Last stayed at this wonderfull little hideaway 10 years ago, and nice to know the standard has not slipped. Still a very comfortable place to stay. Suitable only for couples makes this place even quieter and so enjoyable to sit, relax, chill out and take it easy. Love the many, many tress and tropical foliage. Enjoyed the pool and use of the barbecue and common room which is cool and serene. An ideal place to do nothing, or go for walks or explore the nearby Litchfield National Park.
Friendly reception with helpful advice on what to do. Bungalows in shaded Bali style precinct. Beds OK. There is a small pool area. Walking distance to a few eating venues. New a small airfield but that was no problem.
We had a wonderful stay at Rum Jungle Bungalows in July 2020. It was spotlessly clean and had a lovely stylish, tropical atmosphere. A great place for anyone looking for an alternative to a Bali holiday. Sue was a very attentive host who went above and beyond for us. The bungalows are situated near the edge of LItchfield National Park with its beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes.
We stayed at Rum Jungle the first weekend it reopened & it was just lovely. The property itself was very serene & owner Sue was delightful. She was so helpful & offered so many suggestions for day trips, things to do at the property & was just super helpful. If we were to revisit Litchfield we would definitely look at staying at Rum Jungle again.
We had a wonderful family getaway at the idyllic Rum Jungle bungalows. 6 neat little cabins tucked away between tropical gardens. Sue was most helpful in booking our stay and in accommodating our babies and small child, who were in portacots. The cabins were equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We noted all the special touches: Australian botanical hand soap and shower gel, the lovely ground coffee and tea leaves, and milk in a bottle with wax paper and fresh home grown ruby grapefruit. The garden dining room set next to the immaculate pool, was a perfect setting for shared meals, with a lovely large dining table, as well as a lounge area. All enclosed in mesh for a bug and mozzie free meal. It was great having this space with a crawling baby in tow, peace of mind that she was safe. The grounds are stunning, with plenty of lush tropical gardens and a number of places to sit & relax. The little ones loved the chickens & the duck, as well as the swings. There was also a sandpit which we didn't get to this time. Such a great relaxing getaway. We look forward to next time!!!…
This is a quiet, little oasis, ideally situated on Lichtfield NP's very doorstep. You'll sleep in small but fully equipped cabins topped by palmtrees and you'll wake up to the sound of bush birds and pretty much no other sound. And yes, there is a swimming pool ... The staff is kind, helpful and knowledgeable - ready to share bushwalking tips on the NP and ideas on points of interest in the region.
What a beautifully serene place to stay, filled with palms and birds you just can’t help but feel relaxed on arrival. This is the perfect location to explore Litchfield National Park. It provides comfortable, private bungalows around lovely garden room and pool to enjoy a bbq dinner or just cool drinks upon returning from exploring for the day, provisions can be purchased locally. We were disappointed we weren’t staying another night.....maybe next time.
We loved staying here. It was our best place while traveling the Northern Territory. Nice little bungalows with everything you need (except a bottle opener;)) Nice gardens and pool. You get a light breakfast and can use the bbq in the garden. Make sure to bring your food then from where you come from because the shop in town doesn’t have much. We had a take out from the butterfly farm next door (we just got to take the place to the garden ;)) The pool is small but nice, you see some beautiful butterflies flying around, birds and at night some frogs. Nearby Litchfield park. WiFi only had the front not in cabins.
Stayed here only for one night. The bathroom / toilet area was too small and struggled to even find anywhere to hang clothes after getting out of the shower. The bed needs to have a good think. The frame that surrounds the bed protrudes outside of the mattress. When you go to get out, it pinches your skin. Also, because of this, the pillows tend to sink into the gap between the bed & the wall.Really silly design. But what really topped it off was we lost power at 4am in the morning. It was the smoke alarm that warned us so we had to lay there in the dark & the HEAT with nothing to do. Couldn't wait til sunrise could come around so we could have a shower & get the hell out of there. As we were about to leave at 8am, the power came back on. The response from the owner.."it happens quite often in town".Rooms were really cramped & disappointed from previous reviews.…
We spent one night here after a day exploring Lichfield Park. What a wonderful peaceful and beautiful setting. Arriving very hot, the first thing we did was cool off in the pool. Lovely and so refreshing. The bungalows were well appointed with a comfortable queen bed. The bathroom was small but had everything we needed and the kitchenette was more than adequate. I sat outside in the evening and with a mosquito coil burning, there were no bugs. There were cane toads in the garden, but otherwise I was not aware of any nocturnal wildlife. Breakfast in the morning was delightful, and an unexpected treat. We did not use the games room.
