We have very sadly returned home today after 5 amazing nights at Shutters on the Beach. The very impressive 3 story house is one of two side by side, which is suitable for a couple, like us, or groups of couples or a family. I won’t lie, you will definitely get fit going up and down the stairs as you will spend most of your time on the 3rd floor where there are views of the beach. You can sit and have pre dinner drinks on the huge balcony. Everything has been thought of, and the kitchen is so well equiped, you will not need to bring a thing. there’s even a small esky so you can take drinks to the viewing platform at the end of the garden where you just sit and watch the waves. When you get hot, you stroll over the sane dune and swim right out the front in the gorgeous beach! Once you’ve had enough of that, wander back over the dune and swim in the swimming pool. Shutters is so secluded, it feels,like you are a million miles from anyway, and we just sat back, out our feet up and enjoyed the tranquility. The appliances are of high quality and the laundry has a Miele washing machine and dryer. Kiki and Ange are very accommodating and even left a bottle of champers in the fridge upon arrival. I couldn’t fault this place..and can not wait to come back! We loved every minute of our stay!

We booked this place directly on their webpage and saved a fortune. We got to this gated accommodation and we’re in for the biggest surprise, it was a mansion, huge, I actually got a little lost each time I changed levels, the house had all beautiful appliances and a massive kitchen and fridge was huge enough for two families, a dining room table that sits 12 I think, balconies at every turn, list goes on…we actually felt like rock stars, beautiful gardens, breath taking views. Gardens were big enough to play a game of footy on. Gardens were fantastically manicured, a swimming pool to do laps if you like, a landing to watch the beach at the bottom of the garden, a path through the trees leads to an amazing beach. You don’t have to leave this place at all except for supplies.
I have to mention the host, Kiki was amazing and very friendly, I would stay there again. The place and people welcoming.

This place is a real gem!! Quiet but close to AgnesWater. Immediate beach front. There is a lovely deck overlooking the beach to have drinks or dinner. A pool and large grass area for kids to play. It is only just a walk to the flags , takeaways coffee shop etc at Agnes. It’s on three levels so there is some stairs but it is very thoughtfully set out. The kitchen is VERY well equipped ( w/ a real coffee machine) a large dining and lounge area and a deck on each level. Overall, it is probably the best there is at Agnes!!!

Not only is Shutters a treat to the eyes on arrival it gets even better when you see the magnificent landscaped grounds surrounding the Lap pool with the original coastal Casuarina trees cascading down the sand dunes. The beach is literally metres away with excellent access for swimming. The beach house accommodation is superb. I could live here if only. The hosts respected our privacy and where necessary were always more than helpful to recommend activities, trips etc. My wife and I are already planning a return next year with other family members to share this memorable experience.

Such an awesome holiday house, in a wonderful location. The place was huge, right on the beach and a 5 minute walk into town. The house was super clean and had everything you could want and need (including a proper espresso coffee machine).
Kiki and Ange were fantastic to communicate with and were so lovely and welcoming, would reccomend booking directly with them and saving on all the hidden fees from other booking sites.
We will absolutely be returning to this hidden gem.

Absolutely beautiful for a family, right on the beach with a great pool and three level house. Kiki greeted us on arrival and said if we need anything just call. Everything was wonderful for Adults and children for the week, and we would all like to recommend a stay at Shutters. We had an awesome meal for Xmas night also a very close Drift & Wood Restaurant, food was just wonderful and lovely welcoming staff. Great fishing and beautiful beach walks. Happy Days 2021 Do yourself a favour & go stay.

We stumbled across Shutters by chance on Stayz and wow werent we lucky On arrival Ange gave us a guided tour of the house, 3 story's of an amazing architecual beauty. We have travelled all over the world and have to say this would be up there with the best we have stayed at.. I normally would like to eat out but found it hard to leave this place and sorry to leave but will defenatlly be back one day with family and firends to share this find.... The Kitchen is fully equipped with more actually Ive never seen a kitchen that was so decked out. The gardens are beautiful and the beach is right at your back door but if you dont want to venture to the beach you can stop at the stairs turn right and you have a gorgeous lap pool that is very hard to leave. If you travel to Australia or around Australia you have to stop here its a must.....

Shutters on the Beach was the best part of Agnes Water/1770 for us. First of all, the house is immaculate, with plenty of space. We were there with our 3 kids, and my husband's parents in their own suite, so they could lock themselves away from us if need be. (They had a king bed and ensuite, and we had a queen, king/singles, and 2 sets of bunks, so there was plenty of room for the 7 of us). It would be perfect for a couple of families, and it is a duplex, so you could have another couple of families on the other side if you wanted to have a big reunion. The living area is on the third floor, which means that it is high enough for ocean views, as there are height and setback restrictions at Agnes. This means that when you're out on the beach, it still seems untouched, as there aren't hundreds of buildings beside you. That was a GREAT plan which makes the beach experience fantastic. The beach is just right across the backyard, which also has a nice swimming pool. We enjoyed some longboarding up by the point and taught our 7 year old to surf. We did go on a reef tour to Fitzroy, which was quite nice but I'd recommend it for families of kids 12 and over, as our little ones couldn't really snorkel properly. Renting a kayak up by 1770 was a nice thing to do. The best cappucino in town was actually from the machine at the Shutters house. The kitchen is fitted out really well, you certainly won't be disappointed with that. I unfortunatley didn't take many photos inside the house, but can confirm that the photos on their website are accurate. The owners are really nice people, and I think that Shutters is probably the best place to stay at Agnes/1770. Surf out the backyard, and close to the shops as well, but you are in your own private world.
