Built in 1901, the Grand Hotel is Mount Morgan’s only brick hotel. It is a fine example of a Double Storey Queenslander Hotel and boasts a tower on top. The public bar is the perfect spot to catch all the LIVE sports on the big screen while having a drink or two. The Grand Hotel is a beautiful old Australian Pub built in a time when Mount Morgan was one of the wealthiest town in Queensland. The Town may not be as wealthy as it once was but you can still get a good feed and a cold beer. Their are daily specials I got a Wagu Rump and sides for $15 and a schooner of Great Northern for $5 can’t beat that.

My husband and I were visiting Mt Morgan for the day and was recommended the Grand Hotel for lunch by a local. We had the special crumbed steak, chips and salad. It was awesome. A very filling meal. The female staff member was awesome, very friendly and helpful.

Had lunch here but as someone who is gluten intolerant there was not much choice and what might pass had to be varied.
The venue is pleasant, the staff are friendly but the food they serve is the food they serve.
Ended up having a T-bone steak: there was no sauce or condiment available to go with it that was gf nor were the chips gf so had an abundance of veggies. The steak itself was good but the meal overall was lacking.

Shocking service and sub standard food. My fillet steak resembled a four quarter chop- thin and lots of gristle! Food for 6 people arrived at all different times- we were the only people in the restaurant but the takeaway pizza orders took precedence. I live in Mount Morgan but will never go back!

We had heard the grand in mount Morgan was doing really good meals so took the drive from rocky to see how good it actually was. We were very surprised with the whole expirence. The restaurant was a little dated but we could not fault the meals! Had a starter of cheese and onion garlic bread which was delicious as well as spring rolls and calamari between 6 of us as we all thought we were starving. The main meals were all huge, I am a big eater and didn't finish my reef and beef although I wanted to as it was all delicious and only $24 and the serving of calamari on it was so generous! my partner had the large lamb and feta pizza which was also huge and super delicious! Someone also ordered the chivken mexican parmy which was thick, and he said it was super juice!,Could not fault their meals! Will be back to try more :)

The Grand Hotel has a very long Queensland history and has been recently renovated. The food is great quality at realistic prices. Have eaten there a few times and each time the quality is very good, large serves and good service. Food and drinks are very much on par or cheaper than the discount pubs in Rocky. Definitely worth dropping in for a meal or coldie!

A nice friendly place to stop over is the Grand Hotel at Mount Morgan. The rooms are upstairs and average size pub rooms, they each have ceiling fans, bar fridge and coffee/tea supplies. Showers & toilets are communal and a short walk from rooms, this is often the case for the older pubs. That's no problem, just keep yourself covered until in shower space!. Rooms were a bit dusty during our stay and in need of a good regular vacuuming, but they are pleasant enough if staying a few nights. The restaurant food was very good and quality for price no complaints at all. Overall the fun atmosphere of this old pub and friendly helpful staff helps ease any issues one may have during their stay.
