Detailed Reviews
We found the delux shacks very comfortable and very central to all the beaches and walks. the shacks were clean and well stocked. We were a bit surprised that our shack was not available until after 2:30pm and when we wanted to use our BBQ on the first night we found the gas bottle empty. Luckily we located a caretaker. There were a lot of rules around noise, parking and animals which we thought was a good thing. However a neighbour two doors down continued to play very loud music while we were trying to enjoy our quiet outlook on our back deck. We requested that he turn down the music but he became aggressive. The same couple parked their vehicle behind their shack when it clearly states that you must park in designated parking. They also had a dog which concerned us with barking and also that animals are permitted in the shacks. We would be reluctant to return or to recommend Allure as it appears the rules and fines do not apply and we were not able to have a peaceful, quiet time that we were hoping for.

We booked our stay through Airbnb. Our room was basic but clean and tidy with fresh linen and towels. There was no coffee or tea in the room and breakfast was not included unlike some other Airbnb’s we have stayed at.
You can also book these rooms directly through Allure Resort so you would need to clarify with them what they offer.
Issue 1 - Unfortunately on our first afternoon there were two groups of people using the resort pool that clearly weren’t staying at the resort. This was pretty disappointing and it doesn’t seem that this space / area is very well supervised. One group was very quiet however the other group were being loud and obnoxious. They were smoking and drinking in the pool area / playground area and didn’t even have swimming stuff with them. They just swam in their clothes. They were jumping in and out of the pool, shouting and swearing. We walked past the pool area to go to dinner and they were still in there 3 hours later. I am unsure whether they worked at the resort, whether they worked close by or whether they were just friends of people that worked there. Luckily we were an adult couple but I would have been very upset and disappointed if I had booked this accommodation with children.
Issue 2 - Yes there is a cafe onsite however it is really small and has a very limited range of options. If you are planning on staying at Allure Resort we would recommend that you bring your car or your own groceries for your stay. There was a BBQ on the deck of the room and a small microwave. The room had a decent sized fridge. We would recommend bringing your so you that you drive to other cafes / restaurants / shops in the area. There is one restaurant that is within walking distance and this is the Stradbroke Hotel. It’s about a 10-15 min walk uphill. Buses stop running around 6:30pm so getting dinner was a bit tricky as the road is poorly lit for the walk home.

Hi Traveller! Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, as you suspect, we don't have a view of privately run Airbnb accommodation so cannot speak for their appointments. Please call us direct so we can make your experience amazing from start to finish! However, we absolutely take your concern regarding the behaviour of other guests very seriously and your encounter was not acceptable. We are a small family operation and take pride in ensuring that all guests have the enjoyment of the Resort facilities at any time. We do hope to see you next time you are on Straddie!

Delux beach shack for 2 nights. True to name, this was a beach ‘shack’ but ‘delux’ is a bit misleading, Friendly staff, nice pool area, beach walking distance and short drive to point lookout and other island adventure spots. A little overpriced at $250 per night and a little run down. Bathroom was clean, linen was clean, bed was comfortable. Kitchen is fully equiped for a longer stay and a Weber BBQ on the back deck. Our toilet was in need of repair as kept leaking, we didn’t take this up with management as we just turned off the the tap in-between use. A light globe or 2 were out, but created a cosy ambiance of a night time. The Foxtel wasn’t working in our room and there is no room wifi. With a couple of stormy nights, we instead snuggled into bed with my laptop to watch a movie using our mobile hotspot. We had a large green tree frog intruder on his way to visit us upstairs in bed the first night even though we hadn’t left any doors open. Lucky my ‘Bear Grylls’ husband saved the day and was able to gently capture and return the little guy safely back outside. This is really just a cabin style accom. to rest your head for the night, hence why I think the price should be lower. The island itself kept us busy with adventure walks and swimming at brown lake and blue lake. Overall a great time, but as locals from Brisbane, we would opt for a day trip to the island as the overnight stay wasn’t worth the cost. If unable to do a day trip, I suggest camping would be more cost effective.

We loved our stay at this resort so much! The beach shack we stayed is a one-bedroom loft style fully self-contained unit that includes all basic cooking utensil you need. There is a cafe + mini convenience store combined onsite which is very convenient if you don't want to cook and have a great pizza / fish & chips and watch movies all night on foxtel! There is also a heated pool, gym and little playground for the kids, which is really handy during rainy days when you can't head out to the beach.
The location of the resort is very close to the Point Lookout Gorge walk, which is a must see/do when you're there. The entrance to the beach is only across the road from the resort, which you can have a dip in the ocean whenever you want.
The staff and management team onsite are so friendly and down to earth which have made a big difference to our stay. Well done Allure team, thank you for your service, we will return soon !

We are two families stayed here for 6 nights. Initially when we had booked, the management had promised to clean the shack atleast once given the minimum stay was 7 days. And that she will try to accomodate us for an early check in. None of the promises kept. In addition to that, we are now charged $100 for cleaning services despite us cleaning (vacuuming) every day. I have traveled a lot and stayed in many places in Australia, this is by far the poorest service I have received. And she kept arguing with us when we asked for fresh towels.
I regret staying here.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We absolutely remember you staying at Christmas and we agree that there were a number of details that meant a negative experience for all involved. Being brand new managers we are always willing to take on feedback, however, you know yourself that the way you have written this review is less than truthful in many aspects. We won't be noting the facts of your stay - we have already raised these issues with you in a private email. We will say that we tried to go above and beyond (even after the less than honest behaviour we encountered) to satisfy your requirements here but it was evident quite quickly that our resort was not for you. We would encourage you to seek out hotel-style accommodation that provides a different service offering to meet your specific requirements. We really are sorry that your holiday here was not what you hoped and wish you well on your journey to finding your perfect accommodation.

Our little shack was very comfortable with full kitchen facilities, a mezzanine bedroom and small but adequate bathroom. There was a lovely little private deck with a Weber BBQ backing onto the National Park where kangaroos, kookaburras and even a big Goanna came to visit. The beach was just across the road, the Bowls Club next door and the resort has a small cafe attached so no need to go far for a coffee. The North Gorge walk and Oceanic Gelato is just a few minutes drive away. The perfect spot!

Completely separate/detached studio style room. Fully functional kitchen, bathroom, foxtel, washing machine, dishwasher and air conditioning. Private deck to watch the koalas, kangaroos, Wallabies, Kookuburras, Cerlews etc. friendly staff, nice pool, close walk to excellent Mexican Cantina, the pub, a chicken and beer place and the bowls club. Beach is about 200m away. It's simple - not luxury, but clean and functional. This is not the place to go if you are after 24/7 room service, but if you want privacy and peace and quiet.

We checked in and were given accommodation with the bedroom outside the main accommodation. This meant we had to walk across an unfenced deck (1m off the ground) at night if we wanted to use the bathroom. We asked to be moved so that we could have a bathroom with our bedroom. This was done and we were advised that we could only stay 4 nights and not the 5 nights that we had booked for. There was no refund for the lost night. Instead we were told we had been upgraded.
What a load of rubbish. At no point were we told that the bathroom and bedroom would be in totally separate buildings.
On top of that booking.com charged us a $35.98 international transaction fee. Never had that before.
No longer using booking.com and will never go back to Allure. Was overpriced and tired. Lovely settling but the accommodation set up was very disappointing to say the least.
Booking.com told us to take it up with Allure. Allure told us to take the matter up with booking.com. No one is interested in our feedback.

Response from Allure Team, Guest Services / Front Office at Allure Stradbroke Resort
Responded 18 Feb 2021
Hi Janet, Sorry your stay wasn't what you had hoped. We have just taken over the management here and have spent the last couple of months looking at feedback to see where we can improve. We are a small family operation and are hands on and involved in our guests' time spent here. The architectural design makes the Villa set up a little different than standard accommodation - we agree! We do try and let all new guests know the challenges that may be found - up front, when you book! I can't speak for Booking.Com or comment on your actual experience here but I do know we can always manage a guest experience better from here so if you ever thought you might give us another try - please call us direct and we will do our very best to look after you. Either way, your feedback is valuable.

Positive point - the pool was lovely and clean and a good size.
Unfortunately the pics that management have put on show, as stated are easily 10 years old or more. The Shack buildings are in need of a good paint. The lounge in our shack was the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on.!
The size was ok for two people, I didn't like the fact that the bedroom was on a mezzanine floor and the bathroom on the ground floor. My fault for not researching more info.

Our original unit we were assigned had some problems with a musty smell and stained dining furniture.
Hayley the manager was very understanding and we moved to a unit next door with immaculate facilities and presentation.
Hayley advised she took over management in November 2020 and is working to rectify any problems.
The resort is well located opposite Home Beach and near beautiful Cylinder Beach which is patrolled.

Hi Maria,
We are located approx 2km from the north gorge walk. There is also a cafe located directly in front of the resort.
The island also has a bus service which would take you from outside the resort up to the gorge area. The busses run in conjunction with the passenger ferries and so pass through Point Lookout every hour.
If you have any further questions please feel free to call us on 07 3415 0000.
Kind Regards
