Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Last minute booking for 16 people for lunch was no trouble for the staff. We were located in a nice large dining room that was warm and inviting. Meals were great, reasonably priced and great local wine options. Well worth the visit and highly recommended.

Great meal choice.
Very courteous and prompt service
Every detail seemed of meticulous attention.
Perfect entry and exit point to and from the Clare Valley
Apart from our excellent dining experience, one would imagine that the associated motel accommodation facilities are equally superb.
Definitely worthy of an excellent review

Meals were fantastic and large serves. Reasonable wait from order time to receiving food but this was well worth the wait.
2 Coeliacs with us. Huge selection for them, dedicated fryer, freshly crumbed GF schnitzels.

I spent a couple of days here over the weekend. Great value for money, very clean and comfy rooms inside the pub. Quiet even when there's a function on. Continental breakfast in each room was great. The staff were absolutely lovely.
I'd love to see a salad or a bit better menu but other than that you can't go past staying here whilst in the Clare Valley.

We stopped in for a counter lunch on our way through Auburn. It's a great little country hotel with a nice country feel. Counter meals were very good and the bar person was friendly and helpful. A very good selection of wines at reasonable prices.
Well worth a sto on a long drive.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Room was small but cosy and comfortable. Dinner was superb (oysters followed by lamb shanks/kangaroo steak) . Food was great and Ally and Mick's warm hospitality was exceptional. One thing is for sure- we will be back

The rooms are adjacent to the hotel and are on keeping with the age of the campus. Gardens lovely and there is a grassed area at the rear which is nice to chill out on. The room isn’t large and certainly doesn’t have all the mod cons but isn’t trying to be that way either.

Dropped in on Sunday night after booking one hour before on the way back from the Flinders Ranges. The food was beautiful - way better than we expected in a pub. It's not pub food - it's restaurant food! And the staff are super friendly - really good old fashioned country hospitality.

Lovely staff, happy to accommodate a fairly late lunch when we arrived just before 2. Beautifully cooked seafood in a cosy pub setting. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here but struggling to write more to make up 200 characters for this review.

spent two nights while exploring the Clare Valley. It is well located near the Riesling Trail but it is 25 kilometres from Clare where most of the action is. It is an old style hotel. Friendly staff and very good dinner. Excellent selection of local wines. The room we chose is the most expensive but only $155 a night. It is best described as quaint.A big old style bed which was not comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. A fire heater was nice. Big bathroom but again old fashioned.
The price included a breakfast which comprised some cereal, boring bread, spreads and fruit juice all left in the room for you to prepare. Overall it was good for a country pub. The food and wine were better than the bed and breakfast. Good to try but I wouldn't rush back.
