Stayed over the weekend with some fantastic friends. What beautiful accommodation, booked both town houses plenty of room, everything you could ask for. Walking distance to everything. Memorable stay. Thanks

Having the two townhouses made for great accommodation for a group of six couples while staying in the Coonawarra Wine region. The facilities were excellent and we were able to use the two units as one large unit, enjoying BBQ breakfast and dinner together. The mezzanine level bedrooms look over the living area so not completely private but they do...

This is a lovely townhouse with a fantastic location in the middle of Penola. When we arrived we couldn't believe that we'd found such a lovely place to stay. There was a bottle of wine left for us along with some breakfast supplies in the fridge which was very nice. We loved our stay here but as the other reviews...

Hi Ozecrosse, Thank you for your kind comments and points of view. We actually based the mezzanine layout on a positive B&B experience we had while travelling abroad and thought it was a unique design and approach to open plan. Thank you

I was very impressed with our stay at Verdehlo. The place was clean and well appointed and very large. Would be hard for multiple couples to share as the bathroom/bedroom upstairs are easily seen from downstairs but we were just a couple. They left breakfast for us and a bottle of wine. Felt more like staying at a friends place...

We arrived to find that the code that we were given to the front door wasn't working. It then took about 30 minutes to contact the owner.... and another 30 minutes to actually get into the apartment. Luckily there was a great second hand shop in town to keep us busy. When we settled into the unit we realised that...

ouMy husband and I , along with our dear friends booked this accomodation for 3 nights about 1 mth ago. Upon arrival we were all impressed until we looked at our bedrooms. One was spacious with tv, and extremely generous ensuite.Although if you were shy about using the toilet I would not recommend this place. The other bedroom was tiny almost...

We stayed at Merlot this weekend as somewhere different. We have stayed at most other places that are available in Penola/Coonawarra. This place is marketed as up market accommodation for 2-6 adults, one of a pair with the mirror image Verdelho townhouse. There is a mezzanine bedroom with bathroom facilities, not bad, king size bed, twin showers, BUT, the whole...

We stayed for 2 nights. We had no problems. The unit is heavily tiled and feels cold and sterile. Weird bathrooms but very clean. A rug in the lounge would help make it feel cosy. The pub across the road was noisy (music) but it stopped at 11ish on a Friday night. The quality coffee, wine and chocolates were a...

Beautiful building well appointed with amazing bathrooms and a comfortable bed. The TV was difficult to operate and was old technology - not what was expected in luxury accomodation. Having stayed in other luxury units, this place could definitely improve attention to detail and provide more value for money. No wine and chocolates for us either!

We stayed 2 nights in Merlot, of Merlot and Verdelho Townhouses in Penola. You have to call before you arrive to get the combination to open both the gate for parking, and the townhouse itself. (The parking gate closes automatically after a certain amount of time). We did not see the owner(s) of this townhouse the whole time we were...
