Arriving late in the afternoon and getting our key from the pleasant receptionist our first thoughts were that the whole hotel looked shabby and unloved. We negotiated the concrete pillars to park in the outdoor car park. Many obviously hadn’t successfully avoided the pillars! A very uninviting, unloved dirty pool was noted.
Having only booked that morning we thought we were lucky to have found a room for three nights so were accepting, although disappointed, when we saw our room. Every room has an ocean view and a small balcony and the hotel itself is in a prime position close to the beach, shops and eateries. The rooms are privately owned and it seems in this hotel it is a lucky dip if you get a renovated room or a dated problematic room. Although sheets were clean our room was old and certainly not renovated. It had a washing machine, no dryer, which was fine but as I discovered after washing no drying rack either. I put a load of washing on and had a shower in the very small area. The light was so feeble we had to put the heat light on to see, which meant you “cooked”. After my shower I noticed the whole floor had water on it, to this day I am not sure whether from the washing machine or shower as there was no cubicle, just an area with a shower curtain. As the tiles were like ice when wet we used every towel we could find, and our beach towels, to ensure we had a safe path and didn’t slip. Reception was closed. In the morning I spoke to a receptionist and her reply was what can we do! It was suggested the cleaners just mopped the room but I suggested we move rooms! I wasn’t game to try the shower again! To the manager’s credit we were moved to a much nicer room, with shower cubicle and thoughtful touches for the next two nights.
The hotel advertises free wifi but on asking for a password was told it only worked in the foyer. Some guests were very upset as they felt it was false advertising.
I certainly wouldn’t stay here again although we were told management had changed. The hotel isn’t cheap and the first room we were given was sub standard.
The cleaners were all lovely.

We have just returned from Yepoon staying at this Hotel with a group of friends, and yes it is an older style hotel.
BUT!!! The management are fantastic people who go out of their way to try to meet your every need. My husband had a birthday whilst we were away, we supplied the cake they supplied the Champagne, they also ran tours each day for the group who were part of a Qld Rail holiday.
As for the room, on the 6th floor, ours had been refurbished with a modern kitchen and bathroom, our balcony had absolute waterfront views, SO! in conclusion it is not 5star, but if you want Location, Location, Location, at a budget price this is it!

$183 night for a very run down property.
Staff uninterested in helping, didn’t know if the pool was heated or not and as my room wasn’t ready I asked if I could go sit by the pool whilst waiting. I was told it was on the first floor. When I got up there, you could only access it with a key, which she didn’t give me!
Rooms are obviously time share/privately owned.
I stayed in 702 which was a hotel style room, renovated to add a kitchen bench so studio prices could be charged.
Did have table and chairs & 2 lounge chairs facing the bed, poor placement of furniture & TV.
The property had nothing to offer and when I did go to the pool area there were only chairs to sit on and all balconies overlooked same, so no privacy.
I enjoyed being able to sit on the balcony & the view.
I thought location was good but it is on a noisy roundabout so do not except a sleep in, street sweeper starts at 4:45 and traffic not long after.
Way over priced!

Arrived with 26+ travelers at 9pm to find the foyer in darkness, the lift was a problem. The room was basic, bathroom was alright if you didn't have a shower, water didn't drain efficiently. We were told the Restaurant/kitchen was under Renovations, (no visual work in Kitchen) So the Motel's bus drove us to a diner for our breakfast each day. The food was very good here. The other lift hasn't been in action for 12mths. ("Waiting on a part"). The small fridge in our room didn't freeze water in my drink bottles. Filled ice tray took 24hrs to freeze! Dinners were at the local pub. We had the Seniors meals to choose from.

We booked online through Booking.com early on the afternoon of the day we were staying at Bayview towers. The online booking went ahead no problem there was one room left so secured it and got confirmation back from booking.com and screenshotted the confirmation to show the premises on arrival. We always book with Booking.com and never had a problem. On arrival at the premises the wife went to the front counter to check in and was greeted by an older man who asked how he could help. The wife saud we are checking in His reply was blunt and said no your not! He said also said i dont have a room for you ! The wife said we have a confirmation and showed him the screenshot of the confirmation to which he replied Your right but i dont have a room for you! He said further I have a room but for someone else they booked 10 minutes ago. He looked on the computer and he said i dont have your booking here. You have to contact Booking.com The wife said Can i have the number of booking.com? He said he didnt have it Wife said What !
He reluctantly found the number of Booking.com He mentioned he didnt like Booking.com Wife said why do you put your property with booking.com? He said they give a cheaper price. Dont like them. Got in touch eventualky to booking.com who tried to talk to this man but to no avail. Booking.com didnt get back to us as well and we had to find alternative accomadation for the night. By this time it was quite late as well. We got accomadation but had to request a refund on the Bayview towers accomadation. This man who i heard him say on the was the owner is rude and unhelpful You may not have a problem with him but if you do have a problem he could leave you high and dry!!

On arrival, the outside of the building and reception looked very unkept. The receptionist was pleasant but if she knew the condition of the room, she would be embarrassed to issue the keys.
Although the room was adequately cleaned, the room was old, tired and the bathroom was in desperate need of an upgrade.
There were no bedside tables, no powerpoints near the bed, one powerpoint was detached from the wall, no where to sit other than on the bed. The crockery and cutlery were a mish mash of different types. The outdoor setting did not match. It was advertised as having Foxtel, but there wasn't any.
The advertisement about this property gives a very different picture to what it is really like.
Room 307, terrible.
I would definitely not recommend this property
The only positive is the location.

Bayview tower

Sporting all the charm of the flat rented by Nanas latest chain smoking, gambling addicted, boyfriend, Bayview tower is a step back in time and socio economic status. This recently renovated wort of a hotel gives off a hint of 1980s budget holiday nostalgia. With its rust stained walls and liberal use of low cost flooring and cladding, you can almost smell dad smoking at the dinner table as you enter the patchily painted unit through the creaking front door.

All expense has been spared in the renovations that appear to have been conducted without the assistance or oversight of qualified trades people or any form or measurement. Rough doesn’t come close to describing the decore that was clearly constructed by the lowest bidder. In some cases the protective film on the cupboard doors had not been removed.

In a truly confounding feat of modern construction, the shower taps turn in opposite directions. Im pretty confident you could create that result again if you were trying to.

The amenity items are brought to you by the cheapest available collection with the shampoo echoing the floral scents of heavily contaminated 1970s style perfumes. The type that made Aunty made too sickly smelling to hug.

It’s a great central location and the bed was quite comfortable. The views are great. It’s fine for 1 night. Would be disappointing for a long stay.

180 degrees uninterrupted views of the beach but that's pretty much the best of it. Had a lovely receptionist at check in who was able to store our bags and we were even unexpectedly granted an early check in, great service. Regrettably the check out experience with another receptionist was very different "Just leave the keys on the counter she said" without looking up. No thank you, no nothing, what a shame! Shower sprays water in random directions, floors were dirty and clearly an old run down hotel. Not much value and parking you can clearly foresee being a challenge.

Our family stayed in room 708, a family unit for a couple of nights. Sadly the room was really a one bed apartment where two single beds are located in the bedroom and the queen bed placed in what would usually be the living room.

The furniture was mismatched and looked like it was from the 80s. There was a 2 seater lounge at the foot of the bed and other than a small table with two chairs, that was the extent of the living furniture to be used by a family. The bathroom had a shower over a bathtub which was difficult for a child to step into as the bath was high. The sliding door to the balcony could not be opened by any of us other than my husband as it was extremely difficult to slide open. The light in the kids room did not work. The tv remote did not work and only channel 7 seemed to work.

On the plus side the location was handy to eating options and the beach. There was an on-site coin operated laundry.

The price we paid per night is equivalent to a stay in a 5 star self-contained apartment in coolangatta but was far from that quality.

Overall I would not stay here again.

After booking the Bayview Towers we were hoping it would live up to the expectations they created when booking. Sadly it was horrible.

Positives

Bed was comfortable.
View was very good.
Fridge size was generous.

Negatives

Lack of car parking.
Ants, ants, ants and more ants in the kitchenette, bathroom, around the walls and on bedside table.
Mould on the ceiling.
Overall just felt dirty.
Overpriced for what it is.

If only it couldn’t get worse well sadly it does. Upon getting lectured upon checking that we would be responsible for a call out fee of if we set off an fire alarm and 11.30pm the building had to be evacuated because an alarm was triggered. There was a fire warden apparently however, there was no visibility of him, there were ‘residents’ who did not evacuate and stood on balconies giving the guests that did a bit of cheek. Then to top it off, a ‘resident’ proudly came up to some of us an hour after the alarm had gone off (now firebrigade as yet) and told us he set it off, he was cooking a steak and went to bed, he also set it off last month which we all said that must be an expensive steak (note call out fee lecture) where he then further proudly boasted he didn’t pay it last month and wasn’t going to this month either.
Upon check out staff absolved themselves of all responsibility saying they did nit manage that resident (well whatever the arrangement I is irrelevant to guests!!)
Overall, needs to be knocked down, new management and less lecturing!!!
