Beautiful stone grill with many choices. Kids had snitty's. The food was fantastic. There were 8 of us that could sit in front of a large open fire for before ordering our meals. Decor old but food made up for it and I think we were looking for an old country pub anyway.

The little units or rooms have all been done up and are lovely. The rooms are fresh and clean. They are roomy enough to manoover 2 walkers. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows, not like other places we have stayed. We were given a discount on bottles of wine for staying there. The only problem was booking had to be made in the hotel and the steps up were difficult and then trying to find the rooms was challenging

The hotel is old, but very comfortable, the restaurant is downstairs and very good, if you are after a good meal and a one night stay it is very good. The hotel in Tanunda is located within easy distance from the wineries. Bed very comfortable, the rooms are a decent size.

Not particularly impressed..
Went for lunch, place was full of flies.
I had a rock (or tooth?) in my food. The T-bone was tough and so, so over cooked.
My husband did like his seafood basket and it looked alright but if you're charging me $32 for a T-bone, do it right.

Decided to go here to have dinner with my boyfriend,
As soon as we walked in the dining room was empty and we thought something was up for a Friday night. It took 15 minutes to be served at the bar. When we finally were served a loud obnoxious man barely told us what table to sit on. Menus were sticky and had food allover them still, we both ordered schnitzels and they were disgusting, as well as the garlic bread, which was no better than your local pizza shop. I left feeling hungry because I couldn’t eat it all. The chicken was processed and the crumb was gross, and the salad was slimy and soggy, as well as my veg was grey and cold. During our meal the other woman working in the bar was unhygienic and wiped up something off the floor, then used that same cloth to wipe all the tables (without cleaning or rinsing it). The man that served us was also bagging out other establishments in the area with another table, telling them not to go there (my boyfriend and I now know that the pub is 10x better service and food wise), and swearing when describing them. Over all the whole experience was terrible, we would never go here again and never suggest this pub to anyone.

Well if you like flies, sticky tables and floors this is the place for you. We Stopped at the Valley hotel for a Stonegrill on Anzac Day. The Pub had a 15% surcharge as it was a public holiday which was ok. The food was good however the older man behind the bar is always miserable. When he came and took our plates he asked how the meal was and when I complained about the amount of flies in the restaurant his response was “well what am I meant to do about them”. I told him to try keeping the doors shut, which were latched open, or put streamer blinds up, he said “do you really think that will help”. I told him that it wouldn’t hurt. He just brushed me off and walked away. Won’t be going back again.

A small group of us had lunch in this hotel bang in the centre of town. We sat in the nice dining room by the window with a great view of the Lutheran church behind the beer garden. We all enjoyed our pub style meals chosen off the menu and blackboard. From the blackboard specials I had battered flathead and it was crispy and delicious. Serves were ample, costs reasonable and service was friendly and quite quick.

Went to dinner sun. nite I wanted the garlic seafood sauce I am not sleeping with you was the reply from across the table waying up my options I decided on the salmon ceaser. Well so glad I did a well constructed ceaser with a piece of excellently cooked salmon topped with a perfect coddled egg delicious and the unexpected anchovies really made this salad memorable it was great and I got to sleep in the bed win win.

Tanunda was packed when we ventured in here on a busy Sunday. Not sure what we expected but service was friendly and food was genuinely tasty and great value. From roast of day to salt and pepper squid to German mixed grill, we enjoyed it all.

Would head back again if in Tanunda

Had a fantastic German lunch here in the courtyard of The Valley Hotel. Such a lovely spot to relax in the sun enjoying a tasting plate with some fine German fare!

Everything was utterly delicious. We've been visiting family in the Barossa for decades and wish there was more German food like The Wurst Haus and Heinz's German Restaurant - both of which are sorely missed.
