Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Price reflects the rooms .. dated & tired .. but boy oh boy those views from the balcony!! 🙌.. lucky enough to have perfect weather to sit out & enjoy. The food was sensational ,We have been traveling for months & this was one of the best meals we have had ( I’m a hard critic) The pub is old & a bit smelly .All in all Cheap , clean accommodation & sensational food with a very decent wine list , very enjoyable.

Robe is one of my all-time favourite hideouts: snuggled right on the windswept Limestone Coast of South Australia. The best time to visit is the cold off-season, when the holiday-makers from Adelaide have retreated home. This leaves the old sea-faring streets of Robe quiet and begging for a stroll about. Perhaps a coffee here or there, and a pint at one of the very old stone pubs in this quaint town. The Robe Hotel has some great, affordable rooms on its top deck, overlooking a pearly sparkling bay. It's very romantic just cuddling up in bed there, listening to the restless sea outside, and waking up in the morning to a light breakfast on the verandah in the morning sunshine. The meals below at night in the bistro are wondrous, with a great selection of local wine. A great place just for a quiet weekend away, Rediscover life and love. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask for a room upstairs, facing to the sea. You will pay more, but it's worth it.

The venue was nice.
The food was actually pretty nice. The place was fairly quiet but the staff were upset and stressed and generally unpleasant.
Disappointing!

We stayed at the Robe hotel for eight days during October and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was reasonably priced, clean and spacious with a fantastic view over the bay. The bed was comfortable and the balcony area a great bonus!
We also enjoyed the food at the busy restaurant downstairs, especially the crab pasta and fish and chips, which were beautifully cooked and presented.
The bar area was good fun, with live music and a good selection of drinks. Excellent service throughout our stay from all bar staff, especially Simon who made us feel so welcome and is an asset to the hotel.
Thank you all for a lovely holiday.

We had checked out the menu before we went as every other place was booked out for a Saturday night, we tried to make a booking at about 2pm for. 7pm booking to only be told the few we had tried were already booked out, one place was the Sails Restaurant, where the girl who answered the call was very stuck up and quite abrupt on the phone with us. So we finally booked at the Robe hotel as they had an amazing menu online, where we got there we had to wait but it also seemed we were invisible, we finally got served to our booked table, the Menu we received was NOT the Menu online and just an A4 copy, the menu ONLY had a few dishes to select from very much just basic pub grub and overpriced, I had the fish and chips, it was quite tasty but the batter was soggy, we ordered desert, and after about 40 min we asked them where was the desert, yep they forgot about that order. The staff were not really friendly, except for one staff member who did look after us, her name is Amelia, if she was not there to smooth things over we would have walked out. Nice and basic food if you like that sort of thing!

The room was grubby, the shower head blocked, the room very dated, the toilet and wash basement n stained, mirrors losing their reflective backing.
The view however was great, but opening the door on to the balcony was an issue and I did not feel safe on the crumbling balcony.

I understand that the Hotel was recently sold - I hope that the new owners modernise.

Our evening meal in the bistro was quite good and the staff were friendly and personable.

My sincere thanks to staff of Robe Hotel. I went to Robe Hotel on 9/9/23 for my family reunion.Unfortunately, I left my wallet behind and came back home to Sydney next day. On finding out, my loss I called Reception and reported missing wallet to Christina. Next day I received a call advising me that they had found my missing wallet-someone had handed over to Reception.
People are so simple and honest in Robe. Thank you staff and management once again for your custom and honesty.I highly recommend, if visiting Robe, try out Robe Hotel- very nice Food, Pokies, Games and most importantly friendly and smiling staff. Angela Sharma

The food at this hotel was horrific on a grand scale, and the chef looked and sounded like he just got out of prison.
