Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room was clean but the bathroom was extremely small I couldn’t have even got the cat in let alone swing it in fact you had to step back into the bedroom to dry yourself and dress you couldn’t even turn around without hitting a wall Generally speaking very tired and outdated Would not recommend staying there

After a long journey we were somewhat deflated when we checked in at reception and were given our keys and the directions, for a short drive, to our “apartment”. The block of apartments felt more like being on an industrial estate and were quite basic. You have to walk/drive for any eateries or get a takeaway. Not a great nights sleep and we left early in the morning. I wouldn’t recommend but this may suit many others.

Response from Jo-Anne Roseenzweig, Owner at Robetown Motor Inn and Apartments
Responded 17 Oct 2023
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to hear that our apartments did not meet your expectations. There is a lawned area as well as some native scrub at the apartments. The eateries are just a short walk away. Once again we thank you for your feedback and appreciate the time

Great location, with just a short walk to the shops, cafes and restaurants on the Main Street, the playground and the Town Beach. The rooms are everything you need, clean and neat, with parking right by the room. What made the stay was the wonderfully welcoming hosts. The new owners are on site, available and very happy to chat - they took the time to wish our daughter a happy birthday and make sure she had a lovely stay.

Not up to a supposedly 4 star establishment. Stupid pool hours, dirty oven, lounge suit and floor. Unsatisfactory kitchen appliances and utensils and a ridiculous price upgrade for an extra two nights. Robe is a fantastic place to visit, but this accommodation was crap.

Clean room. Good location on the main road into Robe town centre. As with other similar motels built at the same time, the soundproofing between rooms isn't great. Did not use wifi but password was provided. Reverse cycle airconditioning which we used as a heater.

Very large and well equipped rooms in the centre of town. There is also a well equipped cooking and eating room in the hotel which is a nice touch. Reception is open until 17:00 for Check in. Only downside was that the Pool was closed.

We stayed one night in the 'motel section' of this establishment. Cost of the room was $130.00- this was the cheapest room we stayed in during our one week driving holiday in South Australia. The room was clean, warm, the motel located within walking distance of the main street of Robe and the check-in experience was pleasant and efficient. However, the room was very old (probably constructed during the 70's) and was badly in need of updating. There were newer rooms elsewhere on the premises, so if I was staying there again I'd request one of these newer rooms. One night in the old room was fine, longer than that- probably not.

We purchased this holiday on Holiday Auctions, the owners were the most helpful and obliging nothing was too much trouble for them, my wife liked a plant in the garden and asked for a cutting he gave her 3 plants to bring home plus a bucket to carry them in, great people and a lovely spot.

Our family of four adults stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment, which we all loved. Kitchen had all we needed, especially a good size fridge and microwave. Shower was good and even though apartments need updating and painting, they were clean. Believe will be updating soon. The motel with pool is not next to the apartments, but will suit anybody who likes peace and quiet. Tv netfix is available and also has a dvd player. Air conditioning is sufficient, as is rather cool at night. There is the biggest Foodland store close by that has everything you need. Worth having a browse around. Would not hesitate in staying at these apartments again.

We bought a stay via travel auction and I would say, this is possibly the worst experience I have ever had. We stayed for four nights back in August last year and during this time we only saw staff twice, once when we complained the heater wasn't working and once to be told it was our fault. When we booked the accommodation we were told the motel was full and we were lucky to get in. Upon arrival we found only 2 other rooms were booked out. We were given a room which was really outdated and this was the room where the heating wasn't working. Upon complaining we were offered a blow heater for the next three nights. After a heated conversation we were moved to a different room, which luckily was a little bit more modern. There was no in room service during our stay and upon check out we were ignored. I would never stay here again and never recommend this accommodation to anyone
