Detailed Reviews
We just spent 10 days doing an Outback road trip staying in a different Motel each night. The Cara Motel in Maryborough was by far the best motel we stayed in during that trip. The owner was very friendly and greeted us warmly. The room was immaculately clean and everything was in order. You can tell the owners really cared about their motel and the guest experience because the attention to detail was superb - it was more like staying at a city hotel not a motel. If you are visiting Maryborough, we can highly recommend Cara Motel and will definitely stay there again next time we are passing through.

Very clean, very helpful people. Partly refurbished, lovely little town. Coffee shop nearby. Garden near the office beautiful with a water feature. Nice linen/towels/bath mat. Comfortable bed. Am hoping in the future the bedspreads are updated and I feel internal brick walls would look great painted white to modernise more. A second towel rail above the existing towel rail would also be handy. I would definitely stay again. We were grateful the Airconditioning worked on heat as was a very cold night. Thanks for the shower cap as many don’t offer them any more.

Very clean and comfortable hotel, particularly the bed. Staff were helpful and friendly, and we observed them hard at work cleaning to comply with Covid protocols. Be aware that most food outlets in and around the town shut at about 8.00 p.m. but Woolworths was open to buy food until 9.00p.m.

We stayed in unit 17 in Oct 2030.
I’ll add in the good points first.
Not on a busy road, so no road noise.
Great if needing to stay/visit people in Maryborough hospital as it’s opposite it.
Good bathroom recently renovated.
It has a mini kitchen & sink
Fridge is mini bar type but sizeable freezer space.
Out of 2 other motels we stated at on our country trip (Toowoomba & Mundubbera) this one had 2-USB charging ports.
Good size TV
Plenty of extra pillows & blankets.
The poor rated items.
Your car space roof overhang, (reversed in to unload) then in the morning your car windscreen face east so it’s boiling hot soon after sun up.
The car park bays are too narrow between roof supports, so difficulty to open car doors.
Car park roof overhang way too short.
Bathroom exhaust fan on start up sounds if it’s about to fall out, then when running very noisy.
The unit 17 (window box type) room air-conditioner is very noisy.
Ceiling fan “3 speed” only 2 speeds work.
A tiny allocation of milk for tea/coffee.

Regarding your stay with us 15/10/2020 not 2030 in room #12 not #17 we only have 13 rooms. I want to say the honesty and intensity you have shown in your review is appreciated BUT , not totally justified . Firstly : We do not have to give you 180 mls of milk on arrival or through the your stay , this is a courtesy we offer. Secondly : We do not have to provide you with under cover parking bays(4mts deep x 3mts wide x 3mtshigh )in front of your door this is a convenience of the design of the Motel which I can not alter. The other guests drive in so the front of the car is in the shade at all times and the exhaust fumes do not go into the room. this cover is considered a BONUS. Thirdly : The issue re : the two fans is something we can fix ,and will fix , and we appreciate your bringing it to our attention. Cheers Rita & Imre Owners Cara Motel

A well kept motel with friendly staff, we stayed here before when travelling north and travelling back.
It's not noisey and back from the road, you feel very comfortable in this motel.
It's only a short drive into the main town where there is an RSL and hotels for meals.
The motel is situated maybe 5 minutes from the M1 so it's conveniently positioned when travelling.

We had a 1 night stay at Cara Motel. Access to the carpark and room was easy. The room is a very traditional style of Motel, and was immaculate and quiet. On check in we were given helpful advice on nearby dinner options after a long day on the road. The location is very short drive off the highway so is handy to pull in for a comfortable night's sleep.

I couldn't recommend this little gem of a place highly enough! We returned from a trip to Fraser Island expecting to stay in Hervey Bay but our booking was not honoured at our pre-booked motel so we were left at 8pm trying to find available accomodation for two families. Maryborough was a little further out but were shown real Aussie kindness and hospitality by Imre from the moment we arrived (which was late as we stopped for dinner before heading there). The rooms are comfortable and very clean, and has everything you'll need for a short stay - and if it doesn't Imre and Rita will try to get it for you! What could have turned out to be a nightmare ending to our trip, turned out to be great afterall.

We stayed for three nights in July 2021. A nostalgia and family history visit. We are very well travelled folk, and Cara Motel’s #1 highest TA rating is thoroughly deserved. It is quiet, convenient, spotless, and very well run. The owners have been there for many years, and run a first rate accommodation business. They have the enthusiastic assistance of the guard dog, a very appealing toy poodle, who patrols the car park, on a lead daily. There is no shortage of dining options in the town, and once again we were not disappointed when we were guided by the TA ratings, though our choices were mostly takeaway.

We spent one night here and can really recommend it. Since the units are all easily accessed and the car is parked in front, we found it very convenient. The area is quiet despite being opposite The Maryborough Hospital. Excellent hosts and a very clean room.

We stayed one night and the owner was helpful and gave us fresh milk for our cups of tea...that's not offered in many other places these days!
The beds were very comfortable, and because I'm disabled, it was great to have a 'grab rail' in the shower cubicle. Everything was spotlessly clean and we were able to open the windows for fresh air. It was quiet in the evening and everything worked as it should.
