Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. It is a small B&B style place minus the breakfast. We had a room with a kitchenette (microwave and mini fridge) and a porch with a dining area and outdoor gas burners with pans for cooking. Bedding and towels are provided and beach towels upon request. The place was very clean and comfortable. There is no daily room clean if that matters to you. Debbie, the owner, was friendly, chatty and hospitable. She recommended the sunset at Carlo Sand Blow and even dropped us off and explained how to walk back (15 minute walk). Suzanne, the on site manager, was also very nice. The place is for sale, so hopefully the new owners can maintain the friendly charm and quality of the place. There were about 8-10 steps to get to reception, to get to our room and to carry up your luggage. This was not a big issue for us, but may be for others. There was a bakery, pizza place, gas station, small grocery store and Seafood restaurant within a few minutes walking distance. The beach was about a 15-20 minute drive, but we drove as it was way too hot to walk. Parking was free on Rainbow Beach.

I booked over the phone. Debbie asked me to pay $280 Aussie dollars in cash. I only had USD, and she said her daughter travels to America regularly, so she’d be happy to take USD. We checked in and her sister was there, who was so lovely! The rooms were very clean and Debbie paid attention to details, like comfortable bed, coffee, nice showers, etc. Long story short, Debbie had it in the computer that I owed $300 USD. I said I owed $180 USD (=$280 AUD according to XE). Debbie said it was fine to pay $185. I only had exact change for $180, so she said I could pay $200 and she would give me $15 AUD change, but she owed me $25. She continued to argue and raised her voice when I protested, but her sister apologized for her and then gave me $25 AUD. Not sure when Debbie was so upset and tried to charge me more than she said. Maybe she is getting tired of owning/managing a hotel? Either way, I can’t return, unfortunately bc I really liked it. Her sister was fantastic and the place was great, but I can’t go back after being treated poorly. Otherwise, it was great.

An outstanding hotel! We checked into Debbie’s after spending the night on K’Gari island, it was great to check in to the hotel for some luxury! Extremely comfortable bed, clean room and great bathroom. Debbie upgraded our room and even dropped us at the bus station the next day. She went out of her way to help us! Couldn’t recommend enough!

Loved this place! Debbie was very friendly and the rooms were very cute, fresh and clean. Crisp white rooms that were spotless clean and surrounded with beautiful tropical gardens. Highly recommend. Even had a coffee machine! Had a great greenery outdoor alfresco to share with our friends and another fridge to store our food before we heading to Fraser Island. King bed was so comfortable. Slept like a baby. I will be going back. Thanks Debbie.

This is just the most delightful accommodation. Comfy, quiet, spacious with our own dining/cooking area outside with citronella candles Easily walkable to the beach and restaurants. The room was scrupulously clean and Debbie thought of everything. Thanks Debbie for a wonderful stay. Shame it was only 2 nights.

A wonderful place to stay for longer. Very, very clean rooms. We had two new refurbished rooms - aesthetic furniture and interior mainly in white and blue. Full equipped kitchen. Large brand new fridge. Rain forest sprinkler in bathroom. This is 6-star level!

Debbie is amazing. Her place is immaculate and comfortable. She let us park our car in her driveway and put our food in her fridge while we went on a 2 day tour of Fraser Island. We stayed at her place the night before and the night after the trip. She also drove us up to Carlo Sandblow to see the sunset and she picked us up. This was not just a place to stay, Debbie makes it feel like home. Come home to Rainbow Beach!

Debbie was great, she was very accommodating and even helped us out with an extension lead for my camp fridge so I didn’t have to use my 2nd battery. Our room was clean, modern, spacious and comfortable for a family of 6. Check in and out was a breeze and I would definitely stay here again

My girlfriend and I from Ireland stayed at Debbie’s on the 21st October as it was the only place which wasn’t booked up fully after missing our bus due to serious floods in the area. We were made feel at home from the very start after she offered to throw our wet clothes into the dryer and also gave us some milk for a cup of tea. We stayed the night there - the room, bathroom and shower were extremely clean and tidy, everything you needed as a backpacker was in it. We didn’t want to leave, it was amazing!!! The following day as we checked out for our bus the rain came down again so she offered to drive us over to the bus stop when she didn’t have to go out of her way at all. We actually couldn’t believe it!! She was such a lovely host. If we are to come visit rainbow beach in the future we will definitely book in with Debbie again. She really is an angel.

My husband myself and my assistance dog ruby stayed at Debbies Place two weeks ago, and I have to say it is the best place we have ever stayed in in a very long time. I am wheelchair bound and in a power chair and from the driveway to the doorways and all inside, just perfect. Debbie is also such an accomodating lady, very social, lovely to speak with and will make sure your stay is to absolute perfection. We will definately be going to stop there at least once a year or more if we can. So anyone with a family or a pet and thinking of going to rainbow beach, Make Debbie’s Place your first and last stop to stay at you wont regret it. Thank you Debbie from Ian Ruby and myself you made our short but sweet stay very pleasurable.
