Was hoping for a lovely night away as my husband brought me a hot air ballon ride so I was looking forward to a lovely get away as we had booked the restaurant for dinner. The pictures on the internet look nice but once getting there and looking at the outside of the building it was looking very dated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We drove down to our accommodation and it was like stepping back in time and not in a good way. Once stepping inside I had stepped back in time the room was not pleasant at all very dated and all the heavy wood and then stepping in the bathroom that’s another area. The decor might appeal to the very old generation but with the age of people travelling around the Barossa I don’t think it’s there taste at all. I really wished I had spent more money and got nicer accommodation elsewhere lesson learnt. I think this place needs a good refurb to bring it up to the 2021st …
Great value for money accomm. Maybe not the Ritz but the price is more than reasonable. Clean and tidy. All staff really friendly. Restaurant meal was outstanding. Challenge you to find a better steak.
We have stayed here before. This time used the SA Govt. tourism voucher. Good value accommodation, comfortable bed good amenities. Continental breakfast included and other discounts on offer. Very friendly helpful staff. Recommend and we will be back here again for sure. Close to everything and the gardens are very nice too.
We arrived at Lyndoch Hill to finds a tired, 1960s country motel - not what we were expecting from the website. That said, the rooms were spacious and quiet, the bed comfortable and the bathroom functional. Although set in what must have been a spectacular rose garden, lack of water and upkeep has taken its toll. Overall, once we settled in we enjoyed visiting the Barossa using this motel as a comfortable base. Hopefully it will have had a facelift by the time was visit again.
We arrived there...stayed for 20 minutes then left! When we drove up, the initial approach seemed nice. We pulled in front of reception. The lady was very nice and helpful. As we approached our room then we started to worry. Dull grey exteriors of the doors to the rooms, with an unkempt feel. It felt like a hostel! We opened the door to be greeted by a musty toilet smell. The room was like stepping back in to the early 80’s.. it wasn’t that clean and the shabby dated decor and tired cupboards didn’t help. And lots of flies buzzing around wasn’t good either! The bathroom was in desperate need of updating. The furniture was so dated too. We just didn’t want to stay to have our weekend ruined so we left. This is not what we expected in the Barossa Valley which is a premier location of South Australia. Very sad... To the owners - spend some money! Update the rooms to meet the standards tourists expect in the 21st century. It’s not fair on your guests to be greeted by such dated and shabby accommodation. So disappointed.…
