Detailed Reviews
Booked 4 nights in the Spa Cabin using the caravan park's website. Paid at time of booking at a cost of $197/night.
The park is very clean & tidy.
Booking in was easy. The woman was very helpful. Asked about wifi & given a 1 day voucher. Pay if you want more. Given we were there for 4 nights with a the nightly rate of $197, we thought this a bit miserable.
Our spa cabin is the one that looks directly on the water & what a view! Its fabulous.
It was very quiet when we were there.
The cabin is a good size for the 2 of us & comfortable.
Our bed was comfortable and we slept well.
The ensuite works well. Its roomy & there are plenty of additional towels. The shower has good water pressure.
The air con seems to have only one speed - roaring, but even so, doesn't reach to the bedroom. Thankfully we did not need it running all the time.
The stovetop worked well. There is a microwave, kettle & toaster as well. Minimal saucepans provided, but that was fine as we weren't cooking up much.
The tablets for the dishwasher did not fit the machine, so after the first time of it not cleaning the dishes, we hand washed.
Did one load of clothes washing in the park facilities. $4.20 (uses $1 coins & 20cent) There are no pegs for clothes lines, but the manager offered to loan me hers. She also helped me out with jamming money. The drier takes 20cent coins or $1.
Our view & easy access to the bay kept us happy, but certainly the wifi situation, the roaring air con let down a great experience.

We are a group of five Asian families who booked into this caravan park for two nights. We find it clean and quiet. The grass was lush & beautiful. The amenities were good. The only downside was the unfriendliness of the male & bald manager of the park. Not very welcoming. He was very rude & screamed at us when one of us tried to bend a palm leaf which was tied with a nylon string which was very dangerous as it was right in the allocated car space & gets into your face as soon as you get out & into the car. Very unprofessional! One of us has also overheard him saying “we’re swarmed with Asians”. Such a racist thing to say. This is a multicultural country.
Also, they had the airconditioner in one of the cabins replaced on our second day which was very inconvenient as we had to vacate the room in order for the electrician to do his job which took him from around 9am to 12 noon. Good thing, we had the other cabins where we could stay while he was there. Otherwise, we would just be staying outside. Also, the porch light was not working, hence, we were not able to sit outside on our first night. It was fixed the next day, though, when we informed the manager about it.
Overall, our stay was great. But we don’t think that we’d be coming back to this caravan park! The other caravan parks we’ve been to had more friendly & welcoming managers.

Response from Park Manager, General Manager at Port Vincent Caravan Park & Seaside Cabins
Responded 12 Mar 2021
We are glad to hear you and your group liked our clean and quiet caravan park. We do all work very hard to keep the park and gardens neat and tidy. We always recommend asking before touching the landscaping or simply move your car over if a palm frond is in your way for this will assist us in keeping up our high standards. We agree, It is inconvenient when occasionally we have maintenance issues, but sometimes these things happen and we work hard to rectify these things as soon as possible. Unfortunately there was an issue with your air conditioner and we had to have it replaced during your stay. Being that is was winter, we thought you would like the heater working so we asked you if the electrician could go in and fix it for you and he did as quickly as he could. If you did hear a racist comment, this did not come from any of our staff members. We are sorry if you thought it was but we asked them and we are not sure who this may have been....

This small park is absolute beach front, and many clients walk out and collect crabs. The whole place is neat, clean and well-maintained. Sites are ok sized, mostly lush grass. Management is brusque at best and considered rude by many.

Response from PortVincent, Owner at Port Vincent Caravan Park & Seaside Cabins
Responded 14 Feb 2020
I am glad to hear that you liked our quiet beachfront caravan park for this is what we all love about the location also. The management and staff do take great pride in the parks cleanliness and appearance and we thank you for the compliment for it does take a fair amount of work to keep it this way. I am sorry if you thought the management were rude for they were possibly just busy at the time and it is difficult some days to get to talk to everyone. The staff do try to keep out of the way as much as possible and let people enjoy their holiday in peace but with this in mind, there is always staff available for help or enquiries if needed.

The deluxe cabin was average. Could of been a little more cozy , just a rug on the floor, perhaps a personal touch would have been nice.
The TV didn't work, had to approach owners - the owner came and eventually replaced it as the one in the cabin wasn't was not working. ( perhaps these basic things need to be checked.
The owner didn't appear happy being asked to come have a look. Not very approachable I thought.
Parking is a tight squeeze for bigger cars. Sign out the front states 1 car per site, perhaps the caravan opposite us couldn't read sign. 3 cars to one van parked on lawn area, which is why it was hard to get in and out of our park lot.
Prices on website don't match what we paid for ours per night by $35 more. I don't believe it to be worth it.
Overall pretty average.
There is no free wifi. Unless you pay for it.
Most places we have stayed at, have free wifi for there guests.

Responded 25 Apr 2021
Thank you for you feedback Toni, We will take this on board. The price you paid is correct for the school holiday price. The deluxe cabins do drop down in price by $35 next week to our off peak price. Maybe that was the price you were looking at on our website? I'm sorry if the caravan site opposite you had to many cars but if you came and told us, we could have asked them to move them for you. We don't know these things unless we are told sometimes. Much like your T.V. which was working for the last guest but sometimes these things happen. We always have spare appliances on hand and we did replace it straight away with an even bigger T.V. Overall, I hope you managed enjoyed your weekend.

This park has to be one of the cleanest and best maintained parks we have stayed in for quite some time. They offer pet friendly cabin accommodation in a very comfortable cabin in a quiet location, a credit to the owners. The cabin was basic but clean, close to town and beach front. The owners were welcoming and friendly. I would have no hesitation recommending this park to anyone venturing to port vincent. We will definately return in the future.

We booked using the Great State Voucher. Unfortunately we did not do our research prior. We were sadly disappointed with the ‘cabin’ and the park ‘amenities/activities’. The cabin was an old solid brick cottage style which was very very small and attached to the neighbouring cottage. Where you would share the ‘verandah’ area that had a lovely view of our car. We could hear everything happening in the neighbours bathroom. The tiny tv was directly above the tiny stove which was way across the room from the grimy old couch. The DVD player was so thick with grease we did not even want to touch it. Upon trying to use it we discovered the cords had snapped off - the manager did promptly provide a new set of cords.
The second bedroom the bunks were so tightly packed in that it felt like sleeping in a cage. Families please be warned that if you have more than 2 children under 9 they are not ‘allowed’ on the top bunks. The bathroom there was no shelving space to put anything just the smallest sink we had ever seen. The kitchen sink also does not hold water so good luck doing the dishes it’s a speed race! We asked to play mini golf and were advised that ‘due to covid’ they did not have enough staff to clean the balls etc, meaning there’s literally nothing to do in the park. The cafe on the beach had amazing meals it’s the only part of our visit we enjoyed.

We are surprised to hear you did not like your cabin you booked using your Great State Voucher. The Great State Voucher scheme is a wonderful incentive offered by our state government to encourage regional travel and we were happy to be involved once again to offer our guests an even more affordable holiday and we have been overwhelmed with the response. We did offer 3 different styles of accommodation using your Great State Voucher this year and you chose to book one of our more budget style cabins. I'm sorry to hear you did not do your research for I think you should have booked one of our Deluxe Cabins on offer for they are a more modern and spacious cabin. Our standard cabins are a simple & affordable accommodation option as stated on our website and the size of the rooms were mentioned on the great state voucher promotion. These cabins are very popular with families on a tight budget and workers who are not here for the view. The advisory sign regarding the age of children to use the top bunks is only "advisory" for the Australian Standards states that the risk of injury or death from a fall from an elevated bed is 10 times higher for children under 9 years of age, compared to a non elevated bed. The cabin is advertised as having 2 bunk beds and it is ultimately your choice if you allow your children to sleep on them. We are also saddened that our putt putt golf course is closed due to the high risk of COVID-19, but we made this decision to keep both our guests and our staff safe as much as we can. We do thank you for letting us know of a couple of small maintenance issues and we will rectify these immediately for we do take great pride in our cleanliness & maintenance over the whole caravan park.

We booked for 5 nights, stayed only 3 night as we had a family medical emergency in Adelaide, we notified the park management and we’re refused any refund. Absolutely no sympathy or empathy from them at all. Just cashing in on others misfortune!
Also not impressed with the way other guests were treated in front of us when guests arrived 10 minutes early they were not allowed to set up van on lawns, community bbq was filthy and couldn’t be used, lucky we had our own Weber Q.
Taking our complaint to the commission of consumer affairs and the office of fair trading.

I can assure you that our staff are always sorry to see our guest having to leave early and cut their holidays short. We would much rather everyone be able to stay for the full duration of their booking. We understand that sometimes things happen but we do have a cancelation policy in place which is mentioned on our website and was sent to you upon booking which states that there is no refund on early departures. This is simply because we are unable to rebook it at such short notice and we did turn people away earlier in the week that wanted that cabin. They could not come for you had booked it, and we were holding it for you for the whole 5 days. Thank you for your concern regarding our caravanning guest that came in early. They did not mind waiting for they are regulars and keep coming back every year for they love our green grass and did not mind waiting 10 minutes while the gardener packed up the hoses. I can also assure you that our bbq's and camp kitchens are cleaned every day but people use them sometimes do not clean them as well as we do.

Booked van in for 8 nights to enjoy my wife's birthday. Set up first night started raining. That night the caravan roof started leaking for the first time ever on a 3 year old van. Bed was soaked through and all clothing in the cupboards above the bed saturated. Next morning van power went off, only our van. No cloths, no bed and no power we decided to head home. Office does not open until 10am (unheard of in parks) no response to ringing the office door bell and no one would answer the land line so left a message explaining our situation and headed home. Once home tried to ring at least 4 times during office hours to no avail. Finally sent an email, once again explaining the circumstances we found ourselves in, only finally after that we did receive a response. The management (if you can call them that) stated they didn't get my message (handy) and didn't even know we were gone until they received our email. That's how often they get off their arses and leave the office. Also informing me they do not have a cancellation clause and will not even receive a credit for the 7 nights paid in full. Sort of says a lot about them. I would not now go back or recommend them to anyone. Never met the lady but he seems to have the personality of a pit bull (sorry pit bulls).

I'm sorry you had a maintenance issue with your leaky van but we did have quite a heavy rain event during your stay. Most vans are fairly waterproof but unfortunately rain events are out of our control. Maybe you could take that up with your caravan manufacturer or insurance provider? Our office did not receive any phone calls or messages from you after your arrival and as you mentioned, you did receive our cancelation policy upon booking (also mentioned on our website) which states there are no refunds on early departures.

No mention of swags not allowed on grass when the booking was made and we had 4. No hot water for most of our family on each day, so no hot showers, the first time this has ever happened in any caravan park over more then 30 years of travelling. The owners did not seem concerned about this at all. Our site had a sewerage plate which emitted horrid smells and we could not sit outside our van. On the plus side the grass was nice and the bathroom clean. And although not related to the caravan park, we did not feel welcome at the local cafe either.

Response from PortVincent, Manager at Port Vincent Caravan Park & Seaside Cabins
Responded 9 June 2020
Thank you for your feed back and we are happy to hear you liked our pet friendly sites and clean amenities. I bet you dog and pet rabbits loved the lush green grass! We do try our best to be open and honest with people when taking bookings (inc: caravan sites/camping sites). We ask many questions upon booking, including size of caravan and amount of people staying to ensure they are booked into the right site for their needs. It is tricky when booking sites for other people to ensure the correct messages are received and it is helpful to mention if you have swags or tents upon booking, for we do have sites available for these also. As for the hot water issue, we have also never experienced this in the 14 year’s we have run this caravan park. As the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted the week before, we found we we’re inundated with people wanting to get away (during Winter) and large groups taking longer than normal showers with a combination of very cold morning temperatures. Our hot water services are normally more than sufficient and have never run out. Only one other person apart from yourself, mentioned this problem to us for I think the hot water did reheat quite quickly each time but we will keep an eye on this if we get busy again during the colder months. We are all trying to do our best in this constantly changing time and I have found people very patient overall.

The putt putt is weeds and dirt and they charge $10 per person. The basic cabins are very very basic with beds that hard you get sleep on them. limited utensils, curtains that did not open. TV remote didn't work. People are grumpy.
