Detailed Reviews
We have just returned from a few days at the Marion Bay Caravan Park which is a smallish but great little park aimed at families.
The site was nicely shaded throughout the course of the day and made for a great location to just sit, read or have a quiet drink and watch the world go by.
It is clearly a family park and it is refreshing to hear children being children. Chasey on the pushbike seemed to be the game of choice interweaved with time on the bouncing balloon and at the beach.
It really is the sort of place where parents can relax and the kids can play without the normal worries.
The amenities are clean and the owners/staff are always on the go - but the results do show and speak for themselves.
A very short walk to the beach access and onto pristine white sandy beaches was a joy.
This was my first trip back to the region for probably 30 years but I will be back a lot sooner that that just to unwind because this is what this park is all about - relaxing & slowing down.

Started with a budget cabin of 100.00 per night and quickly figured out we were not going to fit on the double bed. Managers were very accommodating and switched us to the last cabin free, which was 160.00 night. Number 11 was very tidy, lovely linen and well equipped with every thing we needed for 4 days and 3 nights. The bed was a queen size and very comfy. There were 3 bunks we didn't need, but used that room as a store room. This cabin had a 6 seat dining table, nothing fancy, but due to the very cold weather our caravanning friends and ourselves ate here every night. There was a good sized TV and one in the bedroom.
The bathroom had towels, hand towels, face washers, soap, and a spare toothbrush etc.
Good car park area and a porch which had an outdoor table and 6 chairs.
We liked staying here. Marion Bay is a little bit quiet for us, but I Imagine crazy busy, when it is warm. The town is full of seasonal accommodation.

Stayed at Marion Bay caravan park for seven nights. Nice park and well looked after.
Had fake grass by each caravan sight which was great. Lots of BBQs and a nice big camp kitchen. Had jumping pillow and playground for children. There was a fish cleaning station if you were lucky enough to catch fish. The bathrooms looked recently renovated and the showers were terrific. Tv reception was bad but the free wifi was excellent. Would recommend this caravan park and would stay here again.

Wally and his wife definitely make you feel at home. The cabins are clean and luxurious. The park is clean and well kept. Playground is a hoot for all the children and it is certainly wonderful to see all the kids from different parts of Australia having fun together. Council needs to really clean up the beaches and remove all the seaweed - would be beautiful if this was done.

Every year my wife and I take our our caravan to this park which has seen some amazing changes in the last few years. Previous managers, Tom and Kylie "set the bar" pretty high with their friendliness, helplfulness and new ideas. The new managers, Kellie and Wally and taken the bar even higher! Such nice people and a credit to southern Yorke Peninsula tourism. "Our" powered site near the sea-front was there for us again and Wally, doing his "daily rounds" would stop for a chat - such good homely atmosphere. Top marks to you both Kellie and Wally!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marion Bay Caravan Park. The whole park is kept immaculately, the powered site we had was spacious and the artificial turf surface on the slab was appreciated. It was a short walk of 50 mts to the beach, and the coastal walks are close by. Amenities are amongst the cleanest I’ve ever come across. Staff were courteous.
Would highly recommend this park.

We arrived on a Thursday and it is now Sunday and it is the first time they have emptied the bin in the Ladies toilet. No one has cleaned it either ! The mens toilet had run out of toilet paper and it took them a couple of hours to remedy this. This is mid morning when everybody needs to use the loo. The camp kitchen floor is filthy. Whoever owns the park needs to kick the staff up the bum and get them to do their job properly.

Arrived and opened cabin, greeted by very musky smell in bedroom. Opened windows & sprayed air freshener & improved slightly.
The wifi is next to useless had to drive two hours to get another SIM card as my carrier didn’t have coverage here. Assumed the wifi would be able to be used.
Awoken to the sounds of a cement truck outside the window, thanks & on another day the dulcet tones of chainsaws or blower vacs.
Cabin was ok, with views of other cabins or their owners cars. Plenty of better places to stay at Yorkes.

Marion Bay Caravan Park is our home away from home. It is our 'go to' when we want to switch off and recharge our batteries.
We often get a cabin with the basic amenities and have never been disappointed. All basics are provided, including little shampoo/conditioner and soap.
You're not going to get PayTV here and unless you're with Telstra, your mobile reception is going to be choppy and that's half the beauty of this place. What you do have is the peace and serenity surrounded by nature and lined with amazing beaches to fish, swim and surf. The Innes National park is a short drive away where you can check out different beaches and the historical township. The staff have always been accommodating, friendly and during holidays will put on a pancake brekkie, outdoor movie nights, food vans. There are pedal karts, a jumping pillow, playground, enough to keep even the most ADHD child entertained. Within Marion Bay, you have a general store/servo and the Marion Bay Tavern. It's very simple and more of what we need in this world these days. Definitely recommend for a getaway, where you can spend your days out and about, basking in the sunshine, enjoying the ocean, fishing for that great catch and coming back to your cabin to crash out after a day full of adventure. For as long as this place exists, we will always be coming back here at least once or twice every year ❤️
