Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely rooms with doors at both ends of modern room. only 12 rooms, 6 ground floor, all with sliding doors, upstairs with balconies. Clean and tidy, large shower recess, fridge under vanity in ensuite, different, but it works. Very helpful lady( Lotus, mine host?) offered use of BBQ and to provide utensils to do so (so different to Hopetoun Motel in W.A. less said there the better) Laundry facilities. Overall very happy here , would cheerfully stay again.

Our room was clean, with plenty of room, despite having a double bed, single bed and a small dining suite. The shower was huge, and I loved the massage-like pressure. Toiletries were supplied. Despite being on the main road (but on the edge of town) it was quiet at night, so we got a good night's sleep.

Recently stayed for two nights Easy walk to town, close to wineries but to me more importantly very clean. When I can walk on the carpet with bare feel and don’t feel like the carpet is dirty then I am happy. They are older style but cleanliness to me is important. Would definitely stay again

Conveniently located on the edge of Penola, the Motor Lodge was a great choice. Exceptionally clean, very comfortable bed & nice to have a blanket option in warmer weather. Very quiet. We would recommend.

Lovely quaint room with everything you need. Shower was to die for, pressure, space and heat all exceptional. Very quiet part of town, so perfect for a great sleep after a busy day. Nice break between Mt Gambier and Naracoorte.

Stopped in for 1 night to save driving home after wine tasting and dinner. Clean and comfortable, all we needed for the night. Great location as quick walk to centre of penola for pubs and cafes etc. And short drive, or ride, or use the walking trail to visit many great wineries.

The facilities in my room were clean, modern and I didn’t want for anything. Great value for money and location. I’ll likely be a return visitor as it exceeded my expectations. Thanks to all the team @ the Lodge.
