We stayed here almost 12 months ago to this day and had an unfortunate run of events with the rooms and we were very hesitant to return.

We stayed again last night and were blown away with the improvement of the room quality. I’m not sure if the owners were only new at the time last year but they have obviously made some very positive changes in the 12 months since our last visit. The rooms are very spacious and modern with modern features.

Realistically we come to Yeppoon to go to the beach and not spend time in our room but it’s always a nice touch to come home to a nice room.

Would recommend staying here for couples or young families. For us, it was a great end to a few days on Keppel Island which is also a must do!

The kids loved the room and the pool. The room was clean and serviced everyday which was great.
The Receptionist, Olivia was wonderfully friendly and made it feel like a home stay, she was excellent with the kids, thank you.
We had a ground floor room which meant we had table and chairs outside our room for drinks and food and overlooked the pool.

We booked this hotel on our way back from Airlie Beach and wanted to break up our road trip back to Brisbane.
It was an unexpected find!
We booked a one bedroom apartment but were surprised that it had another queen bed in it.
As soon as we opened our door we had a view of the ocean and the breeze hit us in the face (a good thing) also had a view of the pool.
Room was big and airy.
The beach was across the road and we walked up and down it during the day. It was a great swimming beach.
Even though we stayed here one night we will be back. We loved the feeling so much that we are thinking of buying one of the units here for a permanent vacation home.
Truely a place to come and relax under the sun!

Booked 6 nights purely because of proximity to the marina and the hotel has boat parking. When we arrived there was a car in the boat parking and reception said they would find out who it was and get them to move it. No one bothered so we had to park the boat on the street. When we got to our room (room 36) the air conditioning in the main bedroom wasn’t working. So we asked reception to get someone to look at it. No one was there so we had to wait the next day. Again no one was able to look at it so waited the next day to be told there’s nothing they could do about it. We were told we would receive a discount because we booked a 2 bedroom and could only use 1 bedroom. We had to move the bed from the main room into the lounge room. The room was too hot as it got the full sun in the afternoon. When we checked out we asked about the discount and they said the manager wasn’t there so would email us. We had to email them about a week later when we heard no response from them. Finally got told we would receive $100 discount total! This is not good enough! They told us the room rate we booked was apparently discounted so wouldn’t be giving anymore. We didn’t receive a discounted room rate because we were only going to receive a 1 bedroom because apparently they didn’t know the air con was broken. Had we been told when we booked we would only have a 1 bedroom we would not have booked this place at all. Very poor management skills! Don’t waste your time staying here!

We arrived at Rosslyn thinking it would be a lovely place to spend a couple of nights on our way to Airlie Beach. We booked a studio apartment but when we got there the room was a family room with two singles and extra roll away beds and a double bed. The decor was extremely dated, and the air conditioner was so loud you couldn’t sleep when it was on. I had to get new glassware when the wine glass in the cupboard was cracked. When I spoke to the front office about the state of it all they said that the owners of the unit were responsible for keeping it maintained and updated. Obviously there are owners getting money for the unit being let while not bothering to keep up with price expectations. This was of barely 3 star motel quality rather than “resort”. Avoid room 8 at all costs. Maybe then the “owners” may update it.

My stay was spoiled by a couch in the lounge that smelt of like the sour odour of a perspiring man had slept there for many , many nights . Even the cushions on the lounge was so malodourous, I put them outside . It had a smaller t.v than I would have liked. To watch T.v I had to put a spare blanket on the lounge , to try to minimise the stale permeating odour. I stayed in a back cabin -nice enough, two bedroom, pleasant outside area. It wasn't a cheap room, so I expected a higher standard. Even for public health regulations, surely lounges should be cleaned -or replaced regularly in these facilities. I reported it and said I would allow three weeks, before I put up a review, if they sent me a receipt for cleaning, or replacing lounge (it was quite saggy , and overdue for replacement). That was six weeks ago. I have had no response from management. Hence, I am warning future visitors. I have never experienced anything like this , before or since

Two of us stayed the night in Room 19 on the evening of Saturday 18 December.
I knew it was peak season and we needed to stay somewhere at the coast after a night out with friends. We had pre-booked the room. However, for the cost of $185, this was an absolute disaster. The room smelt stale and it was literally just one room with two beds, the kitchen on one side of the queen bed and the dining table on the other side of the bed which was very weird. There was some sort of air conditioning unit, balanced on two occasional tables with a vent to the outside of the unit, via a hole cut in the wooden louvre which was a replacement for the glass louvre. The bathroom was simply shabby, so tired and with black mildew or whatever it was, in cracks in the grouting and above the shower. But the worst thing in all of this is the fact that here we were, at the beach, looking out through the louvres to the sea and there was not an outside area of any sort attached to the room, so nowhere at all to sit out. It was just one large room with glass louvres (except for the wooden one which housed the vent for the air conditioner) to look out at the sea. It was certainly not cheap, at $185 for one night and it was certainly not worth that amount of money, peak season or no peak season. Thank goodness we were only there for one night as there is no way we, or anyone could have enjoyed any extended stay there.

We stayed 1 night in room 30. Lady on phone didn't tell us we would be walking up to 3rd level, NO LIFTS, beware of this, Room small, for what it was and so much stuff, furniture, shelving, nik naks, etc so clutted. Take half the stuff out and it would make the room so much bigger. The smell of garlic and other smells wafted thru from the restaurant below. NO BALCONY. The view from room 30, luckily the rooftop restaurant / cafe / nightclub wasn't open as this room looks directly down onto it. This is what the view is, oh yes, if you look up you will see the lovely blue sea, but this view is spoilt by this big concrete slab right in front of the room. The chairs have been blown over by the wind I presume or maybe that's how they store them, a mess to look at, you get no choice. The restaurant below this was open, for both lunch and dinner, and the noise from that on a Sunday night is bad, live music seemed to stop around 9.30pm, but people still talking loud till at least 10pm, you can hear every word the staff are saying whilst they are cleaning up, they obviously don't realise noise travels. Would hate to stay there on a Saturday night, would be even later and the live band, well say no more. If your looking for a quiet place to stay, this is NOT it.
For the price paid for this so called resort, it's not worth it. There are plenty of others to choose from nearby.

Sunny, bright & clean. White tile shower. Well-appointed room with sea view. Stocked with cooking and kitchen supplies. Fresh decor bed linens. Lots of open space and modern sofa to relax.
Next door - Beaches Restaurant serves delicious food and wine— blend of contemporary and Asian fusion cuisine.
Perfect for couples.

We have stayed at RBR every year for the last 8 years on our return from FNQ. We love the location and views, the size of the rooms and the staff are always very friendly. We will stay again and continue to enjoy what the area has to offer for golf and fishing.
