We stayed one Sunday night traveling South from Mackay. Office not open for checkin 2.00PM or checkout 8:00AM, keys left in an envelope outside office door and droped in to shute next morning. uite a large room with a kitchenette and comfortable bed. Not very clean though, the floor was quite visibly dirty and felt it and a bit wet paper towel proved it, also windows were dirty and spoiled a quite nice veiw of the ocean across the road. If you put the address in your GPS, make sure you include the "Vin E" in the street address or you will never find it. There is a nice restaurant and bar on the premisis and they have a vice BBQ on Sunday nights.
Booked at the last minute and very happy we did. The room was very nice with a lovely quiet ceiling fan. Lovely cool breeze even on the lower level. The restaurant is a separate business but they let us take our meal back to the room to enjoy and the seafood we ordered was delicious and cooked absolutely perfectly. Nice staff.
The view from the balcony was beautiful. The two bedroom apartment we stayed in was large, the beds and sofas were comfortable. The pool looked nice. Although there was a wedding on it didn’t disturb us at all. On the downside the apartment was dated and generally a bit tatty. No aircon in bedrooms. Not up to standard really..probs would have been 4 star accommodation 20 years ago. But now just ok. I wouldnt say dont stay here as the location is great for a quiet beach break but perhaps need to check on room first...my understanding is some are renovated some not. The food and wine in Beaches restaurant was well below par for the price and woudnt eat there again. Service from the waitresses was good though.
We stayed at the resort a little over a week ago. We drove 9 hours to get there and were to be up the next morning at 5am to catch the boat to the Keppel Group of islands. The resort held a wedding that night right next to our bedroom window. We had to put up with hours of extremely loud live band music, with drunken screaming, yelling and singing until almost 2am. The whole complex was filled with drunken guests some of whom proceeded to then play more music in their rooms until 3am and then we endured listening to people throwing up outside our door at 4am. We complained about the noise at 11pm and 12pm and nothing was done. We were not told this event would be occurring, we were not given a refund or even a proper apology. It was absolutely disgraceful service. DO NOT stay at this resort if you need a good night’s sleep and need to catch an early boat to the islands. So disappointing. We regularly visit this area and will not be returning to this resort again.
Stopped overnight in this spot a little away from Yeppoon, if the roadworks were not on it would have been a short drive, should be great when completed. Our room was of a very jigh standard, comfy bed, good linen & everything to make the stay enjoyable. The yacht club is a short walk away, however no convenience store nearby so stock up before hand. We had not been to Yeppoon in over 30 years, great surpise, enjoyed our stop over.
