Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very fortunate to have made a booking here. The motel is super cheap and very thoughtfully renovated. Lots of space and very comfortable. I have stayed in many motels throughout Australia over many years and this should be the standard that other motels strive for.

I stayed for 5 nights in a Probus Club group. We booked out the entire property.
The owners Josh and Sarah are resurrecting an old motel that had grown tired under previous ownership. On the evidence of my stay, they are doing an excellent job. They proved to be wonderful hosts.
My room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It had one queen-sized bed. I had no trouble getting to sleep in it. The room had A/C, free (quick) wifi, a good sized bathroom with excellent hot water flow, and a well-equipped small kitchen area with an electric kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, water and wine glasses, plates and cutlery enough for two people. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, soap and shampoo/conditioner were all supplied.
Our group had breakfasts and dinners at Coachmans.

Breakfasts were a buffet with a range of cereals and plenty of fresh fruit, milks of various types and yoghurts, plus bacon, eggs (scrambled and fried, mostly on alternate days) baked beans and mushrooms. Bread, white and wholemeal, was supplied by a bank of toasters including one marked for GF only. Butter, marmalade, honey and Vegemite were available. One small grouch is that the toasters were very slow.

To cater for a large party, we were asked to pre-select our dinner choices. Three mains and three desserts were offered each night. The food was excellent. There was plenty of variety and the dishes I chose were cooked nicely and very tasty. The standout for me was a Moroccan vegetable tagine with couscous. It was the only vegetarian dish I chose on the trip but it was delicious. I also enjoyed a traditional Australian lamb leg roast on one night and a delicate, beautifully flavoured coconut panna cotta (with fresh mango) on another night.
The motel is just off the Pacific Hwy, about 50m back, on the northern edge of Eden. I was able to hear some heavy vehicle noise at night but not enough to disturb my sleep.

My long-lasting memory of this stay will be the wonderful hospitality extended by Sarah, Josh and their staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They looked after our group so very well. They all (staff included) stood at the front of the motel to wave us good-bye as we departed. Where and when do you ever experience that?

Booked a 5 night stay at a cost over $300 a night, price gouging to the extreme. Bed was hard as a rock. Room layout old and dated. Disgusting hand basin in the kitchenette not in bathroom. Completely over priced for what the room is.

I have a service dog but was thrown out of the room first thing in the morning. Booking.com has the venue listed as PET FRIENDLY. Owner won't take responsibility over what's on booking.com but passing the buck. Male Owner/manager rude and arrogant will never use venue again.

Response from Coachmans Eden, General Manager at Coachman's Eden
Responded 28 Dec 2020
Our motel is not advertised as allowing pets, including Booking.com's site. You hid a dog in the room (which was certainly not a service dog) and consequently asked to leave. Your inaccurate description of the room is malicious and vindictive and I trust readers will treat your review with the contempt it deserves. We agreed to your request to refund the remaining nights, but now you've made false allegations.......perhaps not very smart?

Recently taken over by new management, who have clearly made a big effort and a big difference. The owner/manager is a cool guy with a relaxed vibe and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms have been recently renovated with paint, new curtains, carpet and furniture. My room was spotless throughout, spacious, tastefully decorated and furnished, with parking outside. Kitchenette has microwave, kettle, toaster with crockery and glasses. Bathroom was newly renovated also, had plenty of hot water, with soap and shampoo. The bed was comfortable and each room has its own aircon. Each room has two chairs and a little table outside, and it was nice to sit outside and have a coffee in the morning. There is a large dining room/lounge with bar, I sat on a couch and read, with a drink in the evening. In the morning, the dining room is buzzing with people grabbing a breakfast and having a chat. Great place, will be going there next time I need a half-way house :)

Our party of 4 booked 2 rooms and were very happy with our choice. The large and clean renovated rooms were a delight. 2 super comfortable armchairs was something you rarely see in a motel room. Bed was extremely comfortable and aircon was quiet and efficient. There's a pool onsite and the motel is only a short 5 minute drive to the centre of Eden. There's also a restaurant onsite but it was closed and really not sure if it's open at all.
We sat outside our rooms with our friends late afternoon enjoying a cuppa and it was quiet.... from 7am though we heard some traffic but that's a given for any motel on a main road. Booked direct for $115, a bargain for the quality of the room.

We stayed as part of a group of 40 including the coach driver Henryk, who was just amazing, looking after everyone. We all felt so welcomed upon arrival. With Joshua, Sarah and little Charlie outside to greet us all. We were able to sit around an open fireplace for pre-dinner drinks, as the motel had a fully stocked bar. If there was a particular drink request, it was purchased, ready for the next night. Joshua was happy to join and have a chat with guests, in a very relaxed atmosphere.
Amazing couple Josh and Sarah since taking over management, have turned the Motel completely around. Nothing was too much trouble and along with their dedicated team, provided tasty, generous size meals nightly for our five-night stay. A wonderful selection of food was provided for breakfasts each morning, to start our days off exploring the Sapphire Coast.
The room we stayed in was a queen bed plus a single. The room contained what would be expected plus more, a microwave, kettle, toaster and utensils to use. The beds were very comfortable and felt soft and luxurious. Most importantly the rooms were clean. We really couldn't fault our stay, with Eden a great location to use as a base for a south coast discovery.

The room was a decent size and looked like had been recently redecorated. It was generally clean but when we moved the chair from the corner it was obvious that it had not been vacuumed behind for a very long time.
The bathroom configuration was a bit odd with the wash basin located outside the toilet & shower room.
The shower leaked badly & flooded the floor around the toilet.
There was a toaster & kettle available but no plates, only cups & 1 teaspoon.
The bed was very uncomfortable & the pillows awful.
The room smelled very strongly of an awful disinfectant or cleaning product.

Answer from Coachmans E
Bruno While the rooms are wheelchair friendly, they are not set up for disabled access with grab rails, etc. We can provide a shower chair if required and there is room for wheelchair beside the bed. Regards Coachman's Eden
