We have just returned from four nights at Lorella Springs and would have to say that the two nights spent bush camping on the property have been the highlight of our NT journey so far! Having said that, there is something for everybody. Magical hot springs, crystal clear pools, hikes, fishing, 4wding or just relaxing at the homestead enjoying happy hour or dinner under the stars. The fact that it is so remote (a full day from Katherine) just adds to the experience and once there you have a million acres to explore. Allow 5-7 days if possible to really appreciate the diversity. Look forward to coming back one day.

This is one of those places that you just have to keep coming back to. It is truly a magical experience and I am already planning next year's trip. You could spend a night just hanging around the homestead - or you could spend a whole season here, exploring and enjoying everything on offer.

Leaving from Jabiru to get to Lorella was a 12 hr drive. I left it up to hubby to know the directions as he and his co worker came up with the idea of this epic adventure. We got about 3/4 of the way without too much trouble but we almost missed the turn off the Capentaria Hwy and onto Ryan's bend Road as there's no signage to say Lorella Springs this way. Luckily Heart break hotel is just up the road from the turn off and told us we needed to take that turn. And we took a picture of the map they had, (since wonderful hubby forgot ours) 🤦♀️ Getting to Lorella Springs homestead was like an oasis in the middle of the bush. I don't know what I was expecting, but the homestead is fabulous and well maintained and obviously lots of love and care go into the maintenance. Love…

We visited Lorella in June 2017 and loved it staying 8 nights. We could easily have spent a month there and still had places to explore on this enormous property. Hosts Rhett and Marie were wonderfully helpful and made us feel so welcome and safe to explore all the remote gorges and 4WD Tracks knowing if anything happened they would come looking for us had we not returned by an agreed day. We spent half our time at the homestead campground doing day trips to waterholes and gorges and half remote camping at the coast fishing, the rivers and all alone at our private Billabong! We will be back from Victoria in future! Thanks for everything guys. Heidi and Pete

Great place but you need a four wheel drive. We visited springs and water holes at Le spa, fern pool, helicopter pool, thermal at the homestead and nudie springs ( it's a place name, not a dress code). Beautiful scenery, some challenging 4wd driving and a friendly host. The access road was better than we expected. Happy hour drinks are reasonably priced.

Lorella Springs is as named a WILDERNESS PARK, it is unique, stunning, adventure based, the staff both friendly and helpful. We were going to stay a couple of nights, stayed eight would loved to have stayed longer, just so much to see and do. Spent 3 nights camped at the Secret Fishing spot - stunning. Some may say $20 each a night expensive for an overnighter maybe, but for anyone wanting to escape for 3 + nights amazing value for money. This place will is one not to miss, if you are travelling and have the time don't miss Lorella Springs. Thankyou Rhett Walker for giving us the opportunity to explore the stunning 1 million acres, we will be back.

Thank you very much for your kind words, we are very glad to read that you decided to stay longer to tick a few more places on your map - there will be more to see and explore next time, so make sure to come back! - earlier in the year and you won't recognise the place, right after the wet season it is stunning with flashy green grass and water flowing in all the pools and waterfalls. Until then, safe travels.

My partner and I stayed here in early May. We were here for 5 nights but could have easily stayed more. We camped in the main campground and also experienced remote camping. There is so much to do on this 1 million acre property. Endless 4wd tracks of differing grades, fishing, hiking, birdwatching, canoeing and best of all swimming! The swimming holes here are spectacular with clear spring water. Everyone has a different favourite, and we didn't see them all but if your up for a very difficult climb 'Teardrop' was easily the best followed by the easier accessed 'Waterslide'. Your hosts Rhett and Marie and their fantastic staff make you feel very welcome and give detailed instructions and maps for your outings. I also found volunteers Greg and Maxine to be extremely friendly…

Thank you for your very accurate and useful feedback - you have highlighted a very important and true point - the remoteness of our property which makes it so unique, a destination but also a logistical challenge. We are so glad to read feedback like yours which show that you appreciate the time and effort that has gone into opening our little piece of paradise for others to enjoy. Many thanks again for your lovely review, hope it will inspire and help others plan their future stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you here again in the future, for more exploring and story sharing around the bar! Safe travels.

Just been back for my 2nd time and i can confirm that the earlier in the season the better. However even at the end there are things to do and see but much less swimming holes will be swimmable. Base camp at the homestead is just fantastic with the warm springs and friendly staff. Drive out to rosies camp and the secret fishing camp can be done in a day trip but better to stay overnight on the edge of the gulf! Some attractions are are quite hard to get to so ask other campers as the staff tend to say everything is easy and it is not always the case. Ask questions. To really see all of lorella you need a week but anytime will be enjoyed ! Highly recommend! I will be back for a third time!

Thank you for your review and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. With over a thousand kilometres of 4WD tracks on the property, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy - those who want the easy tracks as well as those who prefer more challenging tracks. The main thing to remember is to always stop by the office for directions. Thanks again for your review, and see you again soon at Lorella! Until then, safe travels
