Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Immaculately clean and well stocked within walking distance to the Foodland and the main street. This double bedroom suite style accomodation is perfect for a weekender. With separate bedroom, laundry room/ bathroom. The owner added little extras like coffee, and Tim tams. The bathroom was stocked with spare toiletries and fresh roses. The fittings in the kitchen and bathroom are dated with but they are immaculately clean and in as good as new working condition and in many ways make the accomodation quant like an Art Deco home.

These apartments are very under rated as they have everything you could possibly need for a few days in the Barossa Valley. The were very clean and a modern taste in furnishings. Heating and lighting was on on arrival and it gave such a welcoming entrance. The bed was comfortable and lots of kitchen accessories if you want to self cater.

We cant stop raving about this place!!! If you after a place with a kitchen (with everything included) lots of room to practice yoga, store your belongings and not feel like your encroaching on your partners space, then this is the place for you! We wish we found this place before as we would have stayed here much longer. If we visit the barossa again, we will be checking in. Thanks Louise for looking after us. Bravo!!!

These units can offer good value. Whilst a little old, the owner does tend to put the personal touches in, which is appreciated.
New tapware throughout is warranted and would give the whole unit a lift in appearance. Also the tv was very tiny computer screen size.
It is about a 1 to 1.5 km walk to the main street of Tanunda.
Did not sleep well unfortunately due to banging of tin from the adjacent business next door, due to high winds on this night, Would speak to the owners of that business to advise they need to do something about the noisy banging.

I was a bit spectacle when I booked a ‘budget unit’ but that’s just what it was.

This apartment is beyond what anyone could imagine. Very spacious and has all the amenities needed for a short or long stay. And the prices felt so low for what we got.

Will definitely getting in contact with Louise again if I am ever back in the Barossa.

Perfect location, unit has everything you need plus all the little touches few think of. When we arrived the lights were on and the heating was already on. Home away from home including a washing machine, clothes line and a clothes horse. Lovely part of the world and central to everything

Just arrived at our unit at Basedow Units. Warm unit with music playing. Enormous unit with everything you could possibly want. Excellent value for money. Recommend for long or short stays. So much space and comfort of a home.

These units were a great find! We stayed in the middle unit (in a group of 3) which suited us because it had a small courtyard out the back (incl BBQ) and a doggy door for our dogs! The unit is more like a courtyard home - very spacious, clean, comfy beds, and little extras like glad wrap, T sauce, and real coffee! There was also a washing machine, ironing board etc (not that we used these) but it would be a very comfortable stay if you were there for along time. Booking and collecting the key was very easy. I would thoroughly recommend this place to stay, a lot cheaper/better value for $, than most other accomodation on offer in the Barossa! Will be back.

We traveled with 2 young children and after an early morning start (4am) flight, drive and rain later, we arrived at the Basedow to a very welcoming house. The heater and lights were turned on when we entered which was greatly appreciated as it was raining heavily outside. There was a carport to park our car (free). Inside, there was a full carton of milk in the fridge and a jar full of cookies plus tea and coffee. The house was fully furnished with full kitchen plus an outdoor bbq, full laundry facilities and basic bathroom supplies.

The rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable, everything was clean and spotless. Additional blankets/covers/pillows were supplied.

There is a supermarket, chemist, newsagent and shops just down the road so we were able to cook meals inside as it rained outside which makes taking 2 young children out difficult.

The house is located in a central location to the wineries and other places but in a quiet street. I would recommend this place for families as it easily slept up to 6 people. It felt like a home away from home. Overall, we had a lovely stay at the Basedow which was more than a budget stay.

Couldn’t have been more welcoming. Louise (whom we never saw) made us very welcome by leaving the lights on and the radio playing in the unit. It was lovely to “come home to” just on dark after a long day on the road. Everything was there that we needed. Even plunger coffee and plunger, 1 litre milk, cling wrap, kitchen tidy bags, you name it! The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped in contrast to some more expensive places we have stayed in. It was great to be in such roomy accommodation with plenty of chairs. Good TV reception. No wifi, but only a short walk to tourist info where there are two internet computers. Foodland supermarket and some nice shops are also within easy walking distance.
The unit itself is nothing posh, with separate taps over hand basin in bathroom and the shower over the bath. Very good water pressure. Two small quest soaps and lovely white towels. Plenty of grab rails for people who might need them in the bathroom. The beds comfortable and everything was nice and clean.
The only downside – for light sleepers - was the noise from a nearby freight depot. Sometimes it went on all night. A blaring radio on a commercial station was trying to outdo the crashing and banging of containers and/or fork lifts and the noise of airbrakes and the beeping of reversing trucks. Fortunately it wasn’t as bad every night, and it didn’t affect those sleeping in the room on the town side of the unit. A great base for exploring and Clare Valleys.
