Best thing about this place is the beds and how quiet it is.

The kitchen is very old but functional. Aircon in lounge sounds like it’s an airplane flying. Again very old.

On our Amex booking there were no instructions, hence we had to ask how to enter as nobody is really there to greet and give you keys.

We asked for an extra towel and were told “we have given you 3 towels as it was 3 people. I’ll bring one later.” The towel was never brought though.

Beds are very comfy, walking distance to some wineries and also to Ministry of beers.

Fireplace ban between December and April, but it wasn’t written on the website.

Needs to have better greeting and also more accomodating. A simple request as a towel it’s not much to ask (and wasn’t given)

We are so sorry for your experience. We have investigated, and your travel agent did not pass on the comprehensive confirmation and welcome emails to you, which outlined checkin details, and also the woodfire fire ban restriction dates (they are on our own website as well), and contatc phone numbers for us, and our on site caretaker.  Our caretaker did attempt to deliver the extra towel to you, but kept on missing you when you were out. The cottages are priced less than the majority of 2 bedroom cottages in the Barossa, but as you have pointed out, are in a great location, and are comfortable, with all facilities - including the complimentary free coffee pods, tim tams, noodles, porridge, milk, and bottled water.  Once again sorry for the mixup.

Love it here! A slight of quiet and tranquillity! Great location - close to wineries, coffee and good food! Communication was great, easy to book, and very friendly host. Comfy beds, loved sitting on the little balcony in the morning listening to the birds with my coffee! Would stay again

Stayed here with my husband & Mum after a few crazy days visiting SA for a family wedding. It was just what we needed after. Quiet apart from all the beautiful bird life which was welcomed. Cottage was clean, cosy and comfortable. The coffee pod machine and Tim Tams were a bonus!

I booked the cottage under the impression that it was situated on a nice hillside because the owner explained it to me that way. Instead itwas lliterally in his backyard full of scrap. I explained to them that it was for a special occassion (hen's night getaway) for 6 adults and he said that the cottage was for 6 people. Instead there were two rooms, one with queen size bed the other with two single beds. The other two people had to sleep either on the floor or a little arm chair or a crappy, dusty, worn out couch. Yuck. Terrible owner, would not even offer a discount nor an apology. He simply said bad luck & that's the way it is. For the amount of money I paid for one night which was close to $400 the service, the scenery, the cottage, the rooms is appalling. I would not recommend it to anyone & I am taking my complaint further as I believe their website is false & contains misleading information. People should not be paying $400 for this place.

We stayed at the Barossa Country Cottages in March. This is a lower cost alternative to the 17 star properties near the wineries. The cottage is clean, nicely decorated and fully equipped with 2 bed rooms (one with 2 singles and one with a queen bed). The kitchen is nice and has all the tools to make a meal. The owner/manager, Carole is very friendly and helpful. She supplied maps and winery advice which was spot on. She supplies food to cook your own breakfast (eggs, meats, cereal, coffee, tea, bread, fresh squeezed OJ, milk). There is also complementary port in the living room and a nice porch to sit outside if the weather is fine. There is also a BBQ area shared with the other cottage. Lyndoch is about 15 km from the wine country and the cottage is just off the main road and very quiet. Lyndoch also offers easy access to the Adelaide Hills which we did in a loop starting in Adelaide.
The only issue we had is a late arrival means all restaurants in the town are closed by 8PM meaning a 15 km drive to Gawler.

We stayed in the Geranium Cottage for our mid week stay. Carol is a very welcoming host. Excellent breakfast provisions, bottle of local wine, chocolates and port on arrival. Very quiet and nice deck out front to sit. Unfortunately the bed in the main room was very firm and the lounge is old and needs replacing. The bathroom is outdated and needs some repairs to the very rattly hot water system. Security door did not close properly and there is no WiFi access as advertised. The lounge set up is not conducive to putting up sofa bed.

Arrived late Friday to a warm welcome from Michael the owner, there are two cabins situated at the rear of the owners property. Michael showed us around and I was especially excited to sit in front of the open fire but Michael said they had run out of firewood. Of the two cabins we chose the most expensive (Jacaranda) at $195 per night because the other cabin (Geranium) does not have a fire and that is reflected in the price, $30 dollars more a night, so to be told the firewood wasn't available was a little bit disappointing, we traveled just 5 mins up the road to get some and it cost $50.00 - something that should have been provided. The fire aside, The accommodation was clean, tidy and there were some lovely touches like chocolates, port and a bottle of wine. Breakfast was nice too. The pub down the road is run down and extremely expensive but you can travel 20 mins by car to find nice eateries.

Just out of Lydoch, we made a last minute booking as 2 couples.

There were two bedrooms, kitchen well stocked with tools and provisions, everything worked and we didn't want for anything. It was very clean and very quiet. We used the outdoor BBQ and it worked well for breakfast and dinner. There was a spa which we did not use.

The decor was a little dated however it was very clean and well presented. We found the breakfast provisions generous.

At $315 we did feel it was expensive for one night however it was a long weekend and we had made a late decision to travel to the Barossa with interstate guests.

Homely comfortable cottage(I of 2) with hearty breakfast ingredients in fridge. We had booked four nights and the food was replenished half way through our stay. There were some little touches which were appreciated such as a bottle of wine and a decanter of port. There was a pleasant veranda to sit and enjoy an evening drink. The website gives you an accurate and detailed description of the accommodation.

We spent two nights in a comfortable and well equipped cottage, in a calm and relaxing setting. Carole provided us with Barossa wine on our arrival, plus all the ingredients for a sumptious breakfast.
Carole and Michael gregarious assistant "Ruby" (Golden retriever) will welcome you with great excitement, which added to the pleasure of our stay.
Highly recommended
