My toddler son and I stayed overnight here during Easter 2023. The staff were quite friendly. The room was clean and spacious. However the bed was quite uncomfortable. The mattress was too soft and I could feel the springs when I slept. The pillows were also quite uncomfortable. The room had a bar fridge, a microwave, tea, instant coffee, 2 x mugs & 2 x wine glasses. However a few plates and cutlery would have been handy.

I stayed here for one night on the way through. There was nothing wrong with the hotel, the room was clean and service was good. You do get what you pay for, so don’t expect $400 per night hotel, when you only pay less than 50%. The hotel is really close to the restaurants and shops, it is really convenient. I would recommend the hotel for those looking for a short stay.

Hotel in its early days would have been a great property as it is spacious as are the accommodation unit but it is now very tired and needs money spent on it. Clean enough but needs a lot of repair and updating in public areas and in the rooms. Reception area is not inviting and hallways need painting. For example my room had no towel rail even though the studs were in the wall. The bathroom light did not have a cover just a bulb.

I booked a 3 bedroom suite...this turned out to be a townhouse/villa that is next door to the "resort". It is an old unrenovated townhouse. It was advertised as air conditioned, there was 1 air conditioner downstairs that didn't even cool the downstairs bedroom. There was an old air conditioner upstairs that did not work. There were ceiling fans but when you turned the lights off the fan also turned off. Pedestal fans that sounded like jet engines were in the upstairs rooms, but did nothing to cool the room. It was at least 10-15 degrees hotter upstairs which you could feel as soon as you walked up the stairs. The curtains did not even cover the windows to block out the hot sun. The whole place smelled of bleach and yet everything was dirty. The couch had a reclining chair that was broken. Some holes in walls had been patched up but not painted. When speaking to the staff I told them about the air comditioning and the lady knew that it was terrible and just said "sorry about that". Next time I will stay further away and drive to visit my family in the area.

The main reason for this low rating is on the basis of disability access. While booking and getting a wheelchair accessible room was fine, we didn't know until we arrived that the reception, indeed, ANY staff, finished at 2.00pm on Sunday. The problem was that the ONLY access in or out was via the fire escape! The lady who booked us in said that we only had to ring and she would come and open the front door for us, the inference being that she lived onsite. We told her that we would be out with friends, including dinner, until about 10.30pm. She assured us that it was fine and she would let us in. We arrived back at 9.45pm and rang the designated number but were informed that we had been forgotten and some family/friends would come and let us in. They arrived in two cars, after we waited for 25 minutes. When we went down the corridor to our room, the security doors between our room and the lobby were firmly locked. If there was a fire I would have had to get my wheelchair down 4 flights of stairs in the Fire Escape as the only possible exit. In the morning, we went to leave at 08.30 and discovered that we were trapped until that point. We rang the designated mobile number for the onsite manager to come and let us out - it took 30 mins and it was obvious that the minibus idling outside had just delivered her from some distance away!

For a different perspective, the room was a reasonable size and the bed was comfortable.

On the negative side there was only a commode chair over the toilet and a complete lack of other seating in the shower. It's pretty difficult for a wheelchair-bound guest to move a commode chair without wheels while sitting on it.

Finally, some light fittings had no bulbs and an armchair had sponge rubber completely exposed on the armrests, as you would expect if you saw it at a kerbside collection...

Do NOT even think about booking here ! We booked one night only - thankfully.
After negotiating on the phone we were given a room rate of $200 in a king bed room.
On arrival, we were confused to see that many of the rooms were obviously permanently let to people who, at best could be described as interesting clientele, although we feel feral is probably more accurate. The carpeted hallway outside the guest rooms was used by children as a bike way, wheel stand alley or alternatively, a roller blade path. Parents were wandering around carrying various alcoholic beverages and a suspiciously sweet smelling smoke was prevalent.
At 2 am, we were awoken by a woman screaming then a torrent of screeched abuse at some male. This occurred again about an hour later accompanied by the slamming of doors. We felt very intimidated and unsafe the entire stay - we made very sure to add the security lock on the room door and check our car was securely locked.
The room itself was adequate and clean.
On speaking to the manager on our departure, he admitted that many of the ‘guests’ were in fact government funded residents.
We understand the need, particularly at present, for housing for long term residents unable to obtain a rental property. However, promoting this property as a hotel at $200 per night at the same time as accepting government funding to house
the needy is not right !
We definitely will be contacting the management of Comfort Hotels to seek explanation.

Booked in for two nights on 26/27 February 2020. $120 per night. Manager Chris requested payment via Amex prior to my arrival. Queried absence of meals, bar, breakfasts etc. Chris stated to go elsewhere if I was not happy.
Had incident on plane from Melbourne to Brisbane whereby I injured my knee due to turbulence.
Had to cancel one night & return to Melbourne on 27/02/20. No refund. Received an account for a $3.06 bottle of water. Complained to Chris. He stated company policy would no allow any refunds. Was prepared to accept refund for bottle of water.
These premises advertise as a Hotel. They are nothing more than a sub standard motel.

I stayed in this hotel last night, as I went to Cleveland to see a play at the Redland Performing Arts Centre. I chose this place solely because of its location, ie I could walk to the theatre.

When I checked in and opened the fridge, there was a half-eaten roast chicken in the fridge! Ugh! I found it off-putting and sickening, and didn't feel like putting my own food in there after that! I phoned Reception, and they came to remove it, but blamed the housekeeping staff.

On Friday afternoon there were cigarette butts on the internal stairs, and they were still there when I checked out on Sat at 10:00.!

The room was large, but there was no microwave oven. The bed was very firm and hard, but I had a very comfortable night's sleep.

I booked online, which was a real circus performance! They sent me an email, asking my email address!!! Huh??

Despite the sign out the front saying the bar was open, it was never open when I was there. I would not stay here again!

For Comfort Chain of motels the Pacific Cleveland was well below standard.
Sadly there is no where else to stay in that location. First impressions were ordinary, met at reception by a foul smoke smell and the disappointment continued...
Dirty, smelly, overpriced.
If you do have to stay there take thongs to wear inside as your feet stick to the dirty carpet. 🤮

Very tired hotel in major need of upgrade. No phone in room to contact reception, the chair in our room was torn towel rail fell off the wall although the staff were lovely the permanent residents were off putting and their children used the hallways as their playground. Kept the extra lock on the door the whole stay. Would not recommend 😕
