#2 of 2 Speciality lodging in Port Vincent
Our beachfront caravan park is located on a quiet beach in the picturesque seaside town of Port Vincent on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. We have a range of powered sites, unpowered sites, 4 bedroom villa accommodation and a large range of cabin accommodation for individuals and families. We also have 2 dormitory rooms to accommodate for large group booking, school camps or sporting clubs. All this within a 10 minute walk to the town centre and being centrally located on the Yorke Peninsula, makes this a great location to base your stay and explore the diverse region. Port Vincent is a popular destination for year round fishing, seasonal crabbing, kayaking, walking, sailing or simple relaxation. We even have our own 9 hole putt putt golf course and a coin opp games arcade room is coming soon which are both open to the public 7 days a week.

We initially booked for 2 nights and further booked for additional 2 nights. Management were very helpful. Clean amenities and individual disability bathroom available. Very close to town and shops. Good swimming area.

Booked in here for 10 nights and we left after only 5 due to a rude and ignorant park manager .sitting under awning he arrived and placed a sprinkler system on grass next to us wetting us and the washing we just put out. Then we found our dog eating feed and weed pellets he had put on the grass

A lovely, intimate seaside park, however the camp kitchen was extremely grimy and in desperate need of a good scrub, hardly good enough considering the Covid19 alert we were currently experiencing. It wasn't serviced for the three days we were there and we questioned the ashtrays filled with cigarette butts in the outdoor cooking/dining area which had also not been emptied. The kitchen bin was never emptied either. New showers looked good, but hot water was limited to a trickle, not even enough to wash your hair. The shower rooms lacked a power point, resulting in heading to the toilets to dry your hair.

Thank you for your feedback. I can assure you that the whole park is checked and cleaned daily and the bins are emptied when needed. As for the ashtray....It was emptied regularly but another guest in the park who is using it, keeps puts it back and fills it up (every day...) What can we do? At least they are using the ashtray! I have not heard any complaints about our shower pressure in the ladies showers, but we will look into this. We agree, the shower rooms are lovely, but there are no power points for we do not encourage guests to linger to long in the shower rooms as others may need to use them. As you could imagine, the showers do get very busy in the warmer months and you would not like to be lined up waiting for someone to dry their hair. You will need to use the power points in your own van, in your cabin over the vanity area in the ladies toilets for hair drying.

We are a group of five Asian families who booked into this caravan park for two nights. We find it clean and quiet. The grass was lush & beautiful. The amenities were good. The only downside was the unfriendliness of the male & bald manager of the park. Not very welcoming. He was very rude & screamed at us when one of us tried to bend a palm leaf which was tied with a nylon string which was very dangerous as it was right in the allocated car space & gets into your face as soon as you get out & into the car. Very unprofessional! One of us has also overheard him saying “we’re swarmed with Asians”. Such a racist thing to say. This is a multicultural country. Also, they had the airconditioner in one of the cabins replaced on our second day which was very inconvenient as we had to vacate the room in order for the electrician to do his job which took him from around 9am to 12 noon. Good thing, we had the other cabins where we could stay while he was there. Otherwise, we would just be staying outside. Also, the porch light was not working, hence, we were not able to sit outside on our first night. It was fixed the next day, though, when we informed the manager about it. Overall, our stay was great. But we don’t think that we’d be coming back to this caravan park! The other caravan parks we’ve been to had more friendly & welcoming managers.

No mention of swags not allowed on grass when the booking was made and we had 4. No hot water for most of our family on each day, so no hot showers, the first time this has ever happened in any caravan park over more then 30 years of travelling. The owners did not seem concerned about this at all. Our site had a sewerage plate which emitted horrid smells and we could not sit outside our van. On the plus side the grass was nice and the bathroom clean. And although not related to the caravan park, we did not feel welcome at the local cafe either.

Thank you for your feed back and we are happy to hear you liked our pet friendly sites and clean amenities. I bet you dog and pet rabbits loved the lush green grass! We do try our best to be open and honest with people when taking bookings (inc: caravan sites/camping sites). We ask many questions upon booking, including size of caravan and amount of people staying to ensure they are booked into the right site for their needs. It is tricky when booking sites for other people to ensure the correct messages are received and it is helpful to mention if you have swags or tents upon booking, for we do have sites available for these also. As for the hot water issue, we have also never experienced this in the 14 year’s we have run this caravan park. As the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted the week before, we found we we’re inundated with people wanting to get away (during Winter) and large groups taking longer than normal showers with a combination of very cold morning temperatures. Our hot water services are normally more than sufficient and have never run out. Only one other person apart from yourself, mentioned this problem to us for I think the hot water did reheat quite quickly each time but we will keep an eye on this if we get busy again during the colder months. We are all trying to do our best in this constantly changing time and I have found people very patient overall.
