A lovely place to stay. I had a flying visit up to Redcliffe for my mum’s 90th so I only had 2 nights here. It was perfect for a short stay, but I’m sure even better if you had more time.

The 1 bedroom unit was lovely and clean. It was on the northern side of the building and had sea and suburban views. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and gaze out over the pine trees to Moreton Bay.

I was there in summer and so was worried about the heat. I needn’t have as it wasn’t too warm, but if it had been, there was an air conditioner in the living room and also one in the bedroom. The window in the bedroom opened - joy of joys - plus there was a small balcony door as well. Best of all, there was no silly quilt on the bed, just a crisp set of sheets with a fleece blanket if needed. No tossing and turning trying to cool down with overheating quilts!

The kitchen was well equipped with a full size oven and hot plates if you wanted to cook Christmas lunch, or a microwave more suited to my kind of holiday cooking.

The apartments are only a few metres from great cafes and the RSL for drinks and meals is just behind. Across the road is the beach. There’s a children’s playground there too.

The big question - would I stay here again? Yes please. The sooner, the better.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were immediately impressed with the size and presentation of the apartment. Our one bedroom apartment was very tastefully decorated, light and airy, and spotlessly clean. We had a small balcony that if you leaned over you could see the ocean, otherwise your view is of the wall of the RSL opposite. But that was okay as we could walk straight across the road to see a view of the ocean. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was small but the shower had good pressure and was hot. We had a laundry and used the dryer - it was struggling and is probably due to be replaced. The kitchen was well equipped with full fridge, plenty of crockery, utensils, and an insinkerater for food scraps.

We didn't have time to check out the amenities on offer such as the gym so can't comment on that.

The location of these apartments can't be faulted. We were walking distance to the Redcliffe Markets (pretty much at the front door), restaurants, shops, Bee Gees Way, Redcliffe pier, Settlement Cove swimming pool etc etc.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would happily stay here again.

Outstanding location - walking distance to a huge amount of stores, cafes, restaurants, beach, jetty, lagoon. We did not need to use the car.
The view from ocean view rooms is beautiful and you wake up to the sun shining over the ocean. Magic.
All the staff we interacted with were happy, friendly and helpful.
There are a number of permanent residents in the building who also like a chat.
Undercover secure parking and our room provided two car spaces.
Opposite a great kids playground and area to sit and watch the waves. We had an enjoyable time here, for the location I felt very affordable and I'd recommend for families.

We booked an ocean front room hoping we’d have some open, reasonably sweeping views (like many taken by other reviewers).

However our first floor room (the same price as those on higher floors) has a view very much impinged upon by surrounding roofs, exhaust fans, etc. There is an excellent view of the back wall of the RSL!

It’s disappointing and not worth the extra money paid. It’s our second visit here but will be our last I’m afraid.

I would advise the operators of these apartments to offer these lower rooms at a discount, providing people a transparent option to choose these rooms, or higher placed ones. I felt somewhat deceived, opting and paying for one thing but receiving something quite a lot less appealing.

Pros - location! Brilliant Spot, right across the road from the beach and close to shops and restaurants.
Cons - the room itself. Definitely not clean. Dusty all over, hand prints on the glass door, black mould, calcium build up and soap scum on the tiles, grout and door edges in the ensuite shower. Foul smell coming from the ensuite drain, no actual blankets on the bed in the master bedroom, just a thin comforter. No spare blankets in the cupboards. For a non smoking establishment, there was a lot of evidence of smoking in the unit. Burn holes in the carpet, in the single bed blanket, and a half smoked cigarette laying near the sliding door on the balcony. Ash on the door frame on the side balcony off the 2nd bedroom. Multiple powerpoints and lights dont work, or cut in and out. No light in the master bedroom, had to rely on the dim bedside lamps. Cut my finger reaching for my alarm yesterday morning, on peeling laminate on the side of the dresser. And that bed. I have never slept on anything more uncomfortable than that master bed. When you pay $300+ a night, you expect more than a foam mattress. But that's what we got. It's now after 4pm, and my leg is still aching after managing just over 4 hours in that bed last night. I'd have slept on the couch, but that was no more comfortable. To top it all off, there is what looks to be possibly a drink (looks more like vomit to me, but benefit of the doubt I guess) sprayed over the master bedroom door, and the louvre doors and wall for the office.
Outside - broken glass all over the concrete outside the "G" level entrance and car park. No dogs allowed, but plenty of evidence in and around the gardens that they are definitely there. Cannot use the pool or facilities from 7pm to 7am, so putting the kids to bed and going down for a swim is out of the question. Cannot use the balcony after 10pm, so if you're a night owl who like to sit outside, probably not the place for you.
I spoke to reception about my concerns, upon return of keys this morning. The only response i got was "thank you for the feedback". I had already booked a week in April next year for my whole family. I stated to reception that if that was considered clean, I'd be inclined to keep looking elsewhere for accommodation. Again, the response was "ok, thank you for the feedback". They have our money, and couldn't care less what happens now. Photos are attached for reference.

What a spectacular view, an apartment with everything, including laundry facilities, I believe the accommodation certainly goes a long way into the holiday and ours was 110 per cent on point. We had a balcony with the best views ever n 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, we were in the best spot ever. Will definitely return.

This is the second time we have stayed at Proximity Apartments, this time was a little disappointing to be honest.
We requested a 3 bedroom apartment however the 3rd bedroom is an office area with a bifold door opening into the dining area. You are unable to close this off as a bedroom as the door hits the bed side tables.

The unit wasn’t as clean as the first stay, notable hair on the carpet and dirty cutlery in the draw. The lounge room aircon was very mouldy and dripping water onto the carpet. The balcony was very dirty and needs a good clean. Glass sliding doors to the balcony had hand prints all over them from the last guest and drink rings on the outside dinning table. The ensuite toilet wasn’t clean and the ensuite shower needs bleaching with spots of mould on the wall grout. The shower head in the ensuite needs replacing and spirts water from every angle, but the water pressure is great.

Our unit wasn’t ready on check in and we were not offered security parking and told to park in the visitors. At reception at checkin I was asked to sign a form but not asked to pay, thinking we’d pay when our room was ready, to discover the credit card given at the booking time was changed the minute walked away. This is NOT how we wanted to pay.

The internet this time was appalling, unable to connect to any devices until someone came up to log us in, only to find when we got back from dinner we had the same issue and unable to use the building wifi at all. We all used our phone data.

We will not be staying again which is a shame as we loved our first stay over December 2020, proximity has definitely lost their mojo. Such a shame because it’s a beautiful location if you can look past the lack of maintenance and cleaning.

A great apartment stay. Stayed on the 4th floor with a balcony, views of the beach and local PC!
Had breakfast at 63 downstairs and dinner at the local RSL? next door.
Great to have a laundry, didn't come home with a bag filled with washing.
Room was spacious, plenty of places to plug in and charge up the phone and laptop.
Also, best hairdryer too.
Hope to return again someday.

Thank you for having me.

My family [2 adults and 12 year old daughter] stayed for 2 nights on a work/holiday trip January 2022. We were very pleased with the location, the quality of the apartment [206], and the reception staff.
The underground carpark allows vehicles up to 2.1m which meant our SUV was able to be parked [many others in Brisbane are unavailable to height restrictions] and we were allocated 2 parking spots which meant loading and unloading was easier - nice touch.
I particularly liked the friendly [humorous approach with the FAQ's]
Everything we could have needed was available and in good condition.
Redcliffe always provides a good break, but staying in Proximity Waterfront Apartments made it even more pleasurable.
We even received a call advising us that our room was ready 2 hours before normal check in, which was very considerate.
We would have liked to stay longer but work/school commitments didn't allow
We will definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.
