worked beautifully. The beautiful provisions ( eggs, bacon, bread, oj) were fantastic and the available laundry was a bonus.
Tanunda is the perfect base for anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful cottages, ours had bedroom, separate bath/toilet, lounge and dining/kitchen. All genuine period cottages. Ours was well appointed, clean and had everything we needed.

Wine on arrival and breakfast supplied for our two day stay.

Well located in the centre of Tanunda
