Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a really well run, very well maintained motel, huge room with king bed and lounge chairs and even a dining table & chairs. Massive parking bays outside of every room, i struggled to find a tree leaf on the ground, so well maintained. The only negative was the pricey bottle shop across the street but nothing to do with McNevins Motel which was just perfect we thought, a little bit of age is obvious in the rooms but not much, though this adds to the charm of how special it must have been when first built, we will certainly be using this motel again.

In my opinion, this place is old, tired, outdated, dilapidated, worn out, and pathetic. I can’t even explain how bad it is! The front desk staff was rude, unpleasant, nasty, unhelpful, and acted like they were doing me a giant favour allowing me to stay here. They should practise some kind of civility to customers. The housekeeping staff was very nice and diligent. Though that couldn’t make up for the front desk people. The shower water pressure was a trickle, the bed was so uncomfortable and the furnishings were ancient. I will never, ever stay here again!

Apart from a rather (to say the least) curt greeting from the man behind the desk it was not a bad experience. The bed was uncomfortable but the breakfast supervisor really tried to do his best! Dont stay here for pleasure but it does its job.

Spacious room with two armchairs as well as breakfast table and chairs and desk. Good aircon, comfortable bed, hospitality tray, frig, microwave. We slept well but we were aware of noise from passing traffic and light penetration through the louvred blinds and uncovered windows.

I stayed for three nights. The motel was well-appointed, and the room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Fox is available if you want it. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The pool is lovely. The motel is in a convenient location and close to the city centre and the botanical gardens. I highly recommend staying at McNevins Maryborough. An improvement I would suggest would be for the manager to provide a few brochures/pamplets about Maryborough which are probably available free from the Maryborough Visitor Information Centre or the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

Pool was the only good thing about this place. Shower is totally awful. No pressure. Hot, or cold, nothing in between. Mould in Shower. Disgusting. Carpet dirty and fraying. Cups in Cupboard dirty. Would not stay here again.

We stopped in at Maryborough to visit family on our way back home. We stayed at this motel - McNevins and found it excellent. We have two young children 2 1/2 yrs and an 8mth old. The motel was really well presented, very clean and tidy, all the staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome. We ate breakfast both mornings and it was great. The Eggs Benedict were perfectly done and the staff are very accommodating. We ate dinner at the main restaurant 1 night, I had steak which was delicious and my wife had the crispy Salmon - all excellent. If you're in the Maryborough area and need accommodation, Stay at McNevins - Highly recommended.

This motel is well appointed. Clean tidy comfortable. Friendly staff. Quiet. Modern. The restaurant is nothing spectacular but good enough. I particularly liked the breakfast cafe. I recommend staying here. I apparently need to write more

This hotel was adequate for our stay. The rooms were clean and tidy. Nothing special. A mini bar was in the room but when discovering a number of items missing, I reported this to the office. They didn't know the mini bar was there in the room. Be careful. Went to the restaurant and meals were large and enjoyable.

Arrived late but were still able to check in. Rooms had a "Nursing Home" kind of look, but I actually liked the design and layout. There were lots of supplies and we were asked if we wanted or needed anything - which was the first time after 10 other hotels in the last 2 weeks - that anyone had actually asked us! Very comfortable stay.
