Detailed Reviews
We had a wonderful family getaway at the idyllic Rum Jungle bungalows. 6 neat little cabins tucked away between tropical gardens.
Sue was most helpful in booking our stay and in accommodating our babies and small child, who were in portacots.
The cabins were equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We noted all the special touches: Australian botanical hand soap and shower gel, the lovely ground coffee and tea leaves, and milk in a bottle with wax paper and fresh home grown ruby grapefruit.
The garden dining room set next to the immaculate pool, was a perfect setting for shared meals, with a lovely large dining table, as well as a lounge area.
All enclosed in mesh for a bug and mozzie free meal.
It was great having this space with a crawling baby in tow, peace of mind that she was safe.
The grounds are stunning, with plenty of lush tropical gardens and a number of places to sit & relax.
The little ones loved the chickens & the duck, as well as the swings. There was also a sandpit which we didn't get to this time.
Such a great relaxing getaway.
We look forward to next time!!!

Last stayed at this wonderfull little hideaway 10 years ago, and nice to know the standard has not slipped.
Still a very comfortable place to stay.
Suitable only for couples makes this place even quieter and so enjoyable to sit, relax, chill out and take it easy.
Love the many, many tress and tropical foliage.
Enjoyed the pool and use of the barbecue and common room which is cool and serene.
An ideal place to do nothing, or go for walks or explore the nearby Litchfield National Park.

We stayed at Rum Jungle the first weekend it reopened & it was just lovely. The property itself was very serene & owner Sue was delightful. She was so helpful & offered so many suggestions for day trips, things to do at the property & was just super helpful. If we were to revisit Litchfield we would definitely look at staying at Rum Jungle again.

We had a wonderful stay at Rum Jungle Bungalows in July 2020. It was spotlessly clean and had a lovely stylish, tropical atmosphere. A great place for anyone looking for an alternative to a Bali holiday. Sue was a very attentive host who went above and beyond for us. The bungalows are situated near the edge of LItchfield National Park with its beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes.

Friendly reception with helpful advice on what to do. Bungalows in shaded Bali style precinct. Beds OK. There is a small pool area. Walking distance to a few eating venues. New a small airfield but that was no problem.

After spending the previous night in a tent this stop was sheer luxury. The Bali styled bungalows were very comfortable and spacious. The bed was king size and there was a sink, fridge and kettle in corner of the room to make tea or coffee. The ensuite was tiny but was lovely and clean...towels were soft and fluffy! The pool area was great. The only downside was that breakfast was an extra and although very healthy...muesli and fruit, it wasn't really enough or filling. The option of a cooked breakfast would have been nice.

room very nicely decorated, lovely garden, delightful hostess but...the size of the room is really small and if you travel with more than one case, it is difficult to move around. Hurt my leg on the corner of the bed several times. No table either to prepare or eat breakfast in good conditions. Breakfast consisting in four slices of bread in a container in the fridge, milk and cereals, plus tea and coffee you had to prepare. I had read some comments on the lovely breakfast with fruit and yoghurt, we had none of these and decided to skip, especially as you were instructed to leave everything spick and span. When I go on holiday, I don't expect to do this, especially as it was not particularly cheap if I remember well.

This property is nice with a few bungalows under the trees. The common room is pleasant and the swimming pool ok. It is not far from Litchfield park. What is best is the owner. She's a very charming lady and she gave us so many good advices for the park and also the restaurants.

We stayed here at the end of September. The rooms were pretty average, small and not in great condition. The TV didn't have very good reception and things felt tired. The breakfast was very nice and the lady was helpful with what to go and see at the Litchfield NP. Having said that, not sure there is many alternatives in the small town.

“Neither tired nor run down”. In September we had 153 people stay with us, most enjoying multiple night stays. On departure the absolute majority of these guests were graciously complimentary regarding the quality of their immaculately clean accommodation, the lovely tropical gardens, the breakfast of course, and their overall experience of staying at the Bungalows. Almost all of these very satisfied and happy guests did not write a review to this forum. Accommodation owners are very well aware of the tendency for this forum to attract reviews that are unfairly negative. So therefore here at Rum Jungle Bungalows we are very appreciative and feel most fortunate to have received such a large number of excellent and good reviews to this forum which reflect the positive experience of well in excess of a thousand guests who stay each year.

We spent one night here after a day exploring Lichfield Park. What a wonderful peaceful and beautiful setting. Arriving very hot, the first thing we did was cool off in the pool. Lovely and so refreshing. The bungalows were well appointed with a comfortable queen bed. The bathroom was small but had everything we needed and the kitchenette was more than adequate.
I sat outside in the evening and with a mosquito coil burning, there were no bugs. There were cane toads in the garden, but otherwise I was not aware of any nocturnal wildlife.
Breakfast in the morning was delightful, and an unexpected treat. We did not use the games room.
