It may be a remote area, but the standard of accommodation , service, & ambiance was very welcome after a long hot drive with our group. Rooms are large & clean, with all the facilities needed - not "over the top". We were treated to an evening of traditional dance from a local troupe. The food was excellent.

My partner and I had an unscheduled stay at the Peninsula Lodge for 9 days thanks to an unfortunate break down during our trip to the Cape. The level of customer service displayed by the staff at the Lodge was brilliant. I had no phone reception or internet but the staff did everything they could to help me organise RACQ,...

I have just returned from an 11 day group tour to Cape York, and one of the places we stayed for 2 nights was Cape York Peninsular Lodge at Bamaga. Driving in to the town I am thinking this is not going to be very good, but what a pleasant surprise. The rooms are very large, and spotless, and come...

We have just returned from a three day stay at the Lodge. From the time we arrived at the Bamaga airport until the time we left we experienced some of the best service from the management/reception (outstanding), restaurant (friendly/attentive), drivers & cleaning staff. Well done Cape York Peninsula Lodge!

We had 3 nights at CYPL - excellent accommodation and a fantastic highlight was a 4 WD trip to the Tip of Australia with local guide, Gordon. We were thrilled to hear about his culture and country while he showed us the sights and told us the history and experiences of the local people. Learning about bush tucker, fishing and...

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel in May. The service was excellent; from the pick up at the airport, to the check in, to the restaurant, to assisting with organising tours. The food is excellent in the Paperbark Restaurant and we enjoyed our cocktail outside each night before dinner. All the staff were very friendly and made us feel...

We stayed here for 2 nights, the closest accommodation for the walk to the tip of Cape York. Rooms pleasant. The meals were superb - totally surprising for such an out of the way place. Staff were accommodating and offered suggestions for travel around the area.

In reality, the rooms are average compared with that encountered in most places. Remote northern Australia, though, is a very rough and tumble place and accommodation often reflects this! Food was good, there is a pool so that you can cool off, and the grounds are very well maintained. It's expensive, but most things in the north are, so not...
