A small motel of only 6 rooms. We were in the family room which was very spacious and well equipped. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great location near the beach and only 10 minutes easy walk to shops and eateries. Highly recommend Zuba’s African Cafe for a casual inexpensive meal.

We had a great stay here, awesome for budget accommodation. Right behind the sand dunes to the beach with a private walking track through some nice bush. And right next door to the shops. Would definetly recommend staying here, we had a dog with us. Hosts were very accommodating and friendly people.

My family of 4 stayed in Unit #4. Consisted of 2 bedrooms accommodating 1Q and 2 singles. Fully self contained kitchen, large family fridge, new washing machine and dryer, lovely comfy lounges...the back deck looks onto the lush rainforest with the sound of the ocean nearby. Absolutely perfect for us to walk out the back through the trees and 200 m to Agnes Waters Beach. All the staff were ever so friendly and very helpful from check in to check out. Jay is a total legend who welcomed us to 1770. Will definitely be back with my family. Wifi is available up near reception, even though it’s attached to the backpackers it’s always a safe friendly environment where the tables and lounge areas are located.

Booked online and wasn't made aware it was connected to a backpackers hostel. Our room was upstairs right next to the pool area. The fan had wires hanging out of it. When I told the backpacker behind the counter she just smiled and nodded her head. Went and requested a refund but was offered an upgrade. The apartments are at least further away but the brand new tv won't connect as we don't have a wifi connection or a password for it if there is. I wouldn't recommend this place to stay if it was the last place on earth.

Well equipped kitchen and comfy furniture plus a full laundry would tempt you to stay longer, listening to the nearby surf from bed or a chair on your private patio facing palms and ti trees. Efficient airconditionner and fans most welcome after summer driving.

Saw this place as we were driving by. Could find no other accommodation at 1770 and Agnes Water that were over the top expensive. When we called in we saw that it was youth hostel and were a bit perturbed until the host gave us a key to look at the budget rooms down the back where we also found lots of other large accommodations. The budget rooms were just what we required, with a queen bed, large bathroom. We had a large kitchen room next to ours with fridge and cooking facilities. The other of our rooms had its own fridge and micro wave. It was very clean and quite big enough. don't be fooled, don't drive past make sure you call in to see what is available. The hotel was very nice with lots of very friendly young people. We were also invited to help ourselves to the continential breakfast available. It was a great place and would stay again. Lovely hosts and very very good tariff.

Room Tip: Budget rooms down the back. We had our own little patio to sit only about 200m from the beach.

Visited Agnes again to make the most of June great boating weather, unfortunately the weather was the only great thing about our holiday. The resort has changed ownership or management and seems to be over run by drug users. The greeting at reception was more than unpleasant and if there are cleaners they should be fired, the pool looks as if it was leaking and green also the gardens don't receive maintenance. Will not be staying again and recommend other stay away!

Stayed here for 1 night and it was awful! I rang twice to confirm that the room we were booking for one night had a kitchenette. I asked when I booked the room and then I asked again when I rang to confirm our booking and let reception know our arrival time a few days before the stay, both times we were assured by staff that yes, the room we booked had a kitchenette. Motel rooms have NO kitchenette, just a kettle and microwave and the only sink is the tiny hand basin next to the toilet. Management admitted their staff had told me the wrong information and knew which staff member it was but still no responsibility taken and no offer of discount and could not go to another room or other accommodation as it was Easter weekend and everything was booked out. The sink tap on the basin was leaking and management admitted they knew about the problem already and came to try and mop up water and try and tighten it again (to no avail). Unfortunately neither management or myself realised that the spare roll of toilet paper under the sink was soaking up leaking water but I found this out later that night when I needed to use it. The roll of toilet paper in use in the room was nearly empty when we checked in. Management did bring me an electric hotplate but it was not manageable to use it to prepare food given the small sink in the bathroom so I ended up having to walk about 50 metres up to the communal backpacker kitchen which was awful. It was overcrowded and just a nightmare to use. The real kicker though was having to deal with the smell of pot from someone in the neighbouring room, and not just once, they sparked up joints at least 3 times including setting off their smoke alarm in their room at about 3 am which just sucked for us when we were trying to have a good sleep before a big day of driving again. Plus the smell just filled our room up and took ages to get rid of it again as no fan in the room, only aircon. We got ripped off massively paying $130 for a very basic room with a bad leaking tap, not enough toilet paper and to have to put up with pot heads. Also a pain that we had to park underneath room and go up stairs which had poor lighting at night time. Management did try and help bringing the hotplate and trying to tighten the tap but only after being rude and arrogant to start with.
