We stayed 2 nights at the Timber Creek Hotel whilst on a birding tour. The rooms were clean and functional. The bathrooms had been recently rejuvenated and were the best so far on our tour.We liked the Hotel restaurant which served good quality staples such as Chicken Parma and Beer Battered Barra.Very tasty dishes.Really liked the campgrounds next to the Hotel which had lots of native birds.Easy to recommend.
These guys are a Puma first Puma I’ve been to and the RACQ card was not accepted! We have almost finished our lap of Australia!!!! They are also more expensive than the united. I think some of these businesses forget if it wasn’t for travellers and caravanning they would be broke. Here I was trying to support them and all they did was rip us off.
I really wasn’t expecting much but it was gorgeous Beautiful green grass and huge trees. Beautiful cool pool and new showers and toilets. An absolute oasis. There is even a “friendly “ crocodile by the creek
Our cabin was really nice. Comfortable with great little kitchen. I made an omelette in the big electric frypan to use up the fresh food we had before heading into WA. The facilities included a good internal bathroom and space with trees and shade and open spaces and a really good pool, dry deep at one end. The pub was great too with delicious looking meals for those who needed someone else to cook for them. The big plus too for us was resort manager CALLUM! He stayed behind to show us the kite birds and croc feeding and that was astounding! Kites catch mid air morsels air! Short sighted fresh water crocodiles accepting Callum’s dinner offerings for our mutual enjoyment. Up close and personal. Wonderful. And if you are a red dog (Kelpie) fan, Callum has one to pat as well. And Callum is a great ambassador for ‘Start a Conversation’ (men’s mental health). Spending a night here as you journey between the Northern Territory and Western Australia is well worth it. Do it!…
an overnight rest and still here. Beautiful green grassy sites with lovely tree lined creek within view always. Private sites. Pool is refreshing and amenities clean and comfy. Birds, fish, cold bevs and yummy takeaway or dine in feed. Staff are wonderful, locals are friendly, lookout/ museum interesting. . Real outback Aussie .. thanks for a great restbreak in my journey to Broome from Brissy. $20/ NIGHT UNPOWERED SOLO CARAVAN A+++
If you’re looking for a place where a male staff member clearly hates customers this is the place for u ! Also , the female toilets had 10 used toilet rolls & zero unused toilet rolls. There was also brown nuggets floating in 3 of the 4 toilets. In regards toilet paper : BYO , drip dry or don’t wipe! And flush before you sit! Enjoy your stay !
We happened to stay at Timber Creek Hotel for two nights. The staff was very nice & friendly. The washrooms for the camping were very clean & rooms were as well. Bonus is for anyone who has a dog, they are pet friendly. For anyone who’s wanting to stay here we’d highly recommend.
Have stayed at many accommodation venues throughout remote WA and NT and can honestly say that Timber Creek Hotel is one of the best. The cabin was immaculately clean, everything you need is available, comfortable beds, hot showers, and a lovely green quiet setting.
We have nothing but praise for the people at Timber Creek Hotel and Caravan Park - so good to get good service, efficient service, and friendly staff - caravan park and restaurant - highly recommend a stay and a good feed!
Very basic stopover point on the Victoria Hwy between Katherine (NT) and Kununnurra (WA). Average caravan park with some camping available. $45.00pn for a vehicle and medium sized caravan. Get in early and it fills up early afternoon. Vans, camper trailers and vehicle are packed in like sardines by dark. Amenities are very basic, an open Camp kitchen, showers, toilets etc. some grassed areas, but the rest is dust. Some of the older amenities need a spruce up and could do with a good clean and scrubbing. Restaurant serves reasonable meals, although pricey ( be warned). Mixed grill is around $35.00AUD Beers at bar are above standard price also. $7.50 for a can of Gt Northern is a bit steep. Fuel available - 161.9cpl for diesel as at time of writing.
