Our initial contact with Tin Can Bay Motel set the tone for how our stay would play out. We booked direct & Richard (the manager) offered us a discounted rate & a 10.30am checkout time, for doing so. The motel location is about 2kms away from "the strip" & a short 300m walk to the waters edge, so it is very quiet. The grounds are well kept & the pool nicely shaded from the afternoon sun. The entry door has a magnetic door stop, so there was no trying to stop the door from closing whilst bringing our luggage inside. There was also a security screendoor & all room windows opened to allow any breeze to flow through. The room was big & impeccably clean. It had a ceiling fan & air con, which covers everyone's preferred cooling choice. The kitchenette was well appointed, all cutlery, plates, etc. supplied as well as the usual tea, coffee, jug, fridge (with small freezer), a full-size sink, microwave (no hotplate, but you can request an electric frypan from reception). The shower was large, water hot, pressure good & towels super fluffy. The bed was comfortable enough, the pillows & linen fresh. If I had to identify any room for improvement, I'd suggest a handheld shower head, a mattress topper (nothing crazy plush, just something to provide a softness between the sleeper & the mattress), another shelf for toiletries in the bathroom & a full length hanging rack for us ladies who wear midi & maxi length dresses. There were so many positives about our stay at the Tin Can Bay Motel, I've likely forgotten some, but there were 2 specific things that grabbed my attention the most. One, I have never seen in any Hotel, Motel, Serviced Apartment or BnB & that was, a dedicated makeup removal washer (photo attached), the other was the bygone delight of bottled fresh milk.

Great little Motel with very clean, bright rooms and good value for money.
Good facilities, laundry, pool BBQ and grassed area.
Nice touch with the fresh milk in the fridge rather that the longlife stuff other Motel's use.
Will definitely stay here again when next in the area, highly recommend.

Friendly , helpful staff Room was nicer than anticipated. Beds were very comfortable. Very fast wifi. Overall this motel is well run and the staff keen to ensure your comfort. I was particularly impressed with the laundry facility...reasonably priced and laundry detergent freely available.

I loved the Kink size bed with crisp, clean linen. The glassware, crockery and cutlery were very good quality, and I was pleasantly surprised to see there was a very generous container of fresh milk in the fridge. Overall, the unit was very comfortable and stylish.
The pool was clean, a decent size and depth, and the surrounding grounds were well established, creating a tranquil atmosphere to the complex. Richard was easy to talk with, being very welcoming. I would have loved to stay longer.

Spotless and very well maintained motel. From beautifully manicured gardens to impeccably clean rooms. We stayed there for three nights. The towels were replaced and supplies topped up after two days, including pool towels. Plenty of fresh milk was a lovely touch which was also topped up. Guest laundry with two washing machines and two dryers is available for guests and the best of all - the ice making machine with plenty of ice!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Tin Can Bay Motel.

A few days ago we’ve had a stay at the Tin Can Bay motel. First of all it was a really nice stay, we enjoyed it so much. The rooms are nice and clean. We stayed there before and after we made our trip to Fraser Island. The motel owner was really kind to store our luggage in the time that we were to Fraser Island. He answered all our questions and was always there to help.

We loved our stay, and will recommend it to all of our friends and family!

Thanks you Richard!

Regards,
Julia and Agda (the dutchies)

Lovely large rooms, very clean. Loved the mini bottles of fresh milk. There were lots of little touches like the makeup remover cloth, real fresh milk, extra pillows, lovely large towels. Highly recommend. In a very quiet area with no road noise. A little away from town but this did not detract from a wonderful motel to stay in.

We love this motel, it is an older style motel so it has thick brick walls which keeps spill over noise from neighbouring rooms to a very low level and it is always super clean, has a big tv right in front of the bed and bright fresh paintwork.
Richard the proprietor is kind and relaxed making for a very pleasant vibe...
...but most of all it is a doggie paradise...
There are beautiful park like bits of land all around the motel and the beach is down the end of the road. It is extremely welcoming for furry friends and Richard thoughtfully provides extra towels for dogs returning from their beach walks.
Tin Can Bay and its motel are like going back in time to a quiet friendly gently paced world.
