We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Tamrin and Tom were helpful and friendly and answered our hundreds of questions. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and towels were plush. I appreciated the strong toilet paper (dissolving paper has been an issue on our trip) and that the air-conditioning unit was not blowing directly on my face while sleeping. The bar and patio area was lovely and laid-back, which was great because I didn't feel I had to dress up to eat and drink. I was allowed to smoke on the front balcony. Our only suggestion would be shelves in the shower for soaps.

A boutique hotel beautifully restored and honoring its original splendor and decor. The attention to detail in styling and designing the hotel is evident from the moment you walk in. It has a charm reminiscent of days long gone.

We stayed in the “Brierly” room named after Sir Oswald Walters Brierly and it was magnificently styled. We loved the claw foot bathtub, the selection of pillows, the beautiful China teacups, the floor tiles and the pressed metal embossed ceiling. Our room had a door that lead to a beautiful verandah with views looking out towards Mount Imlay.

Dinner in the hotel was delicious with the pizzas being the best we’ve had outside of Italy, live music to boot made for a memorable evening in Eden.

Highly recommended! Surpassed all our expectations!

The renovation of this property is stunning. There is huge attention to detail and it’s beautiful. There is still more underway.
We booked through Booking.com and I get a loyalty discount. The lady at the desk on check in mentioned what a good price we’d got and I wondered if that was why we got a smaller room. Maybe not …it was the Bass room.
The towels, bed linens and bathrobes were luxurious but there needed to be some hooks in the bathroom.
The bathroom was open with no door.
There was no where in the room to put our bags . They had to go on the floor which made it difficult to get around the bed once all the cushions were off the bed. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to see a few complimentary mini bar items .
We ate in the bar - the restaurants not open yet and the pasta was a bit bland but the lady behind the bar was great and made a good cocktail.
This is a beautiful hotel in a great location and I’m sure they’ll only get better and better.

Beautifully restored historic hotel. We were coming to the end of a 12 day road trip on the Harley, and had dodgy accommodation pre booked elsewhere in Eden. Called in for a drink and saw they had rooms available here, so we grabbed our bags and came back. Staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough to assist. Parking behind the hotel was very close. Hotel is centrally located in the middle of the main street. Room wasn’t cheap, and once we got into it, we could see why, it was fabulous. This is boutique, luxury accommodation. Beautiful large comfortable bed, with beautiful bedding and insane selection of pillows. Quality fittings and clean, airy rooms period decorated and design, high ceilings and excellent bathroom and shower. Fluffy, generous sized bath robes, well stocked mini bar, tea and coffee and snacks. Bonus was our own gorgeous verandah, with amazing sea view, over the bay, where we spent sunset and saw sunrise the next morning. Had dinner and drinks downstairs, tasty and fresh wood fired pizza, with a great wine selection, and good range of beers on tap. Our stay here turned out to be a lovely little surprise, and it was shame we were only staying one night.

Hotel Australasia has been magnificently restored, absolutely stunning. Truly a beautiful ambiance and decor. We so enjoyed a drink by the fireplace, admiring the beautiful chandeliers and art work. Our room was gorgeous and comfortable in every way, staff were all fabulous and attentive, food wonderful. The breakfast was to die for. Thoroughly recommend a stay.

What an absolute gem of a place! They've done a marvelous job with the renovation. We had a nice, albeit small, room upstairs with its own balcony. Very comfortable accommodation. And the pizza-OMG-I crave that crust! The staff were very accommodating-overall I highly recommend staying here!

Obviously full of heritage and history, loved the exterior and seating on the front verandah. Then inside a serious make-over embracing the modern world. Full menu and the usual offerings, pizza especially good.

One night stay at the hotel in May.
Some pros and cons.
Pros:
- lovely room with comfy bed and fantastic amenities
- great meal in the restaurant with fab service throughout
Cons:
- open plan bathroom and room which may not be to everyone’s taste. No door or screen separating the bed and bath/toilet area
- very busy day on the Sunday and service was hit and miss (waited an hour for breakfast).
Hotel is going through a massive renovation at the moment and, make no mistake, it’ll be a wonderful destination one day.
Would I stay again - without a doubt in a few months.

This hotel is really a treat to stay at, although still a work in progress it is in excellent condition, the decor and furnishings are top quality and all the staff, of which there were lots on a quiet Sunday night, were all friendly and helpful. The included continental breakfast was very good with fresh fruit etc, not cheap but well worth it!
